Andor |OT| Disney+

I think the internet is such a vast place that pretty much every opinion is going to be represented to at least some extent. It's like when you see some article that says "Twitter says..." and it's just one guy with a hot take.

I found the original video and it has 645 views (and that's after this big channel has highlighted it) on an account that has 790 subscribers. They really spend hours talking about this?
They discuss multiple videos from that channel.

For those saying Andor is not true Star Wars, here's counter-arguments to that:

Also learned from this video that Nate Moore(Marvel producer, different leadership I know) doesn't hire people who like the source material but rather hire people who don't like it.

Who's even saying that?

Why that channel?
Good question. I assume EFAP gets requests to cover certain videos and that channel came up.

Listening to that guy in the video it could be a case of too low hanging fruit but I'm also learning some things about what makes Andor and the OG trilogy better than most of other Disney SW.

Blah, blah, random talking head.

It's a good TV show. That's all there is to it and all that matters. We don't need random people telling us shite.

The argument is more about if it's a true Star Wars show but yeah the guy's reaching in his argumentation it's not. :messenger_winking_tongue:

I saw the first two episodes of Andor on TV and I found it rather dull but I have to admit this was not long after my dad passed away so I was not in a mentally good state at the time.

I was thinking about getting Disney Plus just to catch up on Mando season 3 and Andor but I'm kind of torn between that or getting Paramount Plus for a month to watch some of the newer Star Trek.

Andor is my favorite live action SW since the OT.

It's a slower burn though, so prepare your mindset if you decide to jump in. It's easily the best writing and acting we've ever seen in the franchise. It is the one reason I won't write off Kathleen Kennedy completely. She definitely deserves credit for greenlighting this show that literally no one wanted. Season 2 is the only thing keeping my shred of SW fandom left intact.

It's gonna be depressing knowing what happens to him in Rogue One

Yeah, the first two episodes were on satellite TV as a sort of special. I was really bored watching them but again, my mindset at the time was not good. My dad passed away recently and I was going through a lot of shit. I'm still going through a lot since he passed away in November of 2022.

I am more than willing to give Andor another try. I just want to be in the right state of mind to do it.

Sorry to hear about your dad. That's gotta be an ordeal which will color a lot about how you feel about relatively trivial things such as how your leisure time is spent. On the other hand, probably a perfect time to sink into some absolutely meaningless escapism, and spend a little time mentally chewing on some things that really don't matter. That all being said.

I tuned into Andor when it was pretty fresh, before all the hoopla caught on. Made myself sit through first 2 episodes and thought "that's it? Um.. who cares?" Then I saw some posts on FB celebrating the style/props of the show and such, and it caught my eye "even if the story of the show isn't doing much for me, this eye candy looks pretty on point!" I restarted and got to episode 3 and then it hit me "oh shit this show is actually.. really fucking GOOD!" and just went from there. I'm not a Star Wars guy either, just saying. But yeah, hopefully you can find some solace losing yourself in this & other pursuits while you mourn & adjust.
