I really would try not to worry about it too much. We'll all see how this turns out Feb. 1st but there's also always the possibility of restocks in Europe and importing later. So much of the Rosalina hype is speculation at this point. I doubt she'll be abundant, but if you really want her I'm sure something will turn up.

Rosalina is one of the two I really wanted from Wave 3 (Mega Man being the other, and I pre-ordered him the minute that I could). I'll be hunting her, as will many others here. We'll all help each other out, I don't doubt it.
I'm with you though. I got into amiibos late, sort of. I pre-ordered four right away, with the intention of only buying four of them: Link, Peach, Zelda, and Luigi. Then I happened upon a Marth two weeks post-launch. Then a Wii Fit Trainer two days later. Then a Villager the next day. Now I have all eighteen available in the US (I bought Pikachu this morning).
Really hope my target has some extra rosalinas to sell day 1, I will be there and I will grab as many as I can to help my fellow Amiibros! Azula you'll be on my mind if I get extras!

Azula, I wouldn't really worry about Rosalina anymore if I were you, you're going to end up with like 20 of her from everyone on here trying to help you out. xD
I have no doubt that at least one of us will help you out when the time comes, so no worries.
It's okay. I think the issue is, I'm not good at keeping up on things. I'm not good at pre-ordering. Getting pre-orders in at the right time. Being able to hit up the right stores. Being on at the right time when shit goes up. I seem to always miss out. I'm just super shit at it.
It's like, I now realize with Wave 3, I just completely botched it all. It's so obvious that everyone else in this thread, knows what they are doing. And I don't. And it's like, whatever I try to do, it's wrong. And trying to fix it, is just pointless and just causes stress. I think that's probably why I felt so stressed last night. I realized how like, I totally fucked up on Wave 3. And was trying to plug the holes in the damn, and 10 more holes would just pop up.
I think it's amazing people are being so nice, and offering to help me. But eh. I'm seriously considering just giving up collecting. Not even bothering with Wave 3. I don't have anything secured, or set up right. And it feels like too much stress even attempting it.
I might just give away my Wave 1 and 2 collection for free. And just walk away from this. I'll still stick around because you guys are my friends. And I still like being apart of this. I'll still organize trades/sells. I'll still help people complete their collections. Because I get a lot of joy out of that. But in terms of collecting, I just feel like...yeah. I'm not cut out for this.
Nooo. I don't want anyone sending me one or buying one for me. I would feel bad. I dunno. I think I'm just going to stop anyways. I'll let people know if I end up giving away my collection. I might just do one big modbot raffle, and just give someone all of them in one go.

So back when Nintendo UK opened their store and The Holy Trinity went up, mine finally came today!
Somethings really weird with the third Wii Fit Trainer though.
1) Her body is all twisted and facing outward while the others face a lot more in line. (Image 1)
2) Her leg is much higher up than the other two (Image 1)
3) She has a long lanky looking arm (Image 2)
4) That arm also completely misses her leg so she's not grabbing anything. (Image 3)

I'm especially curious considering Nintendo has been using this image in many of their amiibo promotional images:
I actually wrote up a short piece speculating on whether we'll see separate Olimar & Pikmin amiibo figures in my 'Future Amiibo' section on amiibros.
I also have pages for the silhouetted Tom Nook amiibo that has also shown up in promotional images and the alternate DK & Rosalina amiibo that appeared in-game during the Mario Party 10 portion of last week's Nintendo Direct:
I haven't really seen anyone else mention these yet, but their bases appear to be identical to those of the Super Mario series amiibo figures so I'm speculating that they'll be part of an eventual 2nd wave. Hopefully a classic Wario amiibo will be as well!
So I'm still wondering how the Olimar amiibo is going to turn out given how small the Pikmin (and Olimar) would be. I'm guessing not good. Either the Pikmin will get fattened up a bunch, they'll be missing various details, they'll be left off altogether, or the whole thing will get turned it into a "snow globe" with a crazy amount of that clear plastic.

Don't feel bad. I'm not on top of things either. I came into collecting them late, but I've talked myself into finding the thrill in the hunt. It's so much more rewarding to find an Amiibo I've been looking for for a long time as a surprise somewhere or to experience the kindness from people online that you don't normally expect.
Actually that says a lot to me, unfortunately. What it says is that they are in the absolute same position as every other retailer. They put an order out there but like everybody else, they're not being told if or when they'll get any. Well the dream was nice while it lasted. I have a UK villager though so I'm happy. I'll pick up Marth when it comes back out.

Collect what you can and if you can't get it, don't worry about it. But you know what? It's becoming clear that you can't shake that mentality. So, as much as you mean to this community, maybe it is best you step away. You have enough to deal with. I don't think you can simply help them and not get sucked in. You don't have that kind of personality. This isn't an insult, nor criticism, nor anything like that. You're clearly a good guy, have a happy life, but are battling demons.
If you keep on this roller coaster of emotions you're going to hit some really low lows, and that's not worth it. They're only plastic toys. If giving away your collection would help, do it. I collected this line of original characters, but one eluded me. It was never on sale, and when it was, it was a 300% markup. Not worth it. The collection lost all value to me, so I simply gave them away, and now I only collect Nendoroids, and I don't need the full set.
I only say this out of respect for you, but maybe you need to shed the past and either move on from this thread or literally only use it as a community and not as a collector yourself.

