Air Jordan Collectors...

Off topic:whats every1s favorite sb in the past few years?

:)

Recently, two pairs have stuck out for me that I've bought:

These highs:

And these lows:

Personally I only buy 3's and 4's when it comes to Jordans. They were my favourite shoes to play with when I was growing up and I have fond memories fo them. Maybe the 11's or 12's when they have low versions of them, those might interest me.

I only wear Nike shoes (when it comes to sneakers). I did have to to wear some Adidas gear for a year or two, but those didn't feel good to me at all.

Just bumped into this thread out of curiosity. I remember buying the 3's when they originally came out. I called everywhere and they were sold out except this one place on nostrand ave. (Brooklyn, ny) they ran me like 108 or something. I remember getting a minor scuff on the way home and feeling like " FUCCKKKkkkk" , lol I was a still a kid thinking back, crazy to think I got cash for these somehow.

When 13s come out are they easy to buy in store or do they sell out?

They don't usually sell out immediately, but eventually. You gonna get the Brave Blues?

I like em, but I prefer mid/high top shoes, think I might get the Flints later this year...

Holy. Those blue mids are actually the only ones I'd really want cause I think they had some similar ones when I was a kid. Are they a rerelease

Picked up the Radio Raheem 2s for $75 @ as Nike Outlet yesterday, been wanting a pair for about a year, glad I waited! First pair of twos... think I'll get the Just Wing Its too.

I was so pleased with my Cyber Monday 3s I went ahead and copped the Wools too.

Air-Jordan-34.png

I think they're match this new sweater I just bought and they were only $105 after this ebay coupon (retail was $200). Most people can't pull em off, but I can. ;) I only worry about stains, but I won't be wearing them often. I would had rather had the wool 12s but those are more than I want to pay. Also bought the Just Wing It 2s. I think I'm gonna chill until next month...

Wool 3s are underrated, and 105 is a steal. I think I paid 140.

I don't usually like 12s but I wouldn't mind getting the wools.

Just copped these 14s...

and I'm done buying shoes until next month when the Baron 11s and Pure Money 4s drop. I wish I would have never opened this can of worms again. :(

Any other gaffers get their hands on the Retro Royal 1 release last weekend? Managed to cop. I'm in love:

Also got me a pair of J1 Black Toes coming I bought off StockX.

Already have the OG 13s and the All Star 1s. Next I finally need to get myself a pair of 3s or 4s.

Wow those all look horrible except for the first one. How do people like these shoes?

I don't think anybody really loves every single version. Personally I love all of 1 - 5 and like all of 9 - 14. Dig a few of the others and I actually like the newest XXX1s (probably since they are based on the 1s):

Those are hot. It's a crime they're as bad as they are on the court, though.

So as a guy that has always looked at sneakers but never bought, how hard would it be for me to get a deadstock pair of Flu Games now close to retail?

Not happening, bro. I want a pair of 12s, but they don't really depreciate, I guess they always sell out. I love the royal blues.

Yep. Tbh I like most of the XXXI colorways that have come out. It's a versatile shoe just like the 1 is.

I'd rock all of em. They apparently have bad traction but I don't actually play ball anymore anyway, so I'll prob end up with 1 or two of them eventually lol. Just have bigger fish to fry right now.

They also just showed off the "Why Not?" XXX1s too, which I think are quite cool except for the entire heel being covered in that leopard/cement print:

I was one of those kids that begged my mom to buy me Jordans because all the cool kids were wearing them during the late 80's and early 90's. My mother bought me 3 to 6 and she went to the Slauson swap meet to haggle with the Korean shoe store owners to give me a discount because I got good grades. I was so disgusted with the Space Jam Jordans that I stopped altogether. I had a hunch that Jordans would become collectors, but never did I think they would be re-released and people would pay the money they are now. I also remember that the swap meet store owners had a hard time clearing out older Jordans and would sell them dirt cheap, like the Jordan 1s would be selling for something like $30.

Not gonna be close to retail but safest bet is a place like StockX or Goat. Right now on StockX looks like there is a decent range of sizes available for $240-260. Original retail was $190 so that's a $50-60 premium. Not terrible. Some sizes are much higher though. It's all deadstock (new, unworn) shoes that are verified authentic before they send to you. Goat works the same way and has a bit better customer service and protection (like listing if box is damaged, etc.), but tend to have higher prices on most shoes I've looked into. I've only had one pair of shoes I bought on StockX that failed authentification, but got a full refund on the shoe.

It's funny how marketing can manipulate people and raise the perceived value of a product. Some Jordans cost up to 250 dollars....retail. That's a hell of a lot of money for shoes.

I definitely wanted Js when I was younger, but now I don't really see the point of buying, as the quality of the shoe has gone down in the past 6 years. It's especially amusing how much people go crazy when a new line is released.

