I think you might be right that daily dose is actually mariotheplumber aka John. His action now suddenly made sense since he want to retaliate back to collectors here for shitting on scalpers.

Just got the email that my Pit pre-order from Walmart shipped. Placed the order on black friday when it started to become apparent that there was going to be some scarcity w/ alot of these Amiibo, and Pit has been my #1 want since I first heard about Amiibo back in the summer.

For those of you still hunting maybe this means Pit will be showing up at some random Walmarts retail soon?

I thought it was pretty obvious honestly. His first posts were in this thread right at the time he mentioned to somebody he just got approved. Then he skirted around the fact that he himself was a scalper (remember he has 100 rosalinas supposedly) and was fixated on trying to equate collecting to scalping, trying to justfy it in his mind. It's why I asked him how many amiibos he has bought to resell since his argument was that it's supposed to be all for the fans, which he never answered. I'm actually surprised though he managed to hold his temper while here because that doesn't seem like something he is good at.

Anyway, with that I guess we can get back to what the discussion is supposed to be about, amiibos.
 
My local Walmart JUST today got their first shipment of Wave 2 amiibos -- Luigi and Zelda. Amazing how these things can't seem to show up in any predictable time frame.

Also anecdotally, haven't seen a single Pit in town, although I know second-hand that my Gamestop got 2 of them which sold immediately.

Agreed! Is anyone whiff-waffling on Amiibo regret? Yesterday or the day before, I woke up in severe Amiibo regret. Today, I woke up and said, man I wish I could get my next amiibo's already, and where the hell is wave 4 to order? What am I doing with my life? Actually, that's not a serious question. LOL :-) I have a 1 year old daughter and we look at the figures sometimes together. She loves them (They are boxed). My fear is one day, she's gonna be tall enough and rip open all the boxes. I will have to do my best to prevent that. LOL

I still have that second damaged boxed Pit that I'm deciding on whether or not to open. I think training commons are alright, but if I go somewhere and have a Pit, now that's something! :-) (I'm never going anywhere, and none of my friends that come over are into Smash). LOL My nephew likes it so I guess that's one :-).

My brother got into Amiibos around the same time I did. He texted me the other day to say he's bought a few Disney Infinity figurines now too, he doesn't own the game or the portal, just the figures. I went to Toys R Us with my daughter later that day and thought, "Yeah, these look pretty good, maybe I should pick up an Aladdin or something."

I didn't, but dang, Amiibos are dangerous.

I, for one, cannot wait to get my hands on more. It's kinda sad that at this point I'm more excited about future wave announcements than game announcements... lol I would love to hear news of an amiibo game, though.
 
I found a site that is selling Little Mac and Captain Falcons saying they are getting stock in January. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the link but the store name is Entertainment Earth.

Have you guys ordered from them? Are they reputable?
 
After initially canceling my Captain Falcon pre-order, TRU fulfilled it. This is after I made a Target run a couple weeks ago and found two.

So now I have 3 Caps. Does anyone want to straight trade for one? I will most likely want / need a Rosalina.

I have seen people order from them in this thread yeah. Some people said they have been around for years and are reputable. Though as I recall, they canceled many of the Marth, Villager, WFT orders people made. It seems like they allow orders even if they are not sure if they will get more in stock.

Gotcha...thanks. Good info. I'll assume then that my orders will be cancelled but since they say that they don't charge until its in stock and ships, I'll keep the order.

Yup. Amiibo were my first figures aside from figuarts Mario. Once I completed the original 12/18...

I bought Figma Link and Samus. Preordered Lucina.
I bought Nendoroid Link, Luigi, Sinon and preordered Mario.
I bought Lucario figuarts and those same Kirby figures.
I bought everything I could find from the Jakks Nintendo line.
I bought numerous Mario plushies from AmiAmi too.

I'm pretty much in debt thanks to Amiibo.

I have the whole wave 3 preordered

Well, I didn't pay attention to his early posts. Since you pointed it out, yeah it seem to be obvious.

I'm glad that the case is closed and we can go back to Amiibo business.
 
Pre-ordered the Sonic amiibo when I went to see if GS was taking pre-orders for Majora's Mask 3D LE. Might pre-order Mega Man when I have the chance/funds.

If so @MarioTehPlumber(who is clearly reading the thread) when you make your next (inevtible) video on why you got banned on NeoGAF and how horrible this place is (with swearing) and how lame Amiibo hunters are and you screen cap this thread, can you make sure to screen cap me clearly image, thanks. I wanna be a part of it.

