Hey amiiboGAF! I was wondering if anyone here might have some information I'm a little concerned about now:
As I said a couple days ago, I ordered an amiibo from a Japanese seller through amazon.com. Since the total price paid included tax and shipping & handling, I figured that was that. However I'm just now looking over their page and it says that customs fees and taxes * may * apply, and that I would be responsible for those as well.
I've never imported anything before ever, so does anyone know anything further about this? Now I'm a little freaked out that my post office is going to call me and say I owe a ton of money for import fees. I'm totally ignorant about this. Anybody knowledgable here?

So I see that B&H place is still letting people place orders on the amiibo, including stuff like Marth. I wonder how long until we'd hear about cancelled orders. Perhaps they'll still fulfill a few orders, but then cancel ones that were placed after a certain date?

I should pick up kirby soon then. Get it before its extinction event. Haven't gone hunting in Toronto for the last couple of weeks. Didn't know Samus already reached that state. Wow.

I have that shelf! I'm currently using it to display other stuff though - I'm thinking of getting something a bit smaller for the Amiibo figures. The three tier displays from Amazon would look nice sitting on a bookshelf, I reckon.
Been saying this for weeks now. Ha.

Today I absent-mindedly purchased a Samus in the mall. I then started to ponder where I was going to stop with these... Already at 7, and have the Captain on the way and Megaman preordered. Why was I even purchasing them?? I've put a lot of money into these, so what the heck? Then I thought about how fucking sweet the Charizard amiibo is going to look! Suddenly, Samus made sense.

Need to find a display case. Any suggestions for a display case for open Amiibo and also for the ones I'm keeping sealed (above), how should I store them (as in how to pack them safely)? I've never had to deal with the issues of weirdly shaped things like the cardboard on these...

Still need to add more (Wave 2 on the second shelf was just temp). Still not 100% on how I'm positioning these. Can't wait for the rest of my Amiibos to show up next week. Then I'll have all of Wave 1 and 2 in the display. For those wondering, you could easily fir 25 amiibos on each shelf.
But I'm trying to spread them out, and find a sweet spot for spacing. Trying to find the best positions. Anyways, I'm tired. So I'll work on this tomorrow. But yay. Finally have a display. Now I just need to get lights tomorrow, and then wait for the next 5 amiibos to come in on Monday.
I'm so ready for Wave 3 now.
EDIT: I do plan on adding more to the case. I want to add lights + stair case style platforms on each shelf. Maybe add some more art to it. We'll see.

I've gotten amiibo fever a little later, but going to try and secure as much of wave three as I can. Should I expect stores like Target, Toys R Us, and Best Buy to have figures that aren't for pre-orders on launch day or am I screwed completely now? I'm not even going to bother with GameStop probably.

Very nice, I really love all glass type furniture.
I almost got that shelf at IKEA, but the closest one is a 4 hour round trip. Plus I don't have a car big enough to bring it back lol.

Yeah, we covered that a page or two ago. Purchases opened almost SIX HOURS ago. And you can still order them... six hours later.
Ain't no way anyone's gonna have their orders fulfilled. ='(
A lot of people did here, a few pages back. But the fact that you can STILL order them, for 6 hours now ( you know thousands of orders have been put in by now), seems to indicate they don't actually have stock or know for sure how much stock they are going to get if any. They're probably just ill informed, reading off a list, and assuming Nintendo hasn't stopped making certain amiibos yet

See that's what I figured, but on the order status page it shows that the items are On Order as opposed to Backorder now. I don't know, my hopes are low, but it would be a nice surprise if they shipped. Maybe there's a reprint coming or something.
I'd say you're right. One of my stores were out of preorders for Wave 3, but they told me to come by on the 1st because they might have some extra Amiibos.
I always thought that was a placeholder.
