I do not know if its shitty. It is certainly hentai without the explicit sex but these stories should also exist. It is basically a revenge Story we have seen tons of time with female Character in the age of explotation etc. I just wonder how far they will go in the end.

Being a villain and doing bad things is one thing but this series goes beyond the pale especially because it just continues to escalate and is excessive. From what I've heard as to "why" Redo of Healer got an Anime. Supposedly the Light Novels sold surprisingly very well in Japan.
Also, if it were a Hentai, well, you'd only get what, one 20 minute OVA episode probably these days? Animated Hentai doesn't really sell anymore I don't think in the current business models, and I don't even think there are as many studios as there used to be making animated stuff anymore.
It's just a thought but I imagine that Interspecies Reviewers helped open the door for this, since it showed that you could at least air that sort of stuff on Japan's ATX channel. But also, the controversy alone it would generate would ensure far more exposure to the show, and they also got a distributor in the West (HIDive) that wouldn't (so far) pull any shenanigans like how Funimation did with the Reviewers.

You can stream it through HiDive, though that's not of course a big distributor.
ATX is I believe a premium channel, so it won't have the same kind of show popularity as regular network channels.

Yeah I heard about this and looked it up and it seems genuinely disgusting and disturbing...
I mean at least with Goblin Slayer the whole plot doesn't literally revolve around basically revenge snuff rape etc.........
There is a huge difference between a story that contains rape and a story that essentially glamorizes and indulges in it in a perverse way, Goblin Slayer never glamorizes it even with the albeit maybe too sexualized scenes and while it does influence the plot it doesn't just revolve around it.
It'd be as if Game of Thrones just revolved entirely around Ramsey torturing and violating Sansa, I think people would be justified in being upset about it.
But then this situation is like people going after the real Game of Thrones instead of that alternate snuff Game of Thrones.

Not saying that this show shouldn't be allowed to exist, just that people should at least understand why they're mad.

The most '' extreme '' thing I'll say about it is that I do find it disturbing how popular it is and I do find that problematic, but I also feel the same about most pornography and how aggressive and demeaning towards the women it VERY often is.
Same goes for so much 2D and animated porn too, it's pretty disturbing to me how common violence is and how the female characters are so often drawn as hesitant or straight up not enjoying it at all or like their mind is blank...
It just disturbs and upsets me how common it is, not that it exists altogether.
How does it glamorizes all this? These people are insane. None of them is seen as a good person. He is not a hero he is protagonist that was broken an now breaks others. In 2 episodes in there are no good people in there.

When you see these characters you see their fear. They psychologically break apear and you can see this. this is not the case in lets say Games of thrones.

It's funny, people were complaining how the series didn't have enough gore the first 12 episodes. So it's like they answered by ramping it up to 1000.
That was one of the most uncomfortably gruesome scenes I've ever seen in an Anime. It lasted forever too (half the episode), and they didn't shy away from showing all the details. Perhaps my empathy is a bit high because I've experienced abdominal discomfort, and that shit is the most painful shit you could ever imagine. So seeing what was depicted here was like, oh man.

The original VN doesn't really even contain any graphical scenes, perhaps some descriptions at best which are still few and far between.

A lot of people complained that they can't top Deen in gore and look what we got. Higurashi was always a mystery Visual Novel not a psychological horror one, sadly Deen gave it an edgy reputation and everyone has to live up to that standard.

Just finished Garo: Vanishing Line and it was great. The characters were cool and well designed and the story stayed interesting up to the end. Ending was OK. Really liked this anime overall.

It was one of the pioneers of current web novel isekai trend, but naturally it didn't invent the concept of reborning/transporting to a different world, something straight out of the monomyth. I suppose these novels were also largely inspired by SAO and Zero no Tsukaima.
Mushoku Tensei is also in a way one of the 'isekai-est' of the modern isekais, for good and bad which is its problem.
I don't think the novel is ever that good in the first place. The anime is only enjoyable because its well produced.