I figure there has to be an issue with it considering how much they've been pushing Pikmin stuff this generation (Pikmin 3 and the cinematic shorts) compared to other games without an amiibo release. It would be a real shame to completely remove Olimar. He was going the be the 4th captain on my Amiibo Team! Without him, I'd need to start bending definitions to include Ike or something.
At the same time, I'm also disappointed Alph will never get one going by the lack of alternate models for amiibos like Robin or WFT.
Yeah. I mean, to be clear I'm doing fine. I feel good. I think, last night gave me some perspective on how to view this as a hobby. But lol, I just feel like, I suck so bad at this. And the more I think about it, the more I realized I fucked up so badly on Wave 3.
And it feels like, no matter what I try to do, I can't fix it. I can't do anything about it. We have this new Wave of Amiibos, and I'm so fucked. I pretty much have nothing pre-ordered. And it feels like, I'm just out of my league/depth with it.

I do apologize. This is more about my own life right now, and what I'm going through. It's not right to make people have to deal with that. So I'm just going to remove myself from the thread. I will continue to make avatars, run the document (still working on it), and helping others. But I'm going to stop collecting and or, making a bunch of posts about it. Because it's not fair to put that on other people (my own issues).
This isn't about toys, or collecting. A sane/rational person knows these are $12 figures. A sane/rational person doesn't get upset because they can't get one. If I wasn't going through the shit I was going through, I would not be getting upset. I'm not even really upset lol Well not IRL. More so, just kind of giving up on being an avid collector. I've really botched the Wave 3 stuff, and I know I'll continue to botch it. So I'm just thinking of stopping.

Good theories, but nope! I'm on the younger end of that spectrum.
Wave 4 will be so much easier. Pay close attention to this thread, which you already seem to be, and then just get your preorders in right away at one place like Amazon or Gamestop. Most of the wave 3 preorders on Amazon were up for some time. Plenty of enough time not to worry about it I think.
And you really have nothing to worry about regarding Rosalina. There will be Targets out there that have her no doubt about it. Some gaffer will hook you up one way or the other, as helpful as you have been. I mean I get it's the uncertainly that's driving you crazy, but just put it out of your mind. You'll get her.
Whoa, whoa. I don't mean to say that at all. Communities like these are here for support. My post's intention to give you peace of mind and advice from someone who has been through something similar, although I cannot for a second imagine going through what you have in your past.
I'm just trying to help you, as you are having an internal struggle right now. You can post as much as you want. I'm sure these people want to help, just as I want to.

I'm not sure this is important, but I decided to check Bestbuy.com for Meta Knight, and it said for in store pick up; pick it up in 3-5 days. Has it always said this or what?
I missed out completely on my favorite amiibo, Villager, and yeah it really sucks but I dunno, I kind of like collecting these still. Missing a few Wave 1's and Mac from Wave 2 but I just keep going with it.
Somewhere down the line I'm sure I'll be fortunate enough to add Villager to my team. I've already been lucky enough to have a found Fox and WFT thanks to this community (can't wait!). You guys are the best and you all make this hobby even more enjoyable. <3

Mii fighters and Game and Watch will also be definitely interesting to see. As for the alternate DK and Rosalina, I think they were brought up briefly here the day of the Direct as well as in the Direct thread. I'm actually looking forward to the Rosalina one and like how they used her MK Wii artwork for it. Either way I hope I can get an extra one of either one down the road so I can take out the NFC part and put it to the bottom of this.
Also, since I don't think I got an answer last night... did Target ever put Rosalina up again after December 30th?
And Azula, just have fun and enjoy. Rosalina imo is one of the figures that I don't think we have to worry much about. If our region doesn't restock, for sure another region will. She's Nintendo's equivalent to Lightning and Elsa. No way are they just going to ship one shipment of her and if you panic, you'll just end up like those that worried about Marth only to find out that they're shipping out more.
Don't forget, Nintendo wants to make another SMG game so if that happens, it'll be another perfect excuse to release her again.

It sucks seeing Nintendo do this to people. These should not require all the effort some are putting in to get nothing.
I know you're thinking of giving up, but part of collecting is getting help when needed. I've received boxes of consoles and games for free from coworkers or family when they find out I like collecting them.
I work for Target and will get you a Rosalina if at all possible.

I ordered Rosalina from amazon italy and it went all fine and dandy, I'm just waiting for it to ship now.
As for Shulk and Meta Knight, I got them from amazon.de. I'm a bit worried it might fuck up because on the order page I put that my card is in USD but it didn't show that I paid in USD (instead, in Euros) while on amazon.it, it showed my order was processed from Euros to USD like it should. Prior to the order I enabled the currency converter and whatever else needed.
Anyway it's just some small paranoia since italy did it fine but the german site didn't convert, the order was placed regardless. I can't go back and retry some other settings since Shulk and Meta Knight are now sold out.
Hope it turns out fine. Now just the wait is unbearable.

I'm not sure bout Meta Knight, but Captain Falcon and Pit said that for ages before eventually not being available at all. Would definitely take it with a grain of salt. A big, giant, huge grain of salt.
Also, I just tried to "Add to Cart" and nothing happened, but sometimes the web browsers on this laptop are really fucked up.
Oh so its actually coming out on the first here? I expected NA to get it last.. also.this thread is moving way too fast.
Pretty much my favorite thing about them as well. The traditional Mario art style also makes these look so much more natural.

With the dimensions presented on both the play arts figure and the stairs display, it should fit if the dimension I found are correct. I think you are better off with something like this.
