The extra I had to pay for international shipping.
Though, on the bright side, paying that plus a standard Amiibo price is still much better than faring with the Ebay scalper prices.
Ah, yeah the prices are really bad for Villager.
I've been wanting to find a Sheik but I just can't bring myself to pay a scalper for one or dealing with international shipping.

I was under the impression amiibo were reasonably stocked in all of Europe, especially after seeing the famous picture from Germany. I'm actually going to Holland next month, it's going to be interesting to see what the situation is there.

This is frustrating. I'm understanding that these are limited, but when it's people that pre-ordered and they end up not getting one there is no excuse. It's also frustrating that online pre-orders aren't filled first before they sell them off the shelf to people off the street without a pre-order.

Play-Asia has Japanese Sheik amiibos for about $20 (plus $10 shipping). I think that's the cheapest I've seen unfortunately.
Maybe call around your local stores?

BB likes to make up their own "street dates" and the system doesn't let them sell until said date. Dispite Amiibos not having street dates.

Haha, called one of my Best Buys in the area and as soon as I mention Amiibo they asked if I was looking for Sheik. Toon Link supposedly is in stock in the area but the lady I spoke on the phone left for awhile then told me they are only for pre-orders. I'm going to go by later just to make sure.

Nah, only on those countries it seems. UK, Spain, France and Italy are having lots of distribution problems.
Europe is not as dreamland for amiibos as some american gaffers think. Seems the best part to get them is in Japan, as much as Sakurai didnt find Rosalina in some store.
The toys r us from my city just got this morning the wave 3.0 amiibos, and those had to be 2 weeks ago already on shelves, the funny thing is even like that, they didnt get Rosalina god knows why. Some media markts here havent even get wave 3.0 yet. Its nuts.

The weather here tomorrow is supposed to be pretty bad, so that gives me a little more confidence in being able to get Rosalina. Might keep a few more people at home.

Wow... just got confirmation that the Pit I ordered from Best Buy last year finally shipped! I had actually given up hope on that one. Just goes to show you never can tell with Best Buy.
Also, called my local Target and got them to instate the One Rosalina per Customer Initiative. Gotta keep things civil on the storefront!

I think you can find cheaper options in Europe (german) online stores.
So Sheik is rare in the US? From my experience here, it was by far the most common of the 6 (Rosalina was nowhere to be seen, I've found a couple of Ike / Bowser / Toon Link / Lucario, and a lot of Sheik...)
Local gameshop - biggest of Flanders and the Netherlands - has been complaining about Amiibo availability too. It looks like the situation is better because the US Trinity is available a bit more, but in shops you won't have much luck finding the rares either. nd if you want Little Mac, you're fucked. He is nowhere.

I hope for the same as well. I live in the northern suburbs of Chicago and my store is implementing 1 per person, but there are a lot of scalpers in this area. Also FYE would not let me pre-order.
Luckily I already got my hands on him. He's still available here, but I'd say he's by far the rarest of all the figures so far.
I picked up my bowser pre-order from gamestop last night. he looks really great. they said the rest of wave 3 got delayed until 2/14 or later so it looks like i'll be waiting a bit for shulk and the rest of the non-retailer exclusive gang.

They're apparently not street dated anymore, they just have an ETA of 2/13, and Mega Man and Sonic are ETA of 2/20. I have connections, so trust me, this info is accurate. Remember, according to my friend in Target, 44 Rosalinas got shipped to his store, and no holds/limit 1 per customer is in effect, according to his supervisor. Get there bright and early, people!

Wow I finally caught up. I read the last 10 pages just now and did not see Meta on the 28th. My BB contact checks the system everyday and no updates on the date. Their systems still say 12/31/2015. He said they find out a week before it'll be realeased. So if it's going to be released on the 28th, the systems would show that on the 21st.
I personally think it'll be on the 20th, when the Kirby game is released.

You know the situation is dire when I can only buy 1/11 figures from Wave 3. I guess I'll keep checking Best Buy and Toys 'R' Us periodically and hope I get lucky, because EB Games has been completely wiped out.
Wave 3 has not really been launched yet in the US yet, only 4 Amiibo have been released so far.
I recall you being completely against amiibo, and saying that they look like $1 dollar toys or whatever.

Almost all of them have been released in Canada at select retailers. Meta Knight, Rosalina, Mega Man, and Sonic haven't been released yet.
They do look like dollar store toys. But if this is the only Dedede merchandise we're going to get, then I guess I have no choice. Don't question my thirst for more Kirby swag.

Went to Target this morning to have a conversation about Amiibos. I spoke to a knowledgeable employee who informed me they would have 28 at that particular store, and would only be selling one per customer as a loose rule. He said if someone has two kids with them, buying one for each, etc they would sell more than one but will not be allowing bulk purchases. He said a Nintendo rep was in yesterday asking them to restrict multiple sales.
