And they did intend to give medical attention to them (the guards), but they both died quickly.

Also if it really was a SHIELD base and Coulson was the managing director of the project, then the guards were even stupider than they seemed originally.

Or maybe it was because it was Coulson's orders to not allow entry to anyone, Coulson included, if they do not know the counter sign to "how was your drive to Istanbul". And if anyone should enter by force w/o knowing that call sign, they are to be met with deadly force.

It still makes sense, but people got really hung up on this whole TAHITI secret base thing though.

The only thing that stands out is that they didn't recognize Coulson by name. Unless they just never used names, and call sign were the only requirement to entry and the only involuntary contact with the guards.

edit: Actually, the last guard alive did sorta recognize Coulson.
Guard: Do I... know you?
Coulson: I don't know... I might have spent some time here a while back...

So even if they knew Couslon, they probably thought he was dead, and were not privvy to the knowledge that he was the one revived by the procedure.

I just finished ep 20... and i can come back reading this thread.

huh ?

The episode was fairly cool , minus the special effect with lola.

But that last scene ? so worth it.

SO WORTH IT.

I just can't wait to watch next episode ...

i kinda need to calm down.

As for ward , they have some serious character building to do if they wish to redeem "that"
As for deathlok , well there wasn't enough of him.

Very intresting by what skye "left" on the drive when she decripted the drive.

Skye really was great this week. Loved her just unloading on Ward. Frickin' Nazi indeed.
The Nazi thing was the best dialogue and I'm glad it was because that confrontation was the climax of the episode. That was both hilarious and damning.
Yeah, I actually thought that was a nice twist - he was so annoyed when Skye called him a nazi, lol.
I'm glad somebody pointed out that they've been officially Nazis all this time, especially when Skye got her badge, unaware that was just became a Fascist that day. :P

Lol at the title change.

But I'm on board with everyone else. Even in the 1st Captain America it gets glossed over quickly that Hydra are stll Nazis.

They started as Nazi's, but Red Skull broke off from them so they weren't really 'allied' anymore. If anything, Red Skull thought Hitler was small time.

I really wish we started this whole title change trend per each episode earlier. I love it.

Next season, it should change every episode.

I agree. Would love that.

You and I, we're two sides of the same coin.

I know I'm backtracking, but the blue alien they found in the TAHITI project that resurrected Coulson...Kree?

Considering they were mentioned in the following episode by Sif and will be featured in Guardians of the Galaxy in August (which presumably will air before Season 2 if there is a Season 2) it probably is. Would be a fantastic way to tie Guardians closer to the MCU and I'm actually impressed that they came up with that.

It's similar enough (rescued as a kid after being experimented on) that it would fit right in.

And whoa, holy crap-

If they end up doing this in season 2, I'd be so happy.

It would also make sense as to how fast Skye seduced Ward, and how easily she kept Ward from being suspicious...

Regarding the latest episode:

You guys remember those guys guarding the TAHITI-facility?
Well, it looks like they were ordered to protect what was in it by Coulson, which makes them top-class SHIELD agents, that died at the hands of their very own boss.

Forget about a redemption arc for Ward, they need a redemption arc for Coulson after he murdered two innocent SHIELD agents who were only doing their job (which was doing what Coulson told them to do).

Coulson's intentions were in trying to save someone's life. The show needs to address the situation and deal with it appropriately but it is in no way comparable to Ward's actions.

To be fair, it wasn't Coulson's fault that no one told him he was the one behind the facility and that the guards would kill him if he tried to enter it (which kinda invalidates the whole bringing him back to life thing).
