I know what you mean. I felt the same way at the beginning, but you need to learn to just let go. I myself haven't even touched the turnip stuff because it just doesn't interest me. Instead, I mostly focus on dressing my character in cool ways, redecorate my house or talk with my villagers.
Trying to "max out" the game like you described is almost a guarantee that you will burn out on it. Trading it because you stress out over it is throwing out the baby with the bath water - just close the game, let it sit on the shelf for a week and go back to it. Or maybe even weeks or months later and see how everything has changed.
I myself just lean back and mess around in the game just as I please. Fuck those turnip bells. What do you even need so much money in the game at once?
