According to GSMArena, the stock music player is Google Play? Sucks if true. Not that the Samsung Stock one is any better, but I'm not a big fan of Google Play Music as an internal music player.
It's kind of crazy that gsmarena is the only review that gave me any useful info about the phone lol.
Every other review I could have written without even touching the phone.

Reviews are pretty pointless nowadays. They don't even talk about reception or call quality in 95% of reviews. They hit a few bullet points such as fingerprint scanner and camera and design and call it a day. Erica Griffin still does decent reviews atleast.
I agree. I feel like the videos and articles that do follow ups after a few months of owning the phone are a better reflection of what the phone is really like. A pretty obvious statement, but that's just how I feel.

I'm not a big fan of her reviews TBH. When she goes into her nerd rant about RGB calibration, I fall asleep.

I noticed that the Play Store got updated. It looks pretty good.
I wonder if the update button in the notification finally just updates the damn apps without throwing you into the Play Store. I really hate that behavior, because it renders the actionable notification button useless.

Well, it's a case by case basis.
Most people are just generally oblivious too. Like I bet a Samsung runs fine if you don't use iphones or oneplus or pixel much.

Yeah, unlimited txting doesnt seem to be universal in places like Europe or the ME like it is in America. Services like Whatsapp are critcal to bypassing SMS limits which I don't think Americans would understand.
Watch a queue of any review and see how many times its predecessor is mentioned. Phones or not.

Based on the reviews, this forum had the hot takes of S8 months ago. I stopped reading phone reviews years ago. A phone is either good, mediocre, or bad. There's no need to go into big detail unless you're deciding between models. For enthusiasts, I'm not sure what to expect except the obvious hot takes we can predict months in advance.
S8 is a good phone and a good purchase if you need a phone now. S7 owners who bought on launch, has your phone degraded in performance yet?
I don't blame Samsung for doing Bixby. You shouldn't rely on Google for anything. Assistant is cool but not good.
Augmented reality will be a big deal very soon. I'm calling it like I called the 3.5 aux jack removal years in advance.

Well I think its excellent so far. Love my home, esp for a first gen product.
As for relying on google, its pretty hard for me not to rely on google for an awful lot of my internet experience , from search to online video, to cloud storage, to music, to communications.
I just think a phone is the wrong place for it. Besides I guess AR games.
Very bold to pick the thing Apple did/is doing 2 years in a row as a 'prediction' for the next big thing.

Of course for the most part their s versions of apps like youtube all fail so you'd think at some point they'd give up.
Certainly. I know for me that's one reason why I have no interest in the echo for instance.
Its also a big reason why I could not buy a Windows Phone as much as I liked the OS and hardware. No Google apps and services. Hell they can probably kill any streaming device by withholding youtube. Netflix can probably do the same.

True in terms of a sd820 phone.
Axon 7 though got. 1440p screen with daydream support, separate dac, great stereo speakers.
Most flagships don't have those lol.
