A rough season overall but I felt it corrected itself near the end and played to its strengths.
And I love the finale. Garretts dispatch was a pure Joss Wheaton moment-I loved it. I"Hey guys, I found it!" I can't wait to see more from Dir. Colson and I think it's really interesting that I am super excited to see where the show goes from here. Any word on if Patton Oswald is going to be a regular next year?

I think the most impressive thing but the show did was making me be impressed by Skye and liked her character in the past couple of episodes.

This show desperately needs a shorter episode order. 17 episodes pls.

Next season will be split into two arcs with Agent Carter in the middle, so I think that will go a long way to making the stories flow better.

And the tumblrs are going wild.

FEELS

Can you imagine the massive lols/general bewilderment had they came out from the container and Namor rescued them instead of Fury?

Friendzoned so hard my chest hurt when I saw that.

For serial though, thinking back about the fitz/modok thing... I think a much likely scenario than Fitz turning bad, is Simmons ending up on an "any means necessary" path to healing/fixing Fitz. I mean she still won't want to get that D, but I could easily see her becoming obsessed with getting her BFF back up and running, no matter the cost.

AoS already missed the MODOK train with Patton. That said, I can totally see Simmons doing something hella stupid to heal Fitz back, either out of loyalty or due to pure guilt. We already saw she was dangerously curious about that Kree juice after all.

Maybe she'll kill and liquify Skye in order to create a new serum. Fitz lives and Mary Sue Poots dies, everybody wins!

Just kidding, I'm actually enjoying her a lot since her Hail Hydra moment.

Great finale. So did Fury just give Coulson control of SHIELD but keep the best agents like Barton for himself?

Barton and Romanov. But they're more like freelancers now.

Also now he has more time to take out pizzadog for a walk.

Nice. A bit on the nose.
Nono...

Better =P
Someone was saying that they shouldn't just be turning all the cart members evil, and to that I say, you either die a hero or yada yada yada. What does Skye have to do to win y'all pessimistic ones over? She's been great the last few episodes.

The thing I've enjoyed the most about Skye's progression is that they didn't make her fall for Ward again. She hates his guts now and that's the end of it. I hope they keep it that way, just like I hope they keep Ward evil or just plain amoral.

Had the same reaction to Simmons' reaction to Fitz - she didn't suddenly fall for him, but instead had this wild crazy mix of reactions that felt natural/real.

Probably amoral. Coulson's line towards the end was the gist of it. Ward dedicated his whole (adult) life to the service of someone who, in the end, was not only selfish and untrustworthy, but a total lunatic. We know he was never a proper Hydra agent, so it's not like he's got that to fall back on. It looks like agent Pensive Soulsearch has a lot to figure out while he's locked up.

I like how Sky has really come into her own in the home stretch. The way that she went into the Cybertek facility, and the confidence she portrayed (even in talking down Ward) was not forced. I can not imagine the earlier versions of her doing that kind of thing without it being a performance of her character, like a cutsey distraction or something where the audience gets to be in on the joke of her acting tough.

I wonder if season 2 will be done before Avengers 2 hits theatres. I can't imagine Marvel not wanting to tie AoS to Age of Ultron somehow. Cross-promotion brand synergy and all.

I almost felt bad for Agent Hardlook but then I realized he was a murderous psycho, so fuck him. He can rot in prison forever.

I feel characters like Skye, just need time to grow to become a worthwhile character. Yes in many ways she was very mary-sueish (to which based on her real name the writers knew it as well), but yeah she's grown a lot. Honestly I think ever since Ward went evil that she has gotten a lot better.

I feel like it's a similar to Asoka from The Clone Wars who also seems very mary-sue, but eventually become a good character and not very suish.

I think it depends on the schedule, the show starts up again this fall and it has a lot of breaks like it did the first season, it's unlikely it will finish before AoU come out.

Agreed.

"Hail Hydra" in the diner was the moment when she "graduated", I guess you could call it.

If Ultron is between Shield episodes, I hope they put in the effort in and really weave the two together. Obviously they won't expect people to have seen the show to enjoy the movie but I do hope the movie has an impact on the show like Winter Soldier did.