Foams cost more than Jordans at retail crazy how it goes.

I don't know how I feel about the 31 in general... but that last design is actually pretty dope.

Anyway I know I said I was done buying until the Pure Moneys drop.. but damn it, I think the 3 might be my new favorite (outisde of the 1). I ended up getting the powder blue joints for a steal...

I wore my wools today and they are lovely.

Ok so since my "vacation" I've copped the Pure Money 4s, the All Star "Hornet" 6s...

and the Powder Blue 3s

maxresdefault.jpg

I passed on the Barons (bought those 6s instead, probably should have waited) but I think I will get the reverse 4 Motorsports.

Also my foot as "shrunk" a whole size since HS as I have been wearing mostly dress shoes for the past 5 years. I used to have really flat feet, but now I have developed an arch... and now I can't fit all my J1s. :( Ohh well, out with the old.

I wear them on my days off and sometimes after work.
All of them? I don’t even have the room for 70 pairs of shoes.

But if it’s your hobby :) go for it.

Why Jordan’s though? What’s so special about them in comparison to other shoes?

I don’t know shit about sneaker collecting, only that some are limited releases and expensive as shit.

I went on a bit of a rampage a few years ago and got the colorways/models I grew up wearing. Ended up with some Chicago 1s, Black/Infrared, Carmine, and Maroon 6s, Aqua 8s and for fun the 72-10 11s. Not too interested in any of the new colorways or other variants, but it's real nice to have the shoes I loved as a kid again. The Aqua 8s especially have a really big place in my heart.

Aqua 8s are dope... I want a pair, but it's kinda at the point where they might retro again in a year or two, but the last retro was decent and resell prices aren't bad. If I can find a pair for retail I'd probably buy. Anyway these just came in today...

As for why I collect Jordans... I am from Chicago, and growing up my parents were not paying for shoes like this for me, so now that I am an adult and can afford to buy pretty much whatever I want, I guess I kinda go OD when it comes to the things I like... but it's like that for everything, clothes, games, movies, etc, etc.. I do wear more than just Jordans, but that's mainly what I wear when it comes to sneakers.

Yes, I'll wear a "womens' shoe, as long as it was originally created for a man. :)

Well obviously not too many people here really care about this shit, but I'm still gonna continue to post here, I guess...

Been a few years since I started collecting again and I have about 100 pairs now... I have acquired most pairs that I have wanted now and there are only a handful of new releases that I care about (Flint 13s being the biggest one for the rest of this year. Will probably also go for the black and yellow 12s). Space is a concern as my closet is nearing it's full capacity, and until I can get a room justdedicated to just my clothes I have to keep that in mind.

Anyway, the return of the black and gold J, one of my favorite colorways after white/blue. Never really cared for the Chicago colorways (black/red and white/red), though I do have some favorites like Bred 11s and Katrina 3s (which I probably won't care about once they retro 88s again). Anyway, here's my latest pick up, DMP 6s!

4jI2Z5V.jpg

I have to say I like them more than Infrareds... for me the gold is just much easier to wear than... pinkish red. I appreciate Infrareds for what they are... the shoe MJ won his first ring in, but I'll probably never wear mine to be honest now that I have these bad boys! PSGs (the black and grey pair) are my favorite 6s though.

Also managed to grab a few pairs of the Court Purple 2.0 Jordan 1, which is the only mens 1s I care about this year. Those satin Chicagos will get bought if given the opportunity.

Also my new favorite 3s came out earlier this year... UNCs!

I used to be all about my shoes up until High School when I stopped giving a fuck, but once the stores open back up I’m buying me some kickass Jordans or something. I tried buying a pair of Kyrie 6’s from FinishLine.com, but like every single time I order shoes online, they didn’t fit and I sent them back. Sucks too because I really liked them.

I don't collect shoes, but I like Jordans. Have always worn basketball shoes my entire life, especially high tops because I rolled my ankles so many times over the years playing basketball through high school and into my college years. I've always loved the Jordan Retro 12 design, they were the "Flu Game" design. My size was sold out on Footlocker.com and Footaction.com but for some reason Eastbay had them in stock and I found that weird because all those sites' stock is interconnected. What happened was individual stores shipped their stock to my from the retail locations rather than a warehouse.

I don't know why this was only done at Eastbay though and why Footlocker or Footaction didn't have this on their site. These were the two I got.

12s are one of my favorites... I like the white/grey pair you got but I passed on them because I already had FIBAS, though I'm not really all that crazy about them to be honest. Last pair of 12s I got were "Blu Games" and they are one of my favorite pairs...

ZIcA2y0.jpg

"Reverse taxis" aren't bad either, but I already have 2 pairs of black 12s so I passed of those.
