I think this game sounds horrible and I lost interest at the E3 reveal when Ellie's sexual orientation seemed to be the main focus.

That said a ton of people will still buy and love this game and for those that don't I can't see any reason why this game would have any effect whatsoever on the popularity of other linear SP or any other Sony games.

There are folks who wont play Wolfenstein because of the sequnce where the player was forced to kill their dog in effirt to show what a bad guy your dad was. Some people resent deeply that kind of forced behaviour. Ymmv, of course.

Not just the knife swings... how can anyone say that the animations are good? Most of them look so floaty and weak. Like here in the fight and the scene with Joel getting beaten. If those are final then it's not only the story being a complete joke.

I can see that. I hated that scene in Wolfenstein, but Ellie annoyed the shit out of me for most the 1st game so personally I wouldn't have much of a problem bashing her her brains in, but I can see how other people could be really pissed about it. I'd be far more irritated about Joel getting killed and the overall really bad YA/daytime soap opera story.

Yeah since it's kinda relevant, I'll say it. I'm starting to see why people talk about a lack of attractive women in games lately.

Not saying I want supermodels everywhere. Not saying that at all. Just saying I'm starting to notice a lot of manly female characters, or female characters where it's plain to see that the developers toned down the actors attractiveness or more feminine features. Control was a very obvious recent example. Courtney Hope is a beautiful woman. Beth in Quantum Break was beautiful. It's fair to say that Jesse Faden was not.

& Now Ellie's looking more than a little bit like a boy & this Abby's just a tank with a square jaw & a flat chest.

Yeah, this story, the new characters, the conflict, it all sounds pretty meh to me. As much as I enjoyed the first one, I remember practically rolling my eyes at all the excessive praise it got like it was the best game ever made. It was good sure, maybe even great, but like THAT? Nah, at least not IMO.

So, from what I'm gathering, the story is going to be worse, and the gameplay could potentially be better. Ah yes, the backwards treatment, lmao.

Nothing about this is a need for me, I'll probably just watch the whole damn playthrough online and then buy Ghost of Tsushima instead.
