All hail Knack

I'm not a hater, but it's really underwhelming both as a showcase for the PS4 and as a 1st party platformer. If you forget that it's a Mark Cerny game, it's decent fun.

Edit: Oh wait this is just a le funyy maymay thread.

Given your post history, I'm surprised you've actually played it.

You haven't answered my question. Not that I expected you to, of course.

Played a demo of both games....don't have a PS4 yet. Me and my friend with some Nintendo chick/representative. I felt bad. She was trying so hard to make the it seem like the game was fun till me and friend just stared at her and she gave in. See not even Nintendo representatives find it fun ;)

Knack felt like you were playing Ratchet and Clank with just your wrench with worse controls, art design, level design and platforming.

Interesting.

So really, there's not just two factions here. It's not the Knack army, and the already dead Mario one, but there is a third faction that seems to be operating from the shadows. This is the one that hates all life itself, the most dangerous of them all.

This is like the late story twist that all of a sudden blows people's minds, and makes them realise they've only seen the tip of the iceberg.

Knack is god. Knack is love.

Seriously though, love this game. Hit all the right marks and was a ton of fun in co-op with my son and I.
It's one of the best games for him to play too as it has an immediate difficulty curve without factors external to his struggle getting in his way, unlike the Mario games with their mandatory timers. If he fails it's because he allowed that enemy to hit him, nothing more nothing less. Which is why he keeps coming back to it time after time.

A Crash 1 -> Crash 2 leap in content/time for a sequel would do really well, both commerically and critically I bet. The core of a great franchise is there if Sony can get the right people working on it (someone other than Cerny has to spearhead the project, he doesn't have that kind of time or focus).

Wait, this cant be true. There's no way. I dont believe it. SM3DW is some of the most fun I've had in a while.
At worst, when you turned your faces to the representative, she saw the empty black voids that should have been your eyes begin to suck all enjoyment from the room, and felt it was best to placate the abyss with feined tacit agreement, but there's no way there's more than two people in the world who can genuinely say SM3DW is just "not fun".

Well, I guess while I'm already getting weirdly religious...

This is it. This is the apex.

Horribly forced meme thread.
Blasphemy

Cerny must be proud.

I imagine him pitching it to Sony saying that it was going to outsell Mario in Japan and that PS4 was going to be the best selling console ever on its first year. And the Sony folks laughing.

I enjoyed the game. Wasn't perfect and I want going to replay for the plat at all but it was fun.

Hope they do a second.

Also, Lego Knack.

So who cares if you had fun.....I'm saying we did not. She wasn't being kind lol. You can tell when someone is forcing themselves and she was trying her hardest to hype up the cat costume, when all she was doing was running up walls. Me and my friend in response just stared at her, subtly smiling with expressions saying "really" and she saw our faces and started laughing admitting that she did not enjoy the game and how she 's been demoing it for hours. Poor representative.

If SM3D and Knack are life and I refuse to live such a life. Thats not living.......thats enduring.

First post with my new avatar. Hear me loud and clear.

I WILL WEAR IT WITH PRIDE.

I may even keep it till TLG resurfaces, bet or no bet.

Knack was alright. Kinda shallow, but it was probably a better choice than the other launch PS4 titles. If there is a sequel, it better remove the shallowness.

Still haven't bothered to beat the game.

Just bought knack actually as I gave my 5 year old my ps4 so got him knack and batman Lego.

Knack seems fun only holds his attention for short bursts though

Looks like the WiiU is still dominating my living room

Knack,Knack...who's there... :P

Didn't play this and I was surprised when it came out that a lot of people where saying it was the Dark Souls of platformers....is it really that hard....?

First an important note: it isn't a platformer. There is minimal platforming, it is more like a brawler.

Yes it is hard. It requires mastery as Knack can often be killed in one or two hits, and checkpoints aren't close together. Souls comparisons can be made in needing to find the right time to attack. I think I found it more difficult than Souls games though I don't find Souls games especially hard.

One of the worst designed character in the entire videogame history, I don't undertand how did they come up with this thing.

^^ Yea what he said. Knack was controller smashing tough at times but it was the kind where it made me want to beat it's ass :) From what I heard is it also takes several plays to get the plat so I just gave up.

Is this a joke thread? Sure seems like it.

Anyway, I wish a Sony would make this a PS+ game. It's been a year now.

What is the cheapest you can get this game for anyway?

I JUST finished beating Knack. Great game honestly.
Only thing is the difficulty on Hard was pretty ridiculous at times and it was REALLY long.
Over all though I give it a 8/10. Especially for co-op.

People don't fully realize how ahead of it's time, Knack really was. Only in 2018 will you see the profound effects Knack had on gaming as a whole.