I had $45 in GS giftcards, so I went over there to put the money towards some amiibos. I have Shulk, Ike, Megaman fully paid, with some money down on Sonic. I still have Toon Link and Sheik I need to pay for.

All in all here's how it's looking for wave 3 for me:

My Pit made it in from TRU today, everything is in good condition. That leaves Wii Fit Trainer and Villager as the only ones I am missing, and I am just going to import them at this point.

My account was activated on the same day as him and I was scared to post something in case I would be pointed out as him!

Any who, my name is obviously in my user name. I read ALL posts from the previous thread and it has been a delight & pretty exciting. Hopefully I get to learn how to use the thread tools like hiding links and such and also I hope to help fellow Amiibros and Amiigals here find what they need.

As for me, I need a US Marth & Villager. Willing to pay cash/PayPal and/or trade my US Pit, Mac, Falcon away. Also, I have EU versions of Pit & Falcon if interested. I actually wish I collected all EU as I like the numbering of each Amiibo, feels more complete when you see them that way.

I hope to wait in front of a Target early early morning for Rosalina too. I'm located in the Bay Area if someone wants to team up. If I get two, you get to have one. If you get two, I get one. Just feels likes better odds to cover two Targets and hopefully we both don't miss out on a Rosalina. Also, I have 2 Shulks, 2 Lucario, 2 Meta Knights on preorder with the extras for trading for Rosalina just in case. I REALLY want to have an opened collection & a sealed collection but I will be killed by the "boss" haha.

K-mart has had them, but of course, K-mart also has empty shelves all over the place, so I had no luck finding them.

Target might carry then, but I couldn't find them there.

Toys-R-Us has them, and is the suggested retailer on the manufacturer's website, and is where I got mine.

I called ahead of time to make sure. They said they had 14 in stock. I get there, and there are only 5 on the shelf. I'm sure there were some in the back, but the woman I asked for help just said they probably didn't send a whole box of them . Probably just didn't want to go on wild hunt for them.

Online retailers seem to be charging more for them, and it seems not all of them are readily available. My guess is they're no longer in production and selling through existing stock. They've done two waves of them so far it seems, so there might be more.. Who knows. Not a lot of information across the internet about these things.
 
So this John was the one saying that people buying rares are the same as scalpers lmao - even better Dr. Kitty Muffins agreed, of course.

Amiibo Regular Price is $12.99 while Toys R Us charges $13.99

Commons: If I were starting over I'd wait for a Toys R Us type of 2/$22 deal or B1G1 40% off. Get the commons with that deal.

Uncommons: For others that are more difficult to find such as Samus and Fox, I would buy them from an online source like Amazon, Gamestop.com, Walmart.com, or ToysRUs.com who seem to be the only ones getting restocks. When they are in stock, buy now and think later. Samus is uncommon for sure in the Bay Area but other places, much harder.

Rare in order of rareness from most to least: Little Mac, Pit, Falcon - you have to watch this forum and refresh the above websites a ton. You might need to call local stores like Target & GameStop to ask stock daily on these ones.

Ultra Rare: good luck. Villager US is currently $100-150, Marth $50-80, Wii Fit Trainer $30-50. Best bet is to import from Europe or Japan.

Wave 4: preorder from at least two website/stores. Preorder them NOW. Good luck!

I hope more games have Amiibo support - esp 3DS games.
 
So, I put up a my pit for display at my store, not selling it, but everyone is crazy for it.

So far someone offered 50 bucks for it, since its pretty much perfect aside for some minor paint drops on a wing, I just shudder thinking how much they will offer from Captain Falcon...

I won´t sell it, but I´m getting my spare from walmart any day now, I might make a local auction for that one.

Amiibos are paying for themselves so far.

Yep good job on that one. I've seen Pit and Captain Falcon come back in stock at various places the past week but Little Mac has disappeared. Pit was thought to be the rarest two weeks ago but he has been more "order-able" than Mac.

Entertainment Earth is legit. Whether or not they are actually getting enough to fulfill the huge amount of preorders they received is probably more the concern. I'd say preorder if you need it, you might get lucky with them and unlucky with say, best buy or TRU.
 
Received my WFT from Nippon-Yasan. Very well packaged. Easily the best packaging I have seen for amiibos yet. Took about two weeks. Would order from again.

Ha, that was fast. Seemed inevitable though, the guy didn't make a single pleasant post in his time active. I thought it was pretty suspicious he posted literally nowhere except this thread too.
