Not too convinced with the art, but Morrison...damn.

And it looks like they are taking some pre-Crisis inspiration with Luthor by possibly making him the mad scientist again.

Why is the Super Penis so super in the last pic?

Seriously, it's so evident, Luthor could see it without even being there. Isn't Frank Quietly supposed to be a damn good artist?

You guys are all talking about the art, but am I the only one that thinks that dialogue is atrocious?

It's weird; Frank Quietly's art seems to get worse and worse every time he does something new. SOOOOO ugly. :/

"Not if I can help it"

"So if i want to die Happy, it's time to get serious about killing superman....

Dont you think"

What the fuck? You couldn't get worse dialogue, but the Penis makes the page.

What exactly is this supposed to be? I heard it was DC's version of Marvel's "Ultimate" Line but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The All Star line are books outside the main continuity, but there won't be any connection between each All Star book so you won't see All Star Batman in the All Star Superman book. Their main focus is on the iconic elements of the title characters.

I read that Quitely admitted that he only just recently started on issue #2. There is absolutely no way in hell this book will maintain a semi decent schedule.

Bah, I loved Luthor's dialogue, love the setup-- and Quitely's not the greatest, but hes OK.

All Star Batman and Robin did nothing for me, though, mostly due to Miller's one-note Batman.

I'm not too fond of Superman to begin with...And that art style almost gaurantees that I won't be picking up any of the All-Star Superman comics.

Thanks. It sounds like an interesting premise, however it won't do much for a non-DC reader like me. DC's continuity is even deeper than Marvel's (which is what I read growing up) so jumping on now would be a little tough.

This looks fantastic.

It's pretty sad to find guys panning Quitely, while alternately, jizzing over Jim Lee. It seems like we can't get rid of the 90s even if we want to.

Thank you for confirming that... no interest here. Reading books outside of continuity always seemed like a waste of time to me.

Problem is Quitely just isn't the guy to send in to draw superheroes. The difference between his Vertigo stuff and this shit is night and day. I don't have the urge to attack my eyes with a spoon when I see his non hero work.

He reminds me of a really shit Heavy Metal illustrator. :/

You want to talk about comic nerds getting what they deserve, check out that Vampirella 25¢ book that came out last week. Fucking geometry titties. God damn Jim Lee! >:|

I don't think that's entirely accurate as I seem to remember reading that Miller was planning on using Superman in his book.

But the Superman in All Star Batman & Robin has no connection to the Superman in All Star Superman (or the regular continuity Superman).

God I *HATE* the All Star Supes look, the chin just .....ugh, the face looks awful! The story looks pretty interesting from the little I've seen though.:)
