Ehh, half accurate. Last night I was flipping channels and saw them stop the hurricane coverage... to go into MISSING ARUBA GIRL mode.Diablos said:Seriously, I know it's important, but shit, it's not THAT important. It's nice and sunny where I am. Think of all the other news the country is missing out on right now because of this hurricane.
Diablos said:Talk about making a fool out of yourself. I mean, you gotta admire having the balls to do something like that, but we get it. Wind is tearing shit up, you're in the middle of the storm, it's gonna get really bad... no need to stick around for that! :lol
Given some interviews I've seen/read with him, I'd gather he isn't volunteering for this crap. He can be rather blunt about knocking the stories he often has to cover.Stench said:I've always wondered if Anderson volunteers to go, or if CNN just sends him anyways.

Holy shit. Dude has balls of steel.btrboyev said:Anderson Cooper got where he is today because of the risks he takes reporting...back when he was on channel one (a news program for schools consisting of young journalists) he was always over in kosivo(sp?) getting shot at in the streets. One time his car broke down in the middle of a street during a gun fight.

Interesting.Doth Togo said:I've heard that Amanpour is CIA and has been for a long time. Talk about getting an agent in close... Plus, her husband was Clinton's State Dept spokesperson.
Umpteen said:Anderson Cooper was in the middle east for like a day before he came running home. I am pretty sure Amanpour is out there with an AK-47, fucking cats UP.

Btw, was it common knowledge that Anderson Cooper was gay? I had no idea, but a friend of a friend of mine runs in very affluent circles, and she says that Cooper is gay (she's met/seen him at numerous parties and functions).
Incognito said:Yeah, to those who watch the news. :lol
Loki said:I've watched his show before-- several times, in fact-- and I never had a clue that he was gay. Guess my "gaydar" needs tuning.![]()
It's a matter of timing. These stories about missing girls which lead to juicy courtroom dramas are guaranteed ratings grabbers for a demographic which I imagine is hard for cable news networks to reach otherwise. It's like asking why reality shows are so popular; they're real-life soap operas that provide continual speculation, gossip, and cathartic release.bune duggy said:so why is this missing girl so damn important?
Karl Rove? Is that you? Someone call Robert Novak.Doth Togo said:I've heard that Amanpour is CIA and has been for a long time. Talk about getting an agent in close
Gruco said:They must throw parties at CNN for every hurricane. Solid week of airtime they no longer have to worry about filling up.

The Mole/The Mole 2 = greatest reality TV show ever. Seriously.Dan said:Anderson Cooper hosted The Mole? I had no idea, although I guess I wouldn't since I never watched it and didn't really know who he was until he hit CNN.
