*Tumbleweeds*
So I ordered the mod.2 9mm, in bi-tone (cuz that's how it is) and am waiting for it arrive at my local gun store.
I also got some range time to put a couple hundred rounds through the XD and a CX4 storm. Even as a novice the groupings I got on the carbine impressed me a lot.
Let's see if I can become a gun fetishist without adopting the horrible NRA/anti-federal political crap.
Revised new year's resolution: Don't shoot myself in the dick.
I hadn't thought much yet about it but I keep hearing the alien gear IWB holster is really good. I will check out what you mentioned as well.
You know the first thing I tried was my friend's glock 37 .40 and it made me worry I would be horrible. Everything would be lined up and accounted for but I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. When I rented the 9mm I'm buying it was a totally different experience.

Uncle brought his .357 Colt Python over last weekend and shot a few rounds through it. What a beauty.
Well I've done a few IPSC matches after doing the holster accreditation a while back and love it - so much better than static target shooting. I do have to relearn some trigger control though - the different environment and faster shooting had me snatching at the trigger.
Also, I'm fully reloading my own ammo. At 9mm, it probably doesn't make much difference in the US, but here I'm saving at least 50c a round and I'm putting together the loads I want. My gear should pay for itself in 2000 rounds (1400 to go). Also, I just like the process.
Seeing some of the guys shoot major has me interested in a higher powered pistol though, mostly because the lead hits the steel so much harder and I like a challenge. Due to calibre restrictions, 357 sig is pretty much the hottest round I can shoot IPSC in this state at the moment, so I might go down that route in Standard division. I've tried to find a 357 sig barrel for a PPQ, but I don't think they exist just yet.
BUY THIS
Putting that work in this weekend

You can't go wrong with either. I love my 45C and have shot multiple UPS's and love those too. I would also suggest the VP9, its easily the best striker fired pistol I have used.
Well they did just introduce a VP40 so hopefully a 45 is on the way.The VP9 is way too similar to the PPQ M2 for me to even consider it. Now if they make a VP45 I'd be game.

Yeah. A VP45 or VP9c would be something I instabuy.
Buy a mark23 and give me your old one. I need something I can use as a club when I run out of bullets.
Sorry bro you'll have to get your own. My friend came to the range with me for the first time Sunday and shot it. He was like "I know what I'm buying next". I don't think he has a clue how much it costs.
Got a Zenith MP5 pistol and Surefire handguard. I'm gonna submit a form 1 to SBR it before too long.
Point 1: in pistol IPSC the skill gulf between shooters is so vast that results-wise, equipment almost doesn't matter until you are doing very well. So if you want to own a single-stack 1911 and enter Standard competitions for practice, I say go for it, buy some extra magazines and holsters and don't worry about "competetive". You aren't really competing with anyone except yourself for a long time after getting into the sport.Well that would satisfy my desires to get a 1911 and get into 357 magnums. It does look fun as hell, but 7+1 wouldn't be competitive. Saying that, I could shoot some matches with it for fun, so I could see myself owning one some day.
What are the optics on your SCAR. Excellent can.
Couldn't pass up a HK VP40 (I'll have pictures later).
Went on Armslist. Guy bought a VP40 for his duty pistol. Unfortunately his job wouldn't let him use it. Bought less than a month ago with 40 rounds down range. 2 Extra Magazine, 60 Hornady Critical Defense, and a IWB Holster.
He was asking for $640. For shits I said $500. A few days later he finally says yes. Damn thing is flawless.
Fuck dudes!!
I won the mystery safe at my clubs gun bash.

So... that proposed suppressor law. Any chance of it going anywhere? I'd like to get a suppressor at some point but the process has me sayin' "meh."
Sup, gungaf. I acquired a cool new rifle. It's a South Korean Daewoo K2 (imported under the AR-100 name).
It uses a very AR-like bolt carrier and works with all AR mags. However, it uses a long stroke gas piston that is similar to an AK. They stopped importing these around 20 years ago, so they're kind of rare these days.
It's worth filling out the form and paying the tax stamp.
