Loving the Peach Mii outfit in MK8, the neckerchief is a nice touch. Shame that Pikachu (and others) aren't supported, I'm hoping that Nintendo get behind Amiibo and patch support in wherever possible.

I'm hoping for a bunch more outfits when the next DLC hits.

Uuughh, the Villager has become impossible to find in my area.

Why didn't I indulge? :(

Same here :( such a shame because I was there on day one, with multiple Villager's around me. But I was like eh...these won't sell out...so much sadness since I'm only missing him now of the original 12.

And he's sold out online everywhere, well at least for Canada. Amazon is out and TRU didn't even list Villager here.

I'm actually thinking I don't need Villager. If a Candian is desperate and ok with buying a used one (I do still have the packaging), I'd sell for like $25 shipped within Canada. Probably costs $8-9 shipping and I'd just want my initial costs back.

To be fair, I really wasn't interested in any Amiibos, but after seeing them in action in Smash at a friends house I really like the way the AI-learning process was implemented. Going against 4 level 50 Amiibos only to have our collective butts kicked was fun. The Spinner is also pretty nice.

My friend got me a Yoshi Amiibo for my birthday too, so I'm probably going to hunt Marth for him in return (only one from the first batch he doesn't have, haha) and nab Link and DK for me, at least. It's going to be tough seeing as some places are already running low on the rarer ones though.

I picked up Samus at launch, thinking I would just get her and maybe one more later. Had a ton of fun using her in Smash so immediately decided I wanted more. I love collecting figurines and other stuff as well as games, but wasn't really eyeing amiibo as a new thing to start collecting.

With Marth being absolutely impossible to find in my area (and seemingly scarce in most places) I jumped on it when my buddy found a single Marth when he bought an amiibo for himself. I wanted Marth on the off chance that I decided to start collecting, at least I'd have the hardest to find one already. Opened Marth up and started using him.

While out today looking for a third I stumbled upon another lone Marth. He looked great and the packaging was pretty sharp so I bought that as well as a Fox. I'll keep the second Marth sealed.

I still want Donkey Kong, Link, and Wii Fit Trainer from the first set. I thought I was only going to buy one and tinker with it, now I have four.

I went back to the store I purchased my amiibo from and they mainly had Mario and Peach. Link was almost gone, one WFT, one Samus, one Villager, and a couple of Kirby.

I'm going to another store tomorrow. I've entertained the idea of getting Kirby and Peach in my head so much that I just want them. I also want Yoshi. Fuck.

I can't wait til wave 2 comes out. I'm gunning for Cap Falcon for sure, and Pit and Little Mac if their faces are nice. I might also get Diddy, but I'm trying to stay mentally strong.

My complete Wave 1 collection is now bubble wrapped nicely in a box. All sealed, all perfect paint jobs and condition, no Marth derp face or super leaning gangsta Samus.

I paid $10.30 Canadian on average for each one based on the discounts I've been able to get at different retailers like 3 for $30 and 40% off. Not bad at all.

Bring on Wave 2 December 14!!

Looking to collect them all for Wave 1-3 and then just the rare/retailer exclusive ones at that point.

Where were you getting 3 for $30 in Canada? Toys R Us? I thought that promotion was USA only.

I think they are addictive because their aesthetic appeal actually increases when there are more of them beside each other
I feel like it's my Melee trophy room except it's real now.

Got the last Villager available within a 50 mile radius of me.

AWWWW YISSSS.

Also just realized Marth's sword's hilt is a mass of plastic rather than the two extrusions it has in-game; would using a hotwire cutter to slightly cut it to bring it closer to how it's supposed to look work? Or should I just leave it?

Here's the state of affairs at the Target in Central Houston.

Have yet to see a display in the five stores I have been in.
Also the sections have been pretty untouched as well.
Will see the case in the next town tomorrow.

congrats! I picked up the last villager at target on black friday. once my toys r us order arrives I'll have all of wave 1, just in time for wave 2 to hit

these things are going to be a problem for me.

I think I want to get a second Kirby. I love mine with his hat, now I want another one and I'll make him a different hat. Maybe I'll get one and make him an American Kirby with an American hat.

I had to break down and erase the data from my Link amiibo. He latched on to some horrible tactics in Smash, like spamming arrows, and he couldn't handle stages with more than one platform. I took him on Big Battlefield and the poor thing just ran around aimlessly, jumping from platform to platform. He even ran passed me a few times, without trying to attack! He was at level 45, too. Oh yeah, he also couldn't cross Eldin Bridge when the gap appears. He'd just shoot off a few arrows, and then run back and forth.

The new training is going well, though. I'm focusing more on his standard and smash attacks, as well as exposing him to multi-platform stages. At the moment, he's level 17 and he's significantly better than his predecessor.

My Donkey Kong amiibo is a beast. He's level 43 and he's taught himself to follow up and combo. I'm quite happy with him.

I'll just throw this out there, but I wouldn't mind if Nintendo added FP Battles to the online modes.

How do you teach him how to move around though?

Thanks to my local retailer I got a Yoshi. Next week I should get my Villager from ShopTo. Yoshi looks really nice, I'm quite impressed by how good the amiibo looks. I leveled him up to level 35 yesterday.

I'm honestly surprised by how well Amiibo seem to be selling. I knew plenty of people on gaf and hardcore Nintendo fans in general were planning on buying at least 1, but I didn't expect sellouts.

I haven't see any amiibo commercials on tv, but I guess Nintendo is hitting their audience somehow.

Iwata: *laughs*

Edit: I really hope we´ll get an official press release soon. I want to know if....or better, how well Amiibos are doing. The anecdotal evidence points to quite successful .

Ok guys, were can I find them in London?
John Lewis barely stores skylanders so I don't think that's a good option.

Any suggestion?
I don't want to buy them online!

Ancedotal evidence from my town: Walmart doesn't seem to be carrying them at all and my shop hasn't had to restock once. :/

Are they actually legitimately useful?

As in, I've kept all mine packaged. Should I buy extra ones for actual use of the characters I care about?

Or not worth it?

The GAME in Hamleys had lots on Friday, I have no idea if they are still there though. The guy in front of me bought 3 (yes, 3!) sets of each. The supplies could not sustain many more purchases like his