Motherfucking Sam Jackson :DDDDDDDDDDDD

I really laughed when John took his robot suit to be blasted away a second later.
I was really dreading that he will return in season 2 and that was a shitty cliffhanger.

The Sky plot better be having a huge depth/character development for Sky.

Fitz can fuck off. I was hoping at least he would die due to this, but everyone surviving in this kind of grave situation, does show me that the main characters are plot armored.

Trip will probably still fuck Simmons anyhow. Damn son. Fitz got fucked six ways to sunday

I can see it now. Her 100th attempt to get Fitz back to normal fails, Tripp consoles her all the way to orgasmtown. Fitz wakes up from coma right after, hoping to fall into Simmons' waiting arms.

DRAMMAAAAAAAAAA

I really can't believe how the show and my opinion on almost all the characters changed the last few weeks.

Ward was an okay character but I really disliked him. He had like every cliche for a weapon and combat specialist and it was bound to be Skye's love interest... And then betrayal. The villain Ward was the best Ward. Ruthless but still he has his weaknesses. Even to the very end, when he confronted Skye he just could not attack her but tried to exploit her weakness about him.

Skye also surprised me. I didn't like her at all first and it was like she was only here because the team needed a beautiful girl(no offense to Simmons). The fact they passed her as a master hacker was also kind of annoying. As her character started to develop and she stopped being suspicious but a part of the team, she became my favorite. She's funny and I liked almost every scene with her after Quinn shoot her. And her scenes with the traitor Ward is just gold. Probably my favorites from the series.

About Fitzsimmons, I liked them and I still do but their relationship annoyed me a lot, especially after Trip's appearance. They were a great science duo but the writers just didn't want them to be a couple. And after Fitz started to show his affection about Simmons, Trip appeared and then she pretty much friend zoned him at every single instance. Even at the very end... I'm afraid Fitz will be disabled at season 2, either on wheelchair or even completely but I hope this doesn't put him out of the show or degrades his character.

Son of Coul is just awesome. After watching the first few MCU movies, I really did not remembered him. Avengers finally managed to make it clear to me who Coulson was. Despite that, his "death" seem unimportant. Just a plot device. When I started the show, he was just the guy connecting the movies and the show. Nothing more, nothing less. His revival was a bit intriguing, but I didn't expect much. It was much later, after his struggles with the alien, Hydra and Ward's betrayal that I actually enjoyed his character. In the last 3 or 4 episodes. Now, I really don't want him to go mad...

I still hate May though and Trip is just a Good Ward clone and pretty much non-existent. I want to see more from both of them. May was suspicious and cold for more than half the first season and even if she died, nobody would care. I hoped for more interaction with her mother, I wanted to see her soft side but this didn't happen. And Trip just needs more focus. He isn't bad, just really bland.

Fitz gets Tropic Thunder-level reconstructive surgery in order to seduce Simmons, only to be discovered when his colostomy bag ruptures at a most inopportune time.

Current "obvious" SHIELD recruiting list (based on the TV show.):

May's Mom.
Deathlok.

Anyone else that's guested that would make sense for them to bring in?

He was on that dumb Kings show a couple years back, SHIELD is right up his alley.

Really enjoyed the finale though this Skye thing is dragging on too much now. That needs some form of resolution sooner rather than later in S2 cos it's flat out dull.

Fury fucking delivered too. Great seeing him return.

Would have liked at least one other cameo though. Guess it would have been a tough ask for someone lesser of the Avengers to appear like Hawkeye or Black Widow though as Fury's 'bodyguard'. Even if it would have been for a few seconds. Finale and all dat.

Overall, show was way more fun after the Winter Soldier events. I just hope they learn and don't make the first 3/4 or whatever of S2 fucking dull too.

Fitz and Simmons are gonna get married and live happily ever after and actually both change their last name to Fitzsimmons.

Alternate scenario, they change their identities when they become part of the new SHIELD. Simmons chooses Mary Fitzpatrick, in honor of Fitz who saved her life. Fitz chooses Richard Parker after the famous mathematician. Years later, they die in a plane crash leaving behind their only son, Peter. #itsallconnected
