Alan Wake 2 on PlayStation 5 Pro – Behind The Scenes

TGO

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
So I have this and I haven't started it yet, should I wait for the Pro or just go ahead..

Utterly impressive..

😂😂😂

Only if they managed to pull this off in the performance mode.. AW2 would've been the first game I'd try on my PS5 PRO..
Wow. RT makes a big difference in that scene.

The images are originally from an old twitter post of PC version with the ray tracing turned on and off. Looks like some Sony fanboy has made this fake comparison image with added color correction and image sharpening.

Started the game on my pc last week. Damn its a gpu heavy game.
Amd 3600 with a rx6800xt. Without fsr this game is very demanding to play smooth

This is frustrating. The whole point of the Pro was to give players fidelity-like image quality at 60fps. But what Sony have done now is given Pro users the same problem yet again - they will toggle between Fidelity and Performance and see the former looking so much better. The cycle is just repeated.

Yeah but the performance mode is an option now again for a lot of people, because it wont look like absolute shit

Lots of games looks pretty low ress in perf modes. Ronin looked pretty bad, new DA looks low ress, MHW, AW2 and the list goes on and on. Even games like spiderman 2 looked pretty blurry in 60 fps mode

Rise of Ronin. I'd like a documentary series on how that game looks so bad, and yet struggles on new hardware. It's truly a feat.

That's exactly what they have done. They've given Fidelity quality at 60fps. Every game shown so far has shown this clearly. I'm baffled how people are getting confused.

Aside from FF7Rebirth, when was that really a significant issue?

Many games. LotF, AoS2, Dragon Age, IoA etc.

Basically every high demanding game.

So it's performance mode with better image quality most of the time, not quality mode.

Oh yeah and outlaws, that game looked awful too. Pro should improve a lot of things there, image quality, RT quality in perf mode, framerate etc. Im waiting for their big november patch, probably thats the pro patch too
