good !

but nothing on the web version of the play store (or I cannot find it)
which is sad since I mostly use it for browsing the apps

Yea I can't seem to find it in the webstore either. It's implemented in the app though. Top right side of any app page, there's a small banner with a + sign on it to add to your wishlist.

Google "MarketEnabler" and set your carrier to DoCoMo.

Get a Japanese SIM card if you do not want to root your phone. I think that's how they detect it.

Thanks for the info. The SIM option won't work for me since I'm using a tablet but I will keep that in mind if I ever get a compatible phone. I kind of got Market Enabler to work but couldn't find FF Dimensions, or is it Legends? The Market Enabler app didn't have many option but I found the number for DoCoMo through some Google searching. Ended up on the Play store everything was in Japanese but it still felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. Wondering if I may have to setup a proxy. Anyone have a direct link to the app webpage from the Play store? Or do I have to tap into this http://www.destructoid.com/square-enix-opens-its-own-android-marketplace-216277.phtml (Square Enix Market) to get it?

Update:

Think I may have gotten something. Went to the The Square Enix Market where they let me download FFL and Chrono Trigger. Got them to install but they crash as soon as I try to open each app.

It's probably because it's a checking for an unexistent verification. The folks at XDA haven't had any success either.

Death Dome would be a pretty nice Infinity Blade clone if it wasn't so IAP focused. It's kinda gross. Same reason why I didn't care for Dead Trigger.

Any of you guys have the HTC One x? I got it real cheap and I want to get some cheap games for it.

I'm tired of hauling around a 3ds

EDIT- yeah I'm dumb

It's pretty sweet compared to my old piece of dog shit xperia

F2P truly is the cancer of gaming and Android in particular. As long as people believe that F2P is the only way to make money on Android this crap will continue.

I'm sure most of you have played it already, but Bad Piggies HD is really great.

After Angry Birds being just okay, and Amazing Alex being kind of lack luster, I didn't really expect much from Rovio.

Then they released THIS, and it's like a 2D Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts! That is probably one of my favorite games released this generation so needless to say I love it.

You basically have to build a vehicle to get to the end of each level, and along the way there are objectives. Grab a box, get to the end without using "X" part, stuff like that. It's really just a great game. I honestly wish they had a paid version on the Play Store so I could show support for it.

The Ad's in the game aren't egregious at all either, only showing up in the pause screen.

You can buy the game ad free at Amazon if you like, or just get it free in the play store with Ads.

Thought I should mention that IndieGameStand offers Cardinal Quest for Android (as well PC, Mac, and Linux) as pay what you want for the next 3 days.
Paying more than the average also grants you the Android game, Pakkuman’s Defense

Kemco are having a sale on most of their games until the 28th. What are their RPGs like? They all seem to be rated pretty highly. I'm hovering between Eve of the Genesis and Symphony of Eternity

Picked up a few games after I jumped to Android.

Rayman Jungle Run looks gorgeous and plays very well too. Been spending a lot of time with it this week.

Amazing Alex has been a bit of a disappointment. Will uninstall it sometime soon. (I was a huge fan of TIM).

Where's My Perry is decent as well. (I do dislike the big Where's My Water ad integrated into the menu).

Loving Dungeon Village. Charming game and very addictive. The interface is a bit clunky at times but not a huge problem.

So i've been playing Knights of Pen & Paper for a while and so far it's pretty good. It basically is a single player pen and paper RPG just that you control the dungeon master and the characters. You build a party of up to 5 players (you can start with 2) and the dungeon master sets you off on different quests. Complete quests for money to gain new characters, upgrades, items and decorations for your table which affects your characters stats. Battles are your standard turn based RPG fight/magic/defend.

There are some glitches with the game shop but im sure the developer will sort them out.

What are the best options for Board Game style games on Android? I'm particularly looking for games like Ticket to Ride, Carcassone, Dominion, etc.

I just made the switch from Blackberry Bold to Samsung Galaxy S III, and am suddenly loving life btw.

This actually looks pretty good - thanks for the heads up!

Finally part of the smartphone generation, and with an intent of picking up a tablet in a little while (maybe waiting to see what appears next week, first!), so I've been trawling through this thread for recommendations.

There's a lot of stuff that seems to have fallen off the bottom of the store, though. No sign of the first NOVA, no sign of Asphalt 5. Do things just time out, or were they removed for a reason?

Also trying to remember if Triple Town is the 'good' or 'evil' clone. Same goes for that tower game the name of which escapes me!

Does the 'buy one get phone+tablet versions' thing that iDevices have also apply to Android? I'm trying to dig out a nice comic reader that'd both work on the S3 and on a future tablet - planning ahead, y'see!

