Animal Crossing: New Horizons |OT| Self-isolating on a deserted island

I'm going to grab this since everywhere is closed and there's not much to do. I've never played one of these games before. It looks kind of stupid but I can see myself getting pulled in.

Same here. Not usually my type of game but who knows, I've been super surprised before by jumping in & trying games I'd never have thought I'd like. Fingers crossed.

My first real "Animal Crossing" game... got my copies for me and my daughter digitally. We are loving it already. The museum guy's tent has been set up, my house going up tomorrow, and doing tons of crafting and all. My pocket size is little small - not sure how to expand it yet though.

I had pretty slow day at work - so I was able to put a couple hours into it while killing some time. With all the stuff going around - I found the experience was quite relaxing. Just the game that I needed. I was thinking of playing this game as side game while I tackle others - it looks like it may become my main game and while playing other games on the side... lol

I've been quite absorbed into this game, loving it so far. Friend code below, not really sure when the whole interacting occurs just fish-grinding my brains out so far

Got two essential tips if you haven't figured them out already:

1- Keep tapping A during crafting animation to speed it up
2- Use the right stick to jump immediately to the completed Nook Miles

Not much but hopefully it helps :)

Good tips. I would add that you should save up your nook miles for the 'good tools diy recipe" it's much much easier to deal with the breakages then

How? I never played AC I was surprised the camera was locked. I just never thought a out it. I wouldnt mind trying another view.

Down on right analog. Takes you to a GameCube-ish view. You can also press up while still, to get a really nice view of the sky, and horizon.

I can get my house upgrade soon

Built a shop already I see. Nice! I am collecting nuggets as the final step

YES! How much do they get sold for?

It's foggy, but I remember this stuff going for megabucks in the others.

But I'm wondering if you can craft with it. Gold tools, maybe? ^ _ ^

I only have 2 gold nuggets so far they seem really rare even on island trips I will save them for late game to see what golden room I can create

edit: OMG my island is out of weeds :( need more weeds

Got the expanded storage and the next tier tools from the Nook Stop. 4 more items to donate to Blathers before he upgrades. Wife is playing now.

This game is like crack.

Is this like the old DS AC, where the game time was locked to your console time?

Because only being able to play at 1am got old really quickly.

My Best Buy preorder said for weeks I would get it on Friday. I just now got a message from UPS saying delivery was delayed until Monday. :(

Yes. That's how all animal crossing games work I believe.

I swear Tom Nook said someone was always available in the shop. Haven't tried playing super late yet.

So for the communicator parts, are you just meant to dig in random spots on the beach? I don't see any sort of indication of where the parts are.
