According to Engadget PlayStation music will support free ad-supported playback. Guess I'm keeping my Play Music sub.

All this micro SD card talk is coming just in time, now that I'm running out of space on my Nexus 5. I honestly never thought that 16 GB wouldn't be enough for me, because I never ran into storage issues with my Galaxy Nexus. Then again, Nokia was awesome enough to ship the 920 with 32 GB as the standard SKU (in 2012!), so I probably never thought about it in the past year.

Looking at the storage in my settings, the device ships with 12.55 GB total space (of the advertised 16 GB).

Apps, app data and media content takes up 5.21 GB
Pictures and videos 329 MB (so that's clearly not the problem)
Audio is 276 KB (yes, it's empty)
Downloads only 12.65 MB (few pictures)
Cached data 5.48 GB (now this is what I don't really understand)
Misc. 408 MB

When I check the apps, the biggest ones for me are Spotify (753 MB), HERE Maps (548 MB), AC Unity (505 MB), Podcast Addict (481 MB). The rest are all smaller apps with less than 200 MB (only four have more than 100 MB).

Tapping on cached data only allows me to "clear cached data for all apps", but when I check the individual apps, it's saying that they have only cached few KB or MB. So what exactly gets deleted, once I hit that button? Am I going to lose all settings? I feel like it's not really well explained.

Are there any battery apps so need for my Android device? I used Battery Guru before but I don't think it made a big difference.

And which widgets are you guys using?

it will depend on the apps you use. The apps that, for me, use most caché storage are: Google play music, Flickr, Dropbox, since first one stores non pinned music unless you have it disabled on options, and Flickr and dropbox use a lot of space for thumbnails and Flickr stores the entire picture if you select it.

The only app i use if sometimes i detect a battery drain is cpuspy to check if the device goes into deep sleep.

As for widgets I only use a flashlight one, Soundsearch and Calendar.

I used clean master and tried a few different battery ones but on here and other forums most people kept saying avoid all this kind of stuff. Since I have not used anything and I don't really see any difference..

I dono, the pyro/wreav iPhone 6 club sure posts quite a bit and they can't stop raving about apple.

Edit: Moto X 2013 is still my daily and its the best touch screen phone I've ever owned.
Good rave or bad rave? Apple's way of doing things is so obtuse even for first time users. Sure, they've got a great business model of selling hopes and dreams but the iPhone is still a kids toy in how it functions.

iPhone 6 is winning...right now...

Soon, it will be the M9/Moto X 2015/N7. Big whoop. Whatever floats your boat.

Those low standards, tho
Pctx am cry. Honestly though, the iPhone can't become something it is not. We'll never an led light, a non-app home screen, file system or otherwise user features that actually benefit said enduser.

Of course this begs the question of what do you expect a smart phone to do for you anyways?

Chrome 41 has pull down to refresh. Game changer.
Holy crap this decision is stupid. Pull down to refresh makes NO sense on a browser, unless you're on Twitters website or something. New content isn't displayed above. It makes sense on Twitter because new posts are at top. But 99% of webpages don't work like that. It's a meaningless gesture.

Perversion of genius design innovations.

Owned one for a while. Underwhelming and absurdly heavy. The amount of times my finger would come to rest on the camera instead of the dimple was super annoying.

iPhone is still a kids toy in how it functions.

When people say dumb shit like this, it only serves to show they can't evaluate things critically and are blinded by their preferences.

Its the perfect size imo. Not sure how it could be underwhelming considering it has great features that still aren't in other phones today. Drive mode, always listening etc. I love the damn thing besides the camera missing indoor shots sometimes.

Please understand google here, it's hard to find additional screen estate for the button since phones are getting bigger and bigger...wait...

Yup. I mean, I would kind of understand if they took it away only in potrait mode, but not in landscape? Do I really need to see the full URL of where I am?

I don't like how my N6 camera is in the center of the phone. My finger crosses there from time to time.

Note 4 has always listening. X 2013 screen was terribad with the yellow cast, and the camera was the worst of any flagship in years.

Always listening on the note 4 barely works. Lollipop has issues with it still. I have never noticed the yellow.

So again the drive mode and always listening have yet to be matched.

yeah... my note 4 is 7ft away from me right now. i haven't touched it since last night. it has a pin lock on. i just said "ok google" and it responded. like it always does. so did my Note 2.

But that's what I don't get. When I go to Settings -> Storage -> Apps and check the app cache, it's usually a low amount. So what exactly is this apparently separate huge 5 GB app cache?

e: Also, OEMs can all go bankrupt if they release a flagship with a 16 GB base model and no micro SD slot in 2015. Jesus.

should be pull up from bottom.

or... or... or... just have a damn button!

The old thread has to be closed after 20k posts, so the new one needs to be ready right away. Not that it matters anymore, I'd need way more time anyway. The ghetto style OT suits Android better.

Just do a ghetto ass one for now and update to its full glory later if you like. It doesn't look like anyone is clamouring to make the thread.

So you're calling me a dumb shit? That's nice. I've owned an iPhone 3GS and a 4 and by proxy through my wife who had a 4S and I gave up on how incredibly dumbed down the Apple experience is; Hence, kids toy. The example I tell people (which most actually agree with) that it is the equivalent of me telling my son to only play with his toy truck a certain way. Think about that.

This is the most Android post in a while, can you please quote this in the OT of the new thread, AJ?

For people who use Google Voice for their voicemail (but still use their carrier's phone number):

Somewhat recently I have noticed that if I ignore a call coming in to my cell phone, it will be forwarded to my Google Voice number, but instead of going straight to voicemail, my Google Voice number will ring first. I am pretty sure that the voicemail forwarding used to forward straight to Google Voice voicemail, without ringing for that number first.

Anyone know how to fix this issue?
