People linking Taskmaster to Ward is mostly wishful thinking I guess, but it could work because hey, why not. He's the perfect type of character that isn't big enough for the movies, but could function very effectively in the TV show.

He's also more of a grey character than straight out villain so you get to have your one of the team was a bad guy moment for the hydra reveal but then you can keep him as a character the fans can get behind when he goes fully rogue/alone/antihero/antivillian mode.

It doesn't have to be Taskmaster but a role like that for Ward in the coming seasons would be good. Have him forced to leave the unit because of his methods (killing SHIELD agents and police men) used to take down Garrett, in an anti-hero role he can show up to fuck the team over or to help them take down a greater threat.

If they go that route the whole first season will obviously be, in retrospect, the origin story for both Jessica Drew and Taskmaster.

It was an origin story all along and we didn't realize it.

Mike Peterson told you it was an origin story in the very first episode.

Taskmaster is a villain and occasional anti-hero in the comics. There is nothing specifically that ties him to ward right now, other than Taskmaster's original origin story being that he was in shield before going on to mercenary/shadier work. His whole deal is that he has "photographic reflexes", which essentially means he can watch someone do something and then replicate it perfectly. So if he were to watch Hawkeye do his thing for a little while, he would become one of the world's best marksman. This wasn't an innate ability, it was something that developed as a result of exposure to something while a shield agent.

There's also the fact that Ward resembles one of the rare appearances of unmasked Taskmaster:

And that Taskmaster had a hand in training Spider-Woman, which ties in to the long-running "Skye is Jessica Drew" theory.

Really liking the Taskmaster/Jessica Drew theories. Probably way too good to be true though.
Do Taskmasters abilities extend to other less physical skills? Like watching Skye do her thing and hack and learning it himself? If so, you would think if he was TM, he'd show more aptitude and computer savy after being around Skye.

Strictly things related to motor control that he can visually process. Doesn't have the "prodigy" type ability to just learn anything.

Hmm, okay.
Well, he at least he should have picked up a few of May's moves since he fought her once. Only way to know for sure is if she confronts him next episode, and they fight to a complete stalemate and she notices it.

this thread goes mroe overboard with spoiler tags that the Game of Thrones one if thats possible.

why are we spoiler tagging stuff from recent episodes, or just wild speculation. speculation isnt a spoiler >_>

There's a line in the episode preview that was released, hence the spoilers surrounding it.

He's becoming a PG-13 handsome Punisher and will also appear in the netfilx shows. Fitz will be killed in the last episode, Coulson and Skye will try to upload his mind in a computer... but the trauma and being friendzoned forever leads to Ultron.
Triplett takes Simmons v-card.

You are an evil genius.

I really don't mind Ward as Taskmaster, TBH. He's a total c-lister with some interesting potential and we don't actually know much about Ward's past, so everything can be easily explained or retconned/tuned if it comes to that. I'm only worried because, holy fuck, you know his suit is going to be BAD.

All you need is the mask. Get that right and nothing else matters.

He once gain the ability to copy any superpower he saw, but hawkeye shut that shit down.

They can use the other suit (I have no idea what it's called)

Girl is 26 brah.

Preeeeetty sure she's gotten the D by now.

Wait so people think this Spider Woman theory could work? Isnt Spider Woman Cinematic owned by Sony?

No, 616 Spider Woman is just some random lady that has nothing to do with Spider Man.
They can probably use her.

Though in the Ultimate Universe she is actually Peter Parker's genetic clone.

Though I really doubt Skye would end up being Spider Woman.

I do wonder if they could call her spider-woman, they'd probably just call her Jessica drew which is fine

I like these taskmaster theories, do we really think they'd be saving him for a movie? Why not use him on the tv show?

After watching these and re-watching Wards fight in episode 17, Rookwood is right.

Wards fight scene is better shot, comes off more brutal and doesn't ignore the fact that the guys he's fighting would have guns(is there a reason no one has a gun in that 2nd vid?).

It easily trumps the last three vids in your post. The fight scene in the first vid is great though, might even edge it out over Wards fight.

I've always found it weird that Spider-Man and Spider-Woman actually have very little to do with each other. Why even name her that then aside from marketing purposes? Like, what's the in-universe explanation?

Yeah. On the whole, Arrow has better action, but that Ward fight was a rare high point.

One of the things I've noticed is that Arrow likes to re-use the same choreography, and mask it with cuts. You'll notice it any time they pull out the escrima sticks, that they're just looping a set pattern of moves. Also, the Arrow vs China White fight in episode 2 where they repeat the same sequence of three or four moves as they circle the set.

According to Stan lee it was mainly so that dc wouldn't be able to make a character named spider-woman

Also her original origin was that she was an evolved spider...yeah

In terms of marketing her comics never sold well, so it kind of backfired if that was the plan

Ultimate Jessica Drew is the best, but if by some random chance the rumor is true (ugh), I doubt it's the Ultimate take.

Ya, Ultimate Jess is way better.

616 Spider-Woman is just team filler, and generic sex appeal.
Though she does both of those pretty well.

Ultimate Spider-Woman over the original "616" version? LOL. GAF really does have a defense force for just about anything. 99% of the Ultimate Universe is hot garbage.

I know. I'm actually stunned reading that anyone would prefer the 616 Version, let alone call Jessica Drew a shit character.

I too like Spider-Woman.

I really doubt that Skye will be Ms Marvel, simply because Ms Marvel is slated to be getting a Marvel film at some point and I doubt that the higher ups have that much faith in AOS.

As much as I do love the new Ms Marvel ongoing, I do hope that they keep Ms Marvel about Carol Danvers (they could just call the film Captain Marvel if they really want to). Our newest Ms Marvel is the inheritor to the mantle, and Carol is the one that carried her own female led solo title for it to even be inherited.
