Am I the only one who hates hot weather?

Seriously, what's the big fucking deal with summer weather? And I'm not talking about 100+, I mean 80s and 90s. Why do people love it so much? What is so great about blistering heat and breaking into a sweat from stepping outside for a minute? It's nice when you're on a vacation in Mexico or something, but living in it is the shits. A muggy day in the 90s with no breeze is a living hell. Am I the only one who prefers mid-60s thu 70s, and the occassional 50s? Give me a 67degree day with a light breeze and few cumulus clouds in the sky over this summer heat crap any day. I like being able to wear a light jacket anyway. Now that I'm out of school and "summer break" has no meaning to me, bring on October.

No, you're not the only one. 68-73 degrees is my comfort zone, and is-- objectively-- the best temperature range there is. ;)

I utterly despise hot weather, and go out of my way to make sure that I don't live in a hot state. I'd much rather be cold than hot, the way I see it, when you're cold you can always build a fire or put on another blanket or layer, when you're hot there's only so much you can take off.

I'm with you. If I had to choose, I'd pick cold weather in a heartbeat -- I can put on as many clothes as I need to feel comfortable. In the heat, there's only so much I can take off (EDIT - You beat me, Ronito :) ).

Although I think humidity is even worse than hot temperatures.

I'd love to live somewhere where it rains often (not enough to like flood, but enough to put me to sleep at night :p)
Also, somewhat cold.

Oh hell no you aren't. Cincinanti area this week is fully in the upper eighties, with temps in the nineties by the weekend. I am a jogger, and let me tell you it sucks. With the humidity around here, it is like hell on earth. You start sweatng about 10 steps in.

Don't get me wrong, I'm fucking sick of snow and especially ice.....which makes living in Wisconsin a pain in the ass especially when you have a car. I just wish I lived somewhere where it was 50-75 all year round.

I hate heat. Granted, I hate humidity too, but they both suck balls. But more than that I hate 'sunny.' I have extremely pale skin with the inability to tan and if its like 75 outside and sunny I can feel my skin burning.

I like it to be 65 and overcast.

Live in Florida. I LOVE THE HEAT!!!!

The only time it is too hot is "when I am walking outside and think to myself 'I think I should have put deoderant on my balls'" -Lewis Black.

I'm with you demon. I hate hot weather as well. If I could live in a place with little rain and 60-72 degree weather all the time that would be great!

Yes I hate hot weather... but I do like to spend time at the beach. It's 91 degrees where I am in Minnesota right now, not a cloud in sight, and all I can really do is lie on my deck and try in vain to get some sort of tan, and I still sweat like crazy and i'm not even moving. Which sucks, because I planned to put some air in my bike's tires and ride it. :(

If there was a beach nearby I'd definitely be there right now, though.

I just don't like when it's hot AND humid. In the high twenties it's not too bad. Good way to get some vitamin D.

I've known for quite some time that I will probably end up in Washington. But for now, I live near chicago, but will be moving out to North Carolina soon :(

hot weather is nice when you can just lounge around, go to the beach or hang around the pool. When you have to go to work or some shit like that, its miserable. I much prefer the cold (or cooler, like 50-60 degrees) weather of the fall/winter, where you can just throw on a sweater and be comfortable.

That's the killer part of Florida.. the humidity. It's currently at 84% in Orlando. 80-fucking-4%! It's been completely overcast lately in Central Florida though, so the highs have been in the mid 80s.. but I'm going back to Tallahassee in a few days and it's a high of 95 there today. No fun.

It's cliche, but:

It really isn't the heat, it's the humidity.

Always believed it, know it now for sure. I've lived in the upper midwest most of my life, but have spent time in the deep south too. But after recently moving to New Mexico, I find that 90 degrees and 15% humidity is great. Plus where I'm at it seems to cool down to around 60 degrees at night.

Worst has been central Illinois, damn day after day of 90 degrees + and 90 percent humidty I thought was going to kill me. Even Chicago gets oppressive in the summer. How people ever lived in places like New Orleans or Houston before air conditioning is beyond me.

Heat rash+Pale skin that burns and bubbles = I hate hot(dry) weather :-(

Tropical humid weather is ok though. I don't seem to get burns and rash from it for some reason. O_O

I'm a winter mofo hands-down! LOVE my snow....plus snow, and cold temps(like a good soaking rain) is like a natural crowd-icide(which does wonders for my social anxiety)...Summer=tons of people out(and I live across the street from a playground)...loud ass music, loud ass ghetto ass motorcycles, which in turn set off the loud ass car alarms...loud ass kids in an endless sugar high with too much time on their hands, tons of insects, those DAMNABLE ICE CREAM TRUCKS WITH THOSE INCESSANT MELODIES BLARING OUT OF A TIN CAN SPEAKER, goodness, the low-fidelity is so palpable...Winter=silience, stillness, the air is cleaner/clearer, no insects, the beauty of snowfall, the joy of the holidays, my birthday(so a lot of new game consoles/new games memories are tied to the Winter time).

Summer has its moments though, at least nostalgically speaking...there was nothing like coming home from summer camp as a kid to an air conditioned home, an ice cold glass of iced tea, and kicking back with some Ducktales! And for some reason I do feel the urge to hang out a lot with my friends this summer...check out the Aquarium, Coney Island(aside from pungent blend of Cotton Candy and Bum Piss), the Bronx Zoo, whatever...I want to have a memorable summer this year...but yeah, NYC Summer Heat&Humidity and all of the other associated annoyances listed above, are definitely not for me. Maybe if I ever get rich i'll have a newfound love for Summer...then I can vacation all the time.

Only recently have I loathed it.

I can take heat when I'm outside. But when I'm on my PC or playing games or studying inside...hells no.

I'm in a 60+ year old apartment building for Summer school and they have the window air conditioning units. Insulation is poor so it doesn't keep the cool air long. So air conditioner is on all the time. I'm in an efficiency, so everything I do is next to that air conditioner. And it's loud as hell.

So every few days I end up having to wear ear plugs because my ears start hurting.

The weather out here is always 100+ (usually 120 degrees) and absolutely unbearable. I <3 air conditioning. :lol

I wish I lived in the bay area; the heat rarely gets this bad out there.

I am obviously in the minority here, but I love hot weather.

I like being outdoors and playing sports and I like it even more when it is hot. There is such a thing as too hot though. Anything over lets say 92 with a lot of humidity is starting to push it. I really envy people in SoCal. It is warm over there almost everyday and perfect for outdoor activities. If I had family there I would move in a second.

I do hate heat when I am trying to sleep too, but everywhere that is hot has air conditioning so that isn't really a problem.

Winter all the way. Hot sucks ass. It's pretty easy to warm up if you're cold, but cooling down is pretty hard to do.

Although logical in terms of comfort, it makes little sense in the way of outdoor recreation unless skiing and snowboarding are your thing. (And they're certainly not mine.)

Not to be coy, but if that's happening to you, you need to get in shape and possibly lose a little weight. Serious. You shouldn't sweat that easy that fast.

I love the weather being in the 80's... it's just so nice out and the sun feels so good on the skin. Here in Oklahoma though, we have hella nice winds and breezes (remember the song? winds come sweeping down the plains biatches) so that makes 80's very comfy feeling.

Oh what I wouldn't give to be hating on 80s and 90s. It's in the triple digits here.

I prefer colder weather all the way. You can wear warm clothes and be just fine. Even in shorts and a tank top I'm miserable today and there's not much I can do about it. And my LCD monitor starts rippling if I use it for too long. Also, cold air is better for you to breathe.

I'm moving to the Yukon. Who's with me? We'll start a real life GAF cold weather community up there. :D
