Amplitude (Harmonix) PS3/PS4 - KS (Funded, final day)

I agree with Petrie 100%. I told Harmonix about it on the second day of the kickstarter too.

Their attitude was basically that I should be happy to back their game at retail price (or more) and that it was unreasonable for me to expect a break in price, that my refusal to back would be counter-productive since it might lead to the game not getting funded (THE HORROR!).

They were very polite about it, and I very politely explained to them that their approach to kickstarter was arrogant and shortsighted. I'm also very confident it will get funded because a lot of people don't see eye to eye with me.

Thank God for Petrie, mah man!

In my considered opinion, the bolded parts of their explanation for the miserly 1000 slots are utter nonsense. Sold at a loss? Need those extra $5?

Nah, that doesn't pass muster.

They shouldn't have wasted their time with you. You seriously think that everyone should be able to get the game with a $15 pledge when the game is almost certainly going to cost $20? Things like unadvertised flash sales exist. Ever hear of first come first serve? It isn't an uncommon concept, on kickstarter, or otherwise no matter how much you guys want to make it seem like dirty tactic.

I don't get it why do the guys responding to Petrie keep doing it? Why does he have to see things the same way you do? Who the hell cares about if he supports the KS or not, it's not like his 15 or 40 is going to be the amount the KS is short by if it did come up short.

I just found out about anamanaguchi and Jim Guthrie additions this week so Harmonix you have my first KS pledge ever (and my sword, axe, etc.).

now playing: futurama - a head in the polls

and yeah I bumped my pledge up for that reason too

I think I might keep my current pledge at the 40 dollar level but then use my wife's account to go to the 100 dollar level. I want that case

I fuckin wish they had given this a full month(even knowing the reasons why)

This wouldn't be so terrifying if they had 12 more days

Here is my convo with Harmonix

Urgh...thankfully you are one guy and not the entire population. When the hell did gamers become to arrogant and entitled?

My 5 year old cousin gets mad if his bowl of ice cream looks like it has less than his brothers, it's only natural to be put off by inequity, and it eases the pain to talk about it.

You misrepresent me, which is disappointing since you've apparently read my posts, where I CLEARLY state that, Instead of the first 1000, I suggested they ought to have kept it for the first 5k or 10k people. I tried to back on the 2nd day and was unable to. Broken age didn't eliminate their $15 tier until 30 days had passed. That's what I judge other kickstarters on.

All this said, Yes. I feel like $15 kickstarter pledge to get a $20 retail game price
(it's not "almost certainly", it's certain, as harmonix have stated unequivocally in the messages you have (supposedly) read.
is absolutely, perfectly, utterly, undoubtedly, completely reasonable and in no way, shape or form the ludicrous idea you suggest it is.

You're free to disagree. Maybe you don't love money like I do :)

Is the show being archived? Can't watch at work. Need to subscribe and check it out later if possible. Sounds like they are putting on a good show though.

I love this story of how HMX first got in touch with Sony. Never gets old hearing it. The livestream so far has been awesome based on what I've been able to see. Great music being played earlier.

When Brad Shoemaker was a kid playing Castlevania 2 he somehow got it into his head that one of the songs was called Barkerville. Something about wolf town or werewolves. It didn't really make any sense.

God I'll have to watch that later. Those Giant Bomb guys are hilarious, I especially like Brad.
