Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

We only got 1 Sheik, 1 Toon Link, and 4 Bowsers at my store today. Our system shows that the release date for them is on the 3rd along with Mega Man and Ike, but those two are nowhere to be found unfortunately. :(

I thought the same thing at first. It is a new IP, and Nintendo pushing it to Fire Emblem fans should be a smart idea. Bringing back Marth is one thing, but maybe they will have good stock of the other three? I don't think it is happening though. A new Kirby game comes out this month and from what we know, Meta-Knight and King Dedede will both be a pain to find. Doesn't give me much optimism on the FE characters.

And they are doing a bad job, since no one seems to care about Codename S.T.E.A.M. . Speaking of it, I got a poster and a code to download this game demo today, it looks amazing! Gamestop has codes so go grab one if you can.
 
Back home and got some good news: friend who went to get Lucario managed to snag one for me! :o

But, starting to get a little worried. Last Friday some cool buds sent me a WFT and Fox and they still have not arrived. I really hope nothing horrible happened cause it's now "next" Friday, lol
 
27.00 USD for a Captain Falcon, yes or? I'm supposed to be getting Pit soon so I was saved from spending a ton on him.
I almost caved and bought Shulk for 50.00.. I just really want him and know this is going to go on for a while.

I've got them all (got them cheap as part of one of their sales) and they don't look horrible, but they overestimated the demand for them. My local TRU has over 20 of each (and there's seven of the TRU exclusive, one non-exclusive from 2.0), probably from their initial order honestly.
 
So at my closest Gamestop, there were a few Bowser amiibo sitting there since yesterday.

I then drove over to Best Buy to see if they have any in stock so I can use my GCU discount. Guy in there says no and even if they did, system won't ring until Monday or Tuesday.

So I said "screw it", went back to Gamestop, and got Bowser.

EDIT: My brother said he would give me one of his Lucario when the two arrive.
 
After losing on Lucario I'm thinking about just saying fuck it and not even bothering with showing up for Rosalina and Meta-Knight. If this is a business tactic to force scarcity like people are saying, then it is a useless exercise of my time and money to search for things I'm clearly not meant to get. I will keep my preorders and stay vigilante on that front, but for the rest of it I'm done chasing ghosts.
 
amazon.ca just added Ike, Bowser, Dedede, Toon Link, and Sheik to the Amiibo Family.

Oh, also, Ebgames.ca delivered on Shulk too! Today was a good day.

I just realized I'm pretty screwed for Rosalina. I've got a prior engagement Sunday morning that prevents me from being at Target when they open. Hrm, not sure how I'm going to get her now.

Exactly what I'm going to do if Target turns about to be a madhouse Sun morning. I plan on pulling into my local Target like 5 mins before opening. It's going to be in the teens Sun morning, and if there's a lot of people lined up, I'll just turn around and go home. I'll probably just keep checking Nintendo World on Thurs and Fridays, since its so close to where I work.

I think it would in both TRU's and Nintendo's best interest to restock Lucario and all the others. Nintendo really needs to make an announcement that they are restocking all 3 previous waves. Scalpers would be running back to stores so fast to dump their stock.
 
The sad thing with Rosalina/Lucario/Meta Knight/Shulk is that even the foreign Amazon stores are sold out of them and thus you can't import anymore from anywhere for anything near MSRP.

That is bad news. Definitely. I have no back up plan if I failed to get those Amiibo.
 
I'm hoping Toys R Us ships out my order tomorrow. I have 1 Lucario for myself, the other 1 is for a friend, and also a Sheik & Bowser for them.

I have Bowser, Toon Link, and Sheik at Best Buy which I will pick up Sunday. :)
 
Rochester, MN TRU got 16 Lucarios. 12 were taken for preorders. 4 for sale. Luckily my boyfriend and I were 4th in line. Line only had 4 people total. We're gonna hit up Target on Sunday at open for Rosalina.
 
Picked up Bowser at GS with my pre-order. They didn't have the other six in yet obviously (non-store exclusives). I also picked up my Lucario that was waiting for me at TRU. Now it is time to wait for Sunday morning outside of Target.

Two questions, has anyone's Shulk ship from gamestop.com? Also, is Meta Knight confirmed for Sunday release at Best Buy?
 
Went to the city.
Walked into store
Bought Toon link, Sheik, Bowser and Pikachu.
They also had Rosalina, Lucario and Ike but I already had them.

Strange how different things are in different places and countries

Never seen Villager or Wii fit trainer though

If I don't and miss out on her I'll trade a Platinum CN game for her if its ones I already own.

Someone in line today told me it was because retailers are in a bidding war for wave 4 exclusive. Who knows though.

It still has all the same tracking info from before when it got sent back but up at the top it has "Updated Delivery Day: Monday, January 26, 2015". I'm a little worried but still telling myself maybe it's just late. :P

Rosalina may be a problem, but I think there's other places besides Amazon where you can probably import EU Amiibos. Especially among german online stores (consider Digitalo, Redcoon, Bücher.de...) I'm not sure all of them ship to US, and I don't know all of them well, but there's definitively stores that still have Amiibos like Lucario in-stock for UE MSRP (12.99 euros, or close to that, since many shops raised the price circa 14.99 recently). And many of them are taking preorders for Shulk or Meta Knight.

In fact, even Amiibos like the "trinity" are in stock. Although Little Mac and Rosalina seems to be out of stock everywhere I looked (and for Mac, this is probably for good)
 
I have yet to see anyone give an account they've seen a Dedede in the wild today other than EB Games Canada orders, myself included, but they were preorders.

I'm calling it that he will have the lowest manufacturing run than any other in Wave 3. Exclusives included.

Those who went to TRU see any?
 
I'm on Target Wi-Fi in The states so I won't be able to clarify further until I get back to my girlfriends place but Target has 32 Rosalinas but they aren't limiting how many you can buy.

Yeah, Target would be the nightmare scenario. TRU has done poorly, no doubt, but the pre-order window for online orders with Target was absurd, and I say that as someone who scored one.
