Every time you get your fortune you get a little message like "Love is in the air" or something that is supposed to hint at what your good luck item will affect. But does it effect the day that you get your fortune or the next day? I got a fortune yesterday hinting at Gracie appearing, but I doubt that if I wore my lucky item that she would just magically appear. But I got a fortune today that hinted that my relationship with villagers of the opposite sex would be better, and it would be weird if it only affected me the next day. This fortune stuff is kinda confusing.

I don't think fortunes hint at special visitors appearing as they're random on boot up/start of a new day and not assigned to any specific date or day. If you boot up with a new character and Gracie is there, then quit without saving she won't be anymore. Totally randomised.

For some reason I can't paste the link on the mobile version (running beta software, bugs) but check out the Thonky guide on Katrina for the different types of luck and what they affect that day.

Ultimately Katrina says a lot of random stuff too, what do you expect from a fortune teller?

From my experience they work as trees in regard to how close they can be in relation to houses, PWPs etc but they can be planted directly next to each other unlike trees.

They can be tree or bush adjacent, but need at least one space from anything else, I think.

I got tired of all the watering and switched back to Beautiful Town, and finally got a few red rose+ appearing. Still no luck with the pink cosmos/tulips though.

Golden shovel works differently in New Leaf and is actually from buying fertilizer, which won't be until the very last Nookling upgrade and will take quite a while.

Gracie will be loitering outside at the town plaza.

That's why I have my random trees all over the place with the fruit on. I like the colour. Plus I'm reluctant to lay down paths as I like the countryside feel to everything. But it does mean people just run about all over the place - and pee on my plants

Got Katrina in town. And strangely I have also Katie again in my town. I mean, she was here yesterday and tried to shove her in the train when I was visiting a town, but she lost her ticket. Still got her present today. So you can have Katie multiple days after each other? So if someone wants her this evening.

And I feel a bit stupid now. Yesterday I was asking for the last fossil, the apato skull. Wel, I got today the apato skull and Blathers just ignores it, so that means that I have it in my museum, right? So I went back to the fossil and... could it be that I mistaken the skull for a tail? Does the apato has such a tiny head? Its the left part of the three part fossil that I'm missing. *sigh*

So I'm missing the apato tail, I guess...

Got some tails for fossils, but no iguadon one, so I can't help you today, Azure.

And harvest my first perfect peach tree. Planted another 3 now.
