I was using some numbers based off comments on the gi biz articles, happy to quickly change it if you are interestedThey will have to get a better than 60:20:20 to have a substancial increase in revenue.
Or attract more users that PSNow alone was not doing.
There’s never going to be a day and date option as long as games are selling like hotcakes.
Even bigger joke is needing a subscription to play PSone, PS2 and PSP games. Somehow I really doubt the emulator will be any good.
Sony has been doing just fine with releasing good games and people buying them. I think they will be just fine.War inbound.
Quite frankly I do not care, the sudden all that it matters is who service is better/biggest install base. Non issue for me
I just want play games...

We gonna need a dedicated thread in communities to stop all this tiered PS+ thread clutter.
PS sales is due to userbase numbers. One of the reasons why Microsoft put first party games on Gamepass day one is because the majority of them just were not pulling in numbers like PlayStation and Nintendo games. When most of your first party offerings sell millions of units each time, you don’t need to put them on a subscription service because people are willing to pay good money for them.
Imho, putting Sony’s first party games would be crazy because I’m assuming they will lose a ton of money off them and I’m sure their very expensive to create. Maybe they’ll come later, but day one wouldn’t make sense financially.
So time limited demo. Could be cool for a holistic approach to the library and not just 1st party. That 5 hour cyberpunk demo is a good example and roped in a few people to buy in eventually.
What do you disagree here with? A similar service with day 1 releases will have a much easier time bringing in new customers.Analysts are so far removed from the world .. it’s scary .
I would agree that it will not have the same pull as GP. I would disagree that it really matters in the grand scheme of things though. I've never heard anyone use their voice to tell me they were buying one of 3 consoles because of subscription options yet.
For me as well I’d definitely be saying the £99 option would include all of Destiny 2’s expansions and future expansions day one. I think that’d be a great hook to get people in.
I see what you did. My favorite post of the day.We gonna need a dedicated thread in communities to stop all this tiered PS+ thread clutter.
Simply put, Sony doesn't see the strategic or financial benefit in investing in PS3 emulation.
Not many others on the platform have sold like Halo 5 thoughPS sales is due to userbase numbers.
Xbox has half of Ps userbase. Yet, Halo 5 sold 9.5m.
That is almost 19m copies, if they had Sony userbase.
Its not because their games don't sell well.
I second this theory on how demos are viewed.Yeah but they only want these for people paying $18 / month because I am pretty sure overall the industry sees demos as a negative for sales.
Because the numbers make it that way.Not many others on the platform have sold like Halo 5 though
Yeah, matt from the NPD group did say that aaa publishers generally don't like these demos.Yeah but they only want these for people paying $18 / month because I am pretty sure overall the industry sees demos as a negative for sales.
Targeting only those willing to pay the most, targets the wealthier gamers who aren't trying to squeeze value out of their console w/ demos and F2P games. Kids/teens/otherwise poor people are not allowed lol
Did some quick whatifs on possible revenue increase.
I would like to see constant and wide spread consumer behaviour surveys on this topic.I would agree that it will not have the same pull as GP. I would disagree that it really matters in the grand scheme of things though. I've never heard anyone use their voice to tell me they were buying one of 3 consoles because of subscription options yet.

Yeah I think this kind of thing may be the path (or it should). I have given up trying to keep up with all the various expansions and get pissed off that they remove content paid for, so including it in PS+ may make it more accessible in that sense. For me as well I’d definitely be saying the £99 option would include all of Destiny 2’s expansions and future expansions day one. I think that’d be a great hook to get people in.
340 retro games probably means 300 PS3 games and 15 games each of PS1 and PS2, and 10 PSP games.340 PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3 games combined seems rather low, even if you only cherry pick the top games.
Best case scenario would be 80 games available per classic console library, but its not likely going to be divided up evenly.
I can agree with this. They are more consistent. Saying that Xbox don't have enough quality on their internal studios is what made me lolOn top of quality wise PlayStation has been more consistent.
Choose Xbox solely because of gamepass, was previously a PC player focused on MMOsI would agree that it will not have the same pull as GP. I would disagree that it really matters in the grand scheme of things though. I've never heard anyone use their voice to tell me they were buying one of 3 consoles because of subscription options yet.
