If I had it my way, Slaine would be dead all ready.

Episode 8
That was pretty entertaining. It was surprisingly over the top and fun considering how there wasn't even a real mecha battle. Felt like 24 minutes of something you would find in a Metal Gear Solid game - exposition, flashbacks, characters talking about how beautiful things can be, long ass torture sequence, and then a big plot turn at the end. I'll definitely like more of this in future. Slaine is definitely being developed as a survivor type character. Being able to take that much punishment is good news, because I don't really want to see him in a mech - I want to see him going melee and guns on the Martian traitors. Much more satisfying.
I wonder if they're setting up Saazbum as the main villain for this season. It would be nice to see them take him out by ep13 or something. As if it wasn't obvious enough that Aniplex really wants this to be their Gundam clone, his mech looks so much like the Banshee in Unicorn. Lol.

I am disappointed that we have not yet had an opportunity to see the Deucalion kick some ass. It's been like 2 episodes since they found it guys, throw us a frickin' bone here!
It had it's Aldnoah drive removed to power the Shark with a Jetpack. Maybe it'll be Slaine's mecha later. Or just a red herring.
Deucalion is the ship, not the mech. No one gives a shit about the mech!
If Inaho were so capable, he would have beaten the mech last week himself without needing help!

Actually, I think they both have that name. The Martians used it when they reported that it had its drive removed to Cruhteo.
So I've watched this until episode 5; is this going to pick up in terms of mech design and such? Because I hate mech the heroes use
Other than that, I enjoy some of the action and the music.
what do you mean "wat", the green and orange earthlings mechs are super ugly. I don't care if they're more "realistic", who cares about that for mechs, Aldnoah magic? That's how they stand.wat? those are some of the better looking ones in the series. The others make you wonder how the fuck do they even stand.
Though the wings on the legs of the Earth force units are a bit stupid.

Pretty much.So I am only halfway done through the episode but is it explained howSlaine was captured by Cruhteoh? Did Inaho just destroy the ship and leave it in the ocean?

Just started watching this. Please tell me the main character actually gets...you know, some character. The way he just casually said "Oh, a missile"...I mean, they do realize no one likes these super stoic cliched main characters, right?
We're 8 episodes in and Inaho still has the personality of a brick.
Join #TeamSlaine to support the superior character.
I'm actually really liking my shifting attitude between Slaine and Inaho. At first I liked Inaho and hated Slaine. Then in 7 I disliked Inaho and liked Slaine. Now I actually like both of them.
I did not expect the events of 7 and 8 to unfold like they did.
I'm really loving the show.
That's kind of the point of him? He's supposed to be a cold, logical person who exploits weakness to meet his personal goals.
Inaho is a terrible, boring character
Fuck Inaho for leaving Slaine behind to get captured. Dick move.
And does anyone else not like the redhead? I'm half expecting Inaho to run over her traitorous terrorist ass.
Anything else than the fucking Shinji clones is good for me. I have no problem with Inaho, he gets the job done, it's refreshing.

Same here. Best mecha lead in a long long time
Meh. I like lead who's competent (but not omnipotent) and can reign in his emotions instead of turning into wet blanket.Oh god no Inaho is a terrible gary stu lead with virtually no personality or flaws, the magic solution to all combat situation, and has every girl starting to show interest in him.
Virtually every mech series I've seen in the past 2 years has had a better lead. The last truly great one was the lead of Gargantia
We may disagree about Sugu in SAO but I can wholeheartedly agree with you here.Oh god no Inaho is a terrible gary stu lead with virtually no personality or flaws, the magic solution to all combat situation, and has every girl starting to show interest in him.

Gonna lol if Crutheo ends up being like this guy.

Expecting that too. Crutheo will become another Orange-kun.
I like characters like that...a lot.
Same here. I've had enough of whiny brats as mecha anime leads. Bring in TermInahoI like characters like that...a lot.
