Yes, you should try Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning.

I second Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. I played a lotta hours out of that game! It's substantially better when compared to the previous HMs on DS/3DS.

(Or better yet if you're in NA get Rune Factory 4 next month cuz I know I will.)

There are four mannequins in total. One will be given to you by GracieGrace when you get the final T&T store and buy something from her. The other three are from the Able Sisters.

You get one by becoming friends with Sable
You get one by buying 51 (i think?) pieces of clothing from Mable
And the last is unconfirmed. You get it from Labelle, but some are saying you have to buy 31 accessories (which doesn't seem to be the case), some are saying you have to buy an accessory for 31 days straight.

There's "Harvest Moon: A New Beginning" available on 3DS and it seems that it's the best iteration since quite a long time (Friends of Mineral Town on GBA). They're great games, by the way. Without human interaction, I would play Harvest Moon over Animal Crossing (I play both, even if there's so many HM iteration that I won't spend a lot of time with everyone of them)

I only played the GBA one and though I think I could have liked it, I didn't really enjoy it. Too much time constraints, you're always under stress to do everything properly.

So I've finally confirmed how you get Labelle's mannequin. It is indeed having to buy from her for 31 days, I'm not 100% sure if those 31 days have to be in a row since I did that anyway, but it is definitely NOT 31 items total and it is also NOT just glasses or face items like people have said, because on a couple of days I only bought hats.

You can tell when you'll get a mannequin because she'll welcome you to the store by name and her dialogue commenting about it being for men/women/unisex is different.

Rosie asks one of life's greatest questions. "Just what the hell do people do with turnips anyway?"

And then gives me yet another awesome public work request. <3

Just planted a ton of fruit after buying a lot of turnips. Starting to really get my fruit orchards growing. Planted a few perfect peach trees too.

I remember how easy it was to get the golden axe on the DS version and I wish it was that easy here. Still going through an axe or two every time I want to clear some trees to replant with fruit trees.

There are flowers everywhere now in my village (really) but I change every compositions to diagonal ones and get lot of hybrids I'm missing.

if you want to do it on purpose, from what i've read if you go into someone's town and they have their boxes packed and you talk to them you can try to convince them to come to your town. otherwise i think they end up with people you've streetpassed, or visited.
