Anyone watching the hurricane coverage? Anderson Cooper and his sidekick are crazy. They should've cleared the area at least 30 minutes ago. Jesus!

Talk about making a fool out of yourself. I mean, you gotta admire having the balls to do something like that, but we get it. Wind is tearing shit up, you're in the middle of the storm, it's gonna get really bad... no need to stick around for that! :lol

I've always wondered if Anderson volunteers to go, or if CNN just sends him anyways.

I mean, he never gets an opportunity to host his show because of these friggin' disaster reports. It's like this is his vacation or something.

CNN's 24 hour hurricane coverage absolutely cracks me up.

Anderson and co standing around in the wind, shouting "We'd like to remind you that it's incredibly dangerous out here, don't go outside for ANY REASON!"

ACTION NEWS!

They must throw parties at CNN for every hurricane. Solid week of airtime they no longer have to worry about filling up.

Seriously, I know it's important, but shit, it's not THAT important. It's nice and sunny where I am. Think of all the other news the country is missing out on right now because of this hurricane.

Ehh, half accurate. Last night I was flipping channels and saw them stop the hurricane coverage... to go into MISSING ARUBA GIRL mode.

Anderson Cooper did the same thing during the last big hurricane. Namely, looked like an idiot. Hi, yes, we realize hurricanes involve wind, rain and flying debris. Do you really need to be in it to illustrate the point?

He is just compensating for the fact that Christiane Amanpour has more balls than he does. Anderson Cooper was in the middle east for like a day before he came running home. I am pretty sure Amanpour is out there with an AK-47, fucking cats UP.

Given some interviews I've seen/read with him, I'd gather he isn't volunteering for this crap. He can be rather blunt about knocking the stories he often has to cover.

so why is this missing girl so damn important? Personally, my day does not get better or worse depending on whether the girl is found or not.

Because talking about this missing girl 24/7 leaves no time to report on the fact that the supreme court just ruled private corporations can seize your home and property if they decide to develop it.

Among other things.

I am sick of all of these news anchors running out into a hurricane. They are fucking retarded. I'm surprised I haven't seen Scarborough out there yet.

Leave that shit to The Weather Channel.

Anderson Cooper got where he is today because of the risks he takes reporting...back when he was on channel one (a news program for schools consisting of young journalists) he was always over in kosivo(sp?) getting shot at in the streets. One time his car broke down in the middle of a street during a gun fight.

I've heard that Amanpour is CIA and has been for a long time. Talk about getting an agent in close... Plus, her husband, James Rubin was Clinton's State Dept spokesperson. See pic.

Btw, was it common knowledge that Anderson Cooper was gay? I had no idea, but a friend of a friend of mine runs in very affluent circles, and she says that Cooper is gay (she's met/seen him at numerous parties and functions).

For what it's worth, I like his reporting style. Good looking guy, too-- pulls off the gray hair better than any (relatively) young person I've ever seen. :p

Yeah, to those who watch the news. :lol

I've watched his show before-- several times, in fact-- and I never had a clue that he was gay. Guess my "gaydar" needs tuning. :D

It's a matter of timing. These stories about missing girls which lead to juicy courtroom dramas are guaranteed ratings grabbers for a demographic which I imagine is hard for cable news networks to reach otherwise. It's like asking why reality shows are so popular; they're real-life soap operas that provide continual speculation, gossip, and cathartic release.

Karl Rove? Is that you? Someone call Robert Novak.

Suikoguy

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions
The stuff he is in pales in comparision to what some storm chasers were in.
From the 2 Charley DVD's i've seen it really does make that stuff look tame.

and... thankfully I finished drinking before I read the MOLE comment :lol :lol

Anderson Cooper hosted The Mole? I had no idea, although I guess I wouldn't since I never watched it and didn't really know who he was until he hit CNN.

Haha, I just checked his IMDB profile. Here's a quote attributed to him: "Going gray is like ejaculating: you know it can happen prematurely, but when it does it comes as a total shock."

Andersoon Cooper is GAY? :lol Never would have guessed...

And I just saw that clip of the hurricane damage. I guess CNN has their first clip that they're going to play to death.

The Mole/The Mole 2 = greatest reality TV show ever. Seriously.

That other CNN reporter (kinda husky fellow with the southern accent) just recounted a story where they almost got trapped on a long bridge as the gulf was closing in around them... yep, they're totally insane.

Someone is gonna die from this eventually. By "someone" I mean people like Anderson Cooper.

Hope all is well, Phoenix!
