Ugh. Through the weekend before we know.

I'm so tired of talking about it. That and the NFL Draft. Just get them over with already because it's wearing me out.

Oh Eddie. This isn't really going to endear you to anyone.

Do we reallllllly need Rimando? Wouldn't it be worth the risk to ditch the 3rd gk, and add a more valuable player in more valuable positions?

It's a FIFA rule:
Article 26.3 of FIFA’s World Cup Regulations states: “Each association will be required to provide FIFA with a final [squad] list of no more than 23 players (three of whom shall be goalkeepers).”

didn't North Korea or someone else get around that rule by designating a field player a third goalkeeper?

It backfired on them.

North Korea have been told by Fifa that Kim Myong-won will only be able to play as a goalkeeper in the World Cup and not in his usual role as a striker.

The North Korean coach, Kim Jong-hun decided to name only two regular goalkeepers in his squad with Kim, who plays for Amrokgang, as the back-up.

It was seen as an attempt to boost the nation's attacking options as they prepare to face Brazil, Ivory Coast and Portugal in Group G.

However, the move has backfired spectacularly after Fifa confirmed that Kim will only be allowed to play as a goalkeeper, not as an outfield player. Unless there is an injury, no changes will be permitted to their final squad.

In a statement, world football's governing body said: "The squad lists that the teams had provided to Fifa by 1 June 2010 are final and can no longer be changed. On the final lists must be no more than 23 players, three of whom shall be goalkeepers.

"The only exception is in the case of a serious injury of a player in the list of 23, who could be replaced up until 24 hours before the first match of the team in the competition.

"The three players listed as goalkeepers can only play as goalkeepers during the World Cup and cannot play outfield. This will be communicated to the teams in the team arrival meetings and will be enforced on match days."

The statement added: "Kim Myong-won will not be allowed to play as an outfield player if he has been put on the list as a goalkeeper."

This is why I'm always for a return back to MLS

Kljestan is about to get ousted by a 16 year old. The kid is good no doubt, but that's gotta suck for his confidence.

MLS is pretty much the only league that is about developing American talent. Players in Europe get ousted for pretty much anything.

seems like Altidore missed another sitter today. The form of our main striker is worrying. I don't like how Klinsmann has suggested that he is more or less going to start.

Funny how he complained about sunderland being a difficult team to play for yet they start to score and win games once he was removed from the lineup.

Still, let's hope he somehow manages to score on Azerbaijan and gains some confidence back.

Went to Detroit City FC's Open Cup match tonight and was treated to one of the craziest things I've ever seen - match goes to extra time after RWB Adria scores in the last play of the damn game, Detroit loses a player to injury after using all subs, RWB Adria gets a player sent off, then after a fight in the box where one of their players literally punches a DCFC player two more are sent off and the game finishes 9 v 9 before penalties, where we lose. Heartbreaking but was nuts.
