I agree.I always think there needs to be a balance. People desperately wanted Poison in Street Fighter games for years, and no one cried SJW propaganda. Diversity is fine, but don't go out there and change character's race or sexuality just because you want to add more gay, black, trans or Asian characters.
That's the thing though. At some point there are people who will cry foul at ANY instance of this as reaction just from being on edge about it in other media.
At what point would it be unreasonable to assume it's SJW agenda just because the main character in a game is gay?
At what point is being upset or mocking a romance between gay characters in an original written storyline, more about a person's personal hangups than political pandering?
Especially when those characters are written with a fair amount of depth and flaws, and aren't just virtuous Mary Sues.
There can be nuance here, I certainly can understand being skeptical, but the issue is that some people will immediately draw lines and declare something be this way or that way, even when it might not be.
So it is about Joel being killed, got it. Don't know why you were bullshiting with all those another reasons.Being killed early in the game, and being used as revenge is a important role, LMAO. thats like the least important role in most movies.
This is a continuation of the storyline from the first game, Joel being killed earlier in this game doesn't make his death any less significant, so I'm not understanding your logic.
His death would be significant because of how he and Ellie's relationship were built up over the course of the first game.
The player growing familiar with these characters would also be impacted by this revelation. If you aren't actually invested in a character in the story then it wouldn't really matter to you if they die earlier or later.
