just got 3ds xl and animal crossing.
really hyped and i'm going to start playing tomorrow.
what's going to happen. yeah, I really loved dark souls, so it's going to be something like that. jumping in to the dark`?

Welcome. A word of warning: Animal Crossing is a slow burn, especially early on. I wouldn't expect to play more than an hour or two the first day, or any day for that matter. It takes time for certain things to unlock, and when you don't have many bells or a filled out catalog, it's difficult to get deep into customizing your town. It's not really a game you can pull marathon sessions of. More like a bonsai tree you have water and trim daily to get the way you like it, which makes it a really relaxing experience, imo.

Anyone having trouble with the 3DS Image Share? I've been trying to update Diggeh in Shindig but it keeps saying "Logging into Tumblr is currently not available".

Even going to Tumblr itself doesn't work because there's no button to continue after entering in your information.

Yep. I haven't been able to log in. Ugh. It's been a days (or weeks) for me.

Anyone have a solution?

If you use a 3DS-friendly email like Gmail, you can email pictures directly to a Tumblr account. There's an address somewhere in the Tumblr settings. The subject field works as a caption and pictures are uploaded as attachments though I think there's a limit of four per post when using that method.

Yeah that thing is busted. Even though they say the log in is unavailable that is a lie. It just takes a couple dozen tries but you can log in. Just keep trying to reload the page through the 3ds image share. Eventually there will be both the place to input your name/password and the button to log you in.

I think the problem is that the tumblr log-in page has some huge ass picture and the 3DS tries to load that first and is just like - nope, not going to happen, and the whole page stops loading.

I had problems loading it up the first time but kept trying and it worked. Then later they put up that 'unavailable' message but I was still logged in. Then I stupidly cleared the cache/cookies off my 3DS and had to log in to tumblr again - ugh. But I still got it to work eventually even though that unavailable message was there.

Luckily once you are logged in (and don't clear your cache/cookies) you don't have to worry about it again. Every couple days or so they will ask you to allow the 3ds to access tumblr but the page that loads is fast and only has the deny/allow buttons, so no wrestling with the tumblr log-in page again.

I was doing the 2 days forward 2 days back method... But I discovered rather than running around trying to ping, you can jump 2 days forward, save, then jump 6 days forward and create a new character... When the new character is made you check to see who moves. Then go back and get them to ping. BUT... I'm a moron. I jumped 6 days and got distracted and loaded the game normal instead of as a new character. And Gaston's house was gone. After a little bit of crying I was able to see the humor. Now i'm mostly disappointed and mad at myself. But it's still kinda funny. I also lost a lot of desire to play.

Ouch, I'm so sorry. It's quite risky and you really need to master it before you can do it without losing anyone. Let me just find a link to a guide that is very useful. I use it on my main (if I have to) and my TT town and Hsvent lost a single villager doing it. Very tedious though

Go to international island to catch a rainbow stag, some dude is already there, no big. Chop the trees down, he's wasting time picking up the fruit, flowers, and shells, whatever. After like 10 minutes, see a rainbow stag. As I sneak up to catch it...he leaves, making the rainbow stag disappear -_- then somebody else joined before I could start a tour (to prevent new people from joining) and she made us disconnect. Sigh.