They probably removed Asphalt 5 seeing as how 6 and 7 are on the store now. Sometimes if you can't find a particular app, it might mean that it's not compatible with your device. This shouldn't happen a lot considering you have an S3 but it happens.

I think triple town was the good version. Like wise, the tower game you're looking for is probably Tiny Tower which is the good one. The clone was from Zynga and named something else.

And yes, you buy apps once and they will work on all compatible devices.

Ì'm looking for a tablet for my dad. He's getting hip surgery in a week and won't be able to work for a couple of months. He's the kind of guy who's worked all his life and doesn't really have any elaborate hobbies, apart from watching TV, playing Dr. Mario on my old GBA SP and flash games on PC. I've looked into getting an iPad, but it's out of my price range. Currently interested in the Nexus or the Galaxy Tab 2. I'd rather have a 10 inch pad tbh, but the Nexus 7 seems like the best bang for the buck at the moment. Any advice for me?

Also, do you guys have tips for games for my dad? I think he'd like match three types, card games and stuff like Zuma.

Triple Town is a great game, and as far as I know it doesn't have a clone. Like spindoctor said, you're probably thinking of Tiny Tower, which had a clone made by Zynga called Dream Heights.

Thanks, going to grab Cesto now :)

I think Funky Smugglers is well worth a look, currently has a 4.8 rating and got a very nice 9.0 on IGN (reviewed by GAF's very own Justin!)

Also lets you join the battle of Android vs iOS, interesting to see how that one turns out :)

Guys, just out of curiosity I bought that Alphadia Kemco RPG yesterday for my Sony Tablet S. Or tried to, I guess - as soon as I launch the game I'm told the app needs authentication, so I must turn 3G on and Wi-Fi off... yeah, this is a tablet, not a phone. I was still in time for a refund, though. What a bummer, does anyone know if there's a workaround for this?

Anyway, I was in the mood for actually buying a game for my tablet instead of downloading only free stuff (the only games I've bought were the Android humble bundle titles) and I bought Reckless Racing 2. Haven't played it yet, hope it doesn't suffer too much from touch controls.

'twas both. Triple Town had a hoo-hah with Yeti Town, I looked it up

Two things.

One, if you're open to rooting/modifying a device you buy, then look into the HP Touchpad. By default it runs WebOS but modders have stuck Android on it and it makes a fantastic tablet for a very appealing price. You can usually pick it up for sub $200 for the 32gb version, and it's a 10 inch. Do know that there are some quirks though, like the front facing camera not working.

Two, Google is expected to launch a Nexus 10 soon, that people are guessing will be approximately the same size as the new iPad Mini. If you think it can wait, I'd at least wait for the announcement which I believe is this friday.

Hey yo! I put this in the iOS thread today, so it's only right I put it in here too!

Here's a gameplay video of my iOS/Android game, Chopper Mike, running at 60 frames per second, fully pixel lit on a Samsung Galaxy S2! Also works on iPhone 4/4S/5, iPad and Android tablets too!

The menus are in flux... all going to be changed. And I know it says 'shop' but that's coming out. 99p and the whole game is yours! Should be out next month.

You can also follow progress on Twitter: @jamielowesdev

And today I got a Nexus 7... Plug it in, click, click, click... and BAM!! 60 frames per second 7 inch helicopter action...!!

Awesome little machine!!

Take it easy, and keep it VAMflax...!! ;D

From Joystiq:

Waking Mars, the iOS game that we thought was out of this world, is coming to PC, Mac, Linux and Android on November 6, via the Humble Android Bundle and the Humble store on the game's own website.

Either that's a mistake or someone accidentally let slip that there's another Android Humble Bundle coming in a couple of weeks.

Any recommendations on some JRPGs? Saw the Final Fantasy games were available but didn't want to bother with those again. Anything similar to those?

Devil's Attorney is a fun, but extremely easy on "normal," strategy game that you guys might enjoy.

If anyone here cares about music games, O2Jam U just got a pretty significant update. You can buy songs now instead of just paying per play, and there's options to adjust latency/sync.

Perhaps old news but Ski Safari got an 7 MB update with some new unlocks and course. Still one of the best short "to go" games for me and i usually don't play much games on my One X.

Anyone playing Pen & Paper RPG? How is it?

The new ski safari is great. I didn't even know about the multiple levels and that each has it's own challenges and high scores. Probably in the top 5 games on Android easily. Everything in the game looks outstanding, the gameplay is fun and it's easy to pick up, runs smoothly, and it supports a majority of Android devices.

I like Ski Safari but it runs really choppy on my Galaxy S3 and I have no idea why. It's not like the game is graphically intensive or anything. I was hoping the latest update would improve performance but no dice.

Reckless Racing 2 is okay with a PS3 controller. Lots of content and options, just a bit slow and the frame rate isn't great. Love top-down racers.
