Andrew Wooten had a goal for Sandhausen, as did 20 year old Israeli-American Kenny Saief in his second game for Gent in Belgium.

Portland got screwed yesterday by the refs too, giving Colorado a PK for what clearly was not a handball.

That was a bad call, it shouldn't have been a PK. But then there should have been a PK against Kah later in the game, so that game wasn't as bad as Toronto getting denied two points they deserved.

Yeah, it wasn't as bad as the Toronto situation. But honestly, you can't really level these sorts of things out. When they first gave up the PK, it changed the flow of the game entirely. It changes the mentality of the game. Suddenly the teams are level, and you force the team that was in the lead to play the game differently. It fucked everything up.

Landon Donovan for the American voice of soccer for FOX.

Martin Tyler certainly is a famous announcer in the soccer world, but I think Ian Darke might be a better choice. Ever since 2010, he's been the "British" voice of us soccer, and fans here would probably recognize him more.

But FIFA...

I mentioned Tyler because they already have a relationship with him through the FOX-Sky partnership.

I would rather not watch a game than have Donovan announce it. He's the least charismatic person ever. A chore to listen to.

Ian Darke is insufferable

Is Sacramento destined for an MLS team? Handicappers like the city’s chances

Rubin played 90 minutes yesterday in the 0-0 draw against The Hague.

The opponent played a very defensive game making it hard for Rubin to make an impact.

His goal calls are pretty good, but he gets stuff mixed up a lot more than he should. Martin Tyler and Jon Champion are the gold standard of soccer announcing and I hope one of them, if not both, will feature for Fox down the line.

ESPN's real mistake is not giving Derek Rae the Premier League when they had the rights. He's done tremendous work for ESPN over the years, and he should've gotten a shot to be "the" British soccer announcer here in the States.

If we have to have an American voice, Phil Schoen's been great for BeIN announcing La Liga. Like him a lot.

He said it best himself: "Landon Donovan looks as comfortable on camera as someone on video asking for their own ransom."

“In the case of Sacha Kljestan, he wanted to come to MLS and play for six months and live in Los Angeles so that he could then go back to Anderlecht [his current club],” Garber continued. “We are not going to sign a six-month contract with any player, whether Bruce Arena wants us to or not. His comments were false and inappropriate and will be dealt with … It will be a major fine.”

Kljestan’s agent, Richard Motzkin, said several clubs had been interested in Kljestan, both in Europe and in MLS, adding: “Had the right opportunity for Sacha presented itself within MLS, then he would have been prepared to commit long-term to the league. However, that was not the case at the time.”

MLS rejected the Kljestan deal because of how short the deal was going to be.

You left out the best part:

he grew animated when asked to respond to Arena’s comments. “Bruce has the opportunity to be our Tom Landry, our Pat Riley, and he continually puts himself in a position where he acts unprofessionally and he emotionally misstates the facts,” Garber told SI.com last Thursday. “And I think that’s a shame.”

US Open Cup final is in an hour or so.
