Did this get any better after the first 3 or so episodes? Honestly, im a huge Marvel fan but I lost motivation to watch. It always felt latent and unexciting for something that's supposed to dig into a world of the supernatural and wonderous such as the marvel universe.
It's still not good. There are a few eps with signs of promise but this really needs a revamp.

It's mediocre right now. As in, it's enjoyable but it could be so much better. At least, it's enjoyable for me. Everyone else says it's mega boring.

Eh, more episodes won't help if the show doesn't fix it's bigger problems.

We'll see. The show needs more focus on an antagonist and such, but it doesn't hurt that quality hasn't gone down since inception. Ratings are up a lot over the Thor tie in, so I guess people liked that episode and tuned into the next. Some people said it was boring, but I thought it was their strongest episode yet, guess we'll see how the Dec episode does. Strong guy hopefully become a regular or semi regular. Characters are starting to get decent enough that they don't really need to have cookie cutter 'roles' so I'm not worried about Ward being made redundant. Not-Luke Cage is still a civilian after all.

Oh man, S1 of Heroes was so great.

For all the shit Loeb gets (and boy does he deserve it) he's kind of right about what killed the show. It's clear that the writing teams strengths were writing origin stories.

This is why I stopped watching. They don't know how to get the ball rolling or to plant anything substantial to make the viewer get invested. Even when I stopped watching I felt hope was the only reason I was still there.

Sadly I'll probably keep watching. I like the marvel universe, and curious where they go with it. But I swear it feels like I'm watching crappy webisodes for a popular series instead of an actual series

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
Just finished watching the episode. I kept expecting a certain fiery red demon with red hair pop in the episode but nope. lol.

Show is awesome. You should definitely catch up.

That's good to hear. I think maybe a problem this show has had on the action front is that only 3 out of the 6 people on the team are combat capable, and it seems like at least one or two of them are always sidelined or over-viewing whatever mission they're on. Maybe this will give them more opportunities there. Plus maybe we could get less technobabble if more of the team was less tech-headed.

Recurring only means that they'll be appearing in two or more episodes, not necessarily that they'll be joining or replacing any of the current regulars. Though the cast could use a shakeup, definitely.

I like this. A lot of people were saying that adding new blood to the team would help. Let's hope the new characters are a little more charismatic. The original cast is only just starting to become the least bit interesting.

This show doesn't need any more characters (unless they plan to off all the unlikeable ones), it needs better writting. Period.

I hate to bring Arrow to the table once more, but latest episode showed exactly how to introduce superpowered individuals that remain engaging and mysterious, deep, meaningful mythology from the comics that doesn't necesarily relate to the mainstays of the franchise and tremendous action scenes.

Fuck new characters, give the Coulson's team a sense of purpose and some fun baddies that tap into Marvel's huge reservoir of villainy. I simply cannot believe they have yet to introduce AIM or Zemo. This TV d-lister of the week thing they keep going on is bewildering as fuck.

All the props are legit bad, including the night night gun.

Which is pretty pathetic considering SHIELD's inconmensurable gadget pedigree.

If you want to be an action show, you need characters that can believably fight. Currently, they have 2/6. That's not a good ratio.

I'd be ok with May and Ward doing all the asskicking, but that would require an actual fight coordinator. All the action scenes so far have been pathetic. Even the shootouts are terribad.

Yeah, now that I've been devouring Arrow (three episodes to go in season one!), the action scenes on SHIELD look even more lame.

I think a six-man cast is fine for Agents of Shield.

And I'm not watching the show for its action sequences or its weird villain of the week, but rather the interactions among the team members.

And one-third of the team being capable fighters is more than enough. The idea is that SHIELD will go solve its problems with a minimum of violence.

New interview with Jeffrey Bell on episode 10 and the next half of the season:

I would say, in general, I think fans will experience the episodes as being a bit more "Marvel." I mean that on several levels. I think we're always looking to find characters either from the Marvel movie universe or the comic universe that fans would recognize. I think bringing the tension and suspense of the movies is something that we're looking to do as our characters become more confident.

The other thing that seems to be happening, just based on the fact that what felt like standalone were in fact for us setting up a lot of different pieces of the puzzle, I think you're going to feel more momentum from the stories, episode to episode. Occasional cliffhangers, which I feel are more like a Marvel Comic ending than, "it's all neatly tied up in a bow." So I think on a few levels, fans will feel it's moving a bit more in the Marvel direction.

On the one hand, more Marvel elements and more serialization is exactly what I wanted to hear, at least as far as the plotting is concerned.

On the other hand, much of the the rest of the interview is basically "everything is fine and dandy with the show creatively and fans are silly because they're not all finding the same things to criticize," though how much of that is spin I have no idea.

Cinematography is still ass but the episodes got a whole lot better at around 5-6.

The geek twins are now likable and awesome.

Yeah, that response to the first question does not inspire a lot of confidence. If he said "I love where we are, but it gets even better in the second half of the season," which is a pretty fluffy answer, would've been better.

Yeah, he really doesn't get it. If people are critizing a lot of different aspects of your show, you probably just have a lot of problems.

let me see if they take the lazy choice and have peterson turn on them at the last minute because he wouldn't tell them they have his son...

Edit: They have surprised me...
