I tried a few battle royale and team battles, it was anarchy indeed, I don't think I'm used to playing something where I have so little control over the situation. It's more about movement and teaming on lone players than mind-games, I guess I just can't adjust to that, constantly getting interrupted when doing my combos is bad enough, but the lag just makes it worse. I do horrible in team battles.
However I have plenty of fun playing cage matches, even when I get my ass kicked it's still enjoyable. Because I have more control over the situation, I know that it's my fault for screwing up. Been using a lot of Max, using his step combo to bait a 360 attack and then punish with a full combo is extremely satisfying.
While playing with good players, I'm slowly figuring out the mind-games behind the game. As far as I know, light attacks and step combos are used to bait 360 attacks, if you think the opponent won't do 360, you can attempt to combo it into a heavy attack or even KW(but people will probably 360 the moment they see your KW come out). If the opponent is blocking, heavy attacks are also good for breaking guards, however if the opponent sees it coming they can dodge and punish you with light attacks, but if you see the dodge coming and continue your combo string with light attacks you have a good chance of catching him trying to retaliate and counter hit him, where you can do launcher into your strongest combo. I don't know if it's because of the connection, but throws have absurd range in this game, and can easily grab people out of dodges, making it another good method to punish people trying to dodge your attack strings.
This is what I have gathered so far.
