Amplitude (Harmonix) PS3/PS4 - KS (Funded, final day)

Got my codes yesterday, half of which were invalid. Messaged harmonic via kick starter and they sent me new codes, 2 of which were invalid. So all in all I ended up with 13 working codes

I pledged the $35 tier if it matters

Let us know how it turns out. Seems like most of the problems were broken codes rather than not getting any, so if you don't hear back, you may want to try messaging them again to make sure your specific problem doesn't get overlooked among the flood of messages they must have been getting about the broken code issue.

Messaged yesterday night and still nothing. Frankly feeling a little ripped off.

I just remembered that the PSN codes were a limited thing. There was a limited $35 tier, and then they also gave the codes to everyone who pledged at a higher tier before that limited tier was announced. They said they didn't have enough codes to give them to everyone who backed $35+ afterward. I looked up the e-mail I got from 5/20:

We’re launching a $35 tier at 5:30pm eastern that includes DLC codes redeemable on PSN (a $20 value). We wanted to give you a heads up that this tier is coming online so you didn’t feel like there was a “new thing” added at a lower tier that isn't being explicitly added to your tier.

We can’t add this $20 value for everyone who will be in this tier by the end of the campaign, because these tiers are uncapped. We'd run out of these DLC codes! But because all of you were awesome enough to back at this level before this change, WE'RE GOING TO GRANDFATHER YOU IN TO GET THESE CODES, JUST FOR BACKING! HURRAY!

I looked up when you posted in this thread saying you backed (05-21-2014, 08:33 PM), so if that time frame is accurate, I assume you backed after the $35 tier happened, too late to be grandfathered in to get these codes at the higher tiers.

I guess there's a chance they might still give you some anyway for good will, but it appears that you weren't actually supposed to be getting them based on when you backed (if that time is accurate).

Well Harbombix told me I had no right even donating to their kickstarter, that they hated me, and that my sister had an ugly face. I said I was going to sue them and then I started playing Lindsay Lohan music over the phone. After most of their office had died off due to pain, they gave me the 10 codes.

Thank you harmonix!

I pledged at $40 and ended up getting $38 back in PSN codes

Harmonix more like Harmonsux ! (except for the part where they did right by you in the end)

I'm glad that I got all my codes, but more than that, I'm just happy the game is being made.

Do we have any word on whether it's an early summer, mid summer or late summer release?

I thought I filled out the survey a while ago, but it turns out maybe I didn't? I just entered/confirmed the info, but as I'm a week late I don't know what that means with regards to getting my key (I was a $20 backer so I am not getting early access stuff anyway)

None of us have our game keys. Over the last few days, backers at the $35 tier and above got some PSN credit codes. I imagine you're fine.

I think at this point licenses are out of the question due to the high cost. Maybe as DLC down the road.

I'm sure some DJs would happily join up for low cost, why not aim for the underground?

There is a Freezepop jam, so there's that. And ICU sounds amazing. Not watching anymore, want to have some surprise.

Didn't the email also say production of the physical rewards haven't even started?

I wonder when the game itself will out. I have a feeling it'll be August.

I think the problem is that DLC tracks probably won't sell all that well unless they are well-known songs. Which means that if they pick obscure songs they won't make their money back on actually designing the course for the song.

Keep in mind that they only really have 14K copies sold right now. I don't know what the threshold is for breaking even on a DLC track, but if only 10% of the userbase buys a given song, they only would make about 3 grand (of which Sony probably takes $1000).

It would be great if there could be a way to try songs before you buy them.

I think the greatest idea is if they can set up some kind of cross-licensing agreement where they can sell tracks that work in Amplitude AND Rock Band. That way the larger Rock Band audience pays for the development of a new track, but it can still be enjoyed by people with Amplitude.

I like the way you think

Do they even have the same style of songs? Rock band is all rock/alternative stuff, not sure how much of that makes it into the freq/amp games.

Amplitude (2003) had songs by Garbage, Weezer, David Bowie, P!nk, Run-DMC, Papa Roach, and Slipknot. It even had "Boom" by POD. None of those names would be out of place in a Rock Band game.

People forget that Frequency was the game that only had electronic music, and that Amplitude significantly broadened the scope of music and genres.

Amplitude (2015) will probably be very heavy on electronic tracks just because they are cheap to produce in-house, but I hope they include some rock and pop.

Is Harmonix publishing Rock Band 4? If so, they're publishing both games (even though Sony owns Amplitude) and could probably work that out.

I'm disappointed they aren't bothering with any licenses. The originals sound good, but the appeal of Frequency/Amplitude was seeing who'd pop up next.

They sent out a new update.

Delayed again till December/January....for good reason!!!!! Upping the song count, more modes, and an it mentions an unrevealed mode (PLS BE REMIX MODE PLS)

Probably new thread worthy if anyone wants to helm it

It's unlisted, so not sure if I can share it, but the latest update confirmed that Komputer Kontroller(a Symbion Project/Kasson Crooker alias) is back. Bring the pain.
(He easily had the hardest songs in both Freq and Amp.)

I'm still really quite annoyed that after delaying the entire project by more than 6 months, special tier backers will still be getting the game weeks early. They should have just given all backers early access if they couldn't deliver the project on time.

That said, I'm glad it sounds like they are wrapping things up. It sounds like the game will be genuinely ready to ship in a few weeks.

Why stop there? They should give all backers the vinyl soundtrack, T-shirts, and a dinner with Tim Schafer because they didn't meet the original date.

But seriously, that seems like a weird thing to be really annoyed by. I don't know why you'd expect them to change the terms of the reward tiers because the game was delayed. Then you'd have people annoyed that they paid extra for something that everyone ended up getting.

I've been anticipating a new Amplitude since the last one. Hoping they release it for backers @ PSX.

My wishlist for updates/DLC:

More tracks
More classic non-licensed tracks from Freq/Amplitude
Return of Remix Mode
Return of Online competitive multiplayer
PSVR support

Last update confirmed that Synthesized is back, so it's a start.

Personally I'd prefer they bring back Frequency stuff, like FreQ Out and Ibiza Dreams.
(Die, End of Your World. Die.)

Ditto, it'd be great to play Freq songs with a better hitbox (the only reason I don't go back to Frequency frequently [hahahaha])

I love Synthesized, I wonder if it's the original or remixed in any way.

Its a shame that Frequency had Remixing and online multiplayer (one of the first games with the PS2 network adapter) and the new game won't :(
My latest scores in the final tier:

Did anyone get their physical items? I purchased the $70 tier and have yet to hear from them for it. Apparently some other people seemed to have been forgotten. Just want to know if anyone else got their physical items?

Yep I got mine a good while back. Irrc, there were a few times where you had to email them about your shipping address to make sure
