360 folks, I'm playing a bit of the SP right now (on Hard) if anyone's down to laugh at me cut as I cut my teeth in the MP. My GT's in the OP as well as in my profile.
I like the combat so far. It feels heavy like Mad World mixed with a tiny bit of God Hand in the form of the running to dash animation. I like it; it's feels more like Mad World's combat than anything else sans the announcers. The menu song is good too; having all the characters in a bar as the menu backdrop/title screen is pretty cool.

I don't know if I think Mathilda's hot, but I think she's awesome. That weapon's cool as shit.
Thats some realistic sounding ice in a glass. Seriously, I kept thinking someone was making a drink or my ice was shifting around while I had it idle.

The weapon and Mathilda herself are cool though, she's like a Terminator as a dominatrix. Though I like her moveset as it's vaguely reminiscent of Haruko to me.

Is there some magic port forwarding or NAT settings I have to mess with to get Multiplayer running properly? Its all Matchmaking has Failed or just lobbies mostly full of people in WAITING...

Agreed. More people need to get it on 360 so we can roll together. Getting our asses kicked by a mostly level 50 team is not cool. I understand the PS3 folks though. If I had a PS3, I would've double dipped easily.
Death Ball is so freakin' fun! You totally crushed my team. For the uninitiated, the final score was 2-8. Pitiful I know.
This game's MP is so good; I haven't had this much fun playing a MP game in a while connection issues aside. It's chaotic and I'm button mashing but I love it.
From the little that I've played of it, it's pretty fun. It's got a decent story.
But I would say it primes you up for the multiplayer. Still, it's pretty good; it's got random events in the free roam and side quests with different challenges.
It's fun, but it's really clear that PG was banking mostly on the multiplayer.

Not sure if it's anyone from GAF, but I constantly find this team of level 20-40 players sitting waiting for a Deathball match. They are a basically farming rank, and sound super annoying on their mics.
I was expecting the single-player to be not interesting at all but its quite fun (I've done 4 stages so far). You get a hilarious story, over-the-top/silly characters and even some emotional cut-scenes with crying at a cementary...
Game's based on large, cool looking stages. Each stage has 3 main missions with cimenatics and 3 side quests - to unclock each of them you need to gain points (by playing already unlocked missions or just fighting random dudes).
Multiplayer is harder than most games because you need to really know what you're doing. There are some co-op modes (three players vs 10 waves of creatures), solo deathmatch and team deathmatch modes. So far I really enjoyed playing tag battle, where you have a partner and can spawn next to him or do team attacks.

Q is a scrub that mashes buttons. Of course somebody would call him out on it. I mean any fighting game "pro" are nothing more then good button mashers.

The Weak attacks are safe, but Douglas is a big character so his launcher should have super armor. It should go through those except for delayed W (that kick where Max pulls back) because that also has super armor. The two kicks after that are unsafe which you did figure out and started to stop, somewhat. Main thing that was hurting you is that you dodged and blocked too much. Defense is good in this game, but not that good. You can't guard forever. You have to try something every now and then. Don't dodge too much either. You don't want that forced stop. Also, what was the deal with the random charge grabs during my ground strings and the charge grabs from the other side of the cage? Why would you do that?
Why you don't use Douglas' dash attack? He probably has the best one. He can't combo after it, but it comes out pretty fast and his whole body becomes the attack. It's great at causing stun and good for pressure since it's safe on block. You just have to tap forward twice and press H to do a dash attack. You don't have to run first.
You know combos, but kept dropping them. Douglas combos are a pain in the ass if you want the standing H after the two W's in the air. You have the time the second one just right so that it comes out as he is landing. You barely see the attack come out before he lands and you hit the ground running. If you can't do this then just time the second W as late as you possibly can then do j.H when you land instead of standing H. That should work.

You were beating the launcher clean with every single attack. Though it does have super armor seemed like you just ripped through it.

because I know how he plays already. The single player cut scenes remind me of the Subspace Emissary cutscenes from SSB: Brawl.

God the main menu in this game is so fuckin stylish. I like it a lot. Caught myself just watching and listening to the music for a little while.

The SA frames on a standing H for big characters only protect them from weaks on ground. Anything else including a delayed weak will go through or cause clashing and possible stun. If you are going to use raw launcher as a big character, you have to guess when someone will toss out weak attacks on ground and use launcher first before they even start trying to hit you with a weak attack.
Yep, that visual delay messes things up. If you time your combos right they should never drop though, unless some weirdness happens.

Ah, thanks. Was trying to play through Quick match. Europe seems to be dead right now though.
Also people doesnt seem to able to sit still for 5 minutes to wait for a game to start.
