So I ordered the mod.2 9mm, in bi-tone (cuz that's how it is) and am waiting for it arrive at my local gun store.

I also got some range time to put a couple hundred rounds through the XD and a CX4 storm. Even as a novice the groupings I got on the carbine impressed me a lot.

Let's see if I can become a gun fetishist without adopting the horrible NRA/anti-federal political crap.

Revised new year's resolution: Don't shoot myself in the dick.

Conceal carry at the 4-5 o'clock position then. No Dick to shoot. I highly recommend comptac mac holsters.

I hadn't thought much yet about it but I keep hearing the alien gear IWB holster is really good. I will check out what you mentioned as well.

You know the first thing I tried was my friend's glock 37 .40 and it made me worry I would be horrible. Everything would be lined up and accounted for but I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. When I rented the 9mm I'm buying it was a totally different experience.

Alien Gear is supposedly legit but I wanted my holster quicker and comptac guaranties 7 business days to ship and it took only 4. I want to do the alien gear double holster deal but they don't have a lot of my guns.

Looking at a wheel gun and came across the Ruger LCR 9mm, not too sure about having a auto cartridge in a wheel gun but it keeps things simple for me having only 9mm rather than stocking 9mm and .38 special.

Either that or I can pick up a Kahr PM9, I am limited in selection due to used overpriced off roster guns (California).

Very cool!

It's easy to enjoy shooting and still think that the NRA and their supporters are a bunch of fuckbags - they represent the gun makers, not the shooters, and have for some time now.

I kinda want a pistol caliber carbine, but the Scorpion EVO is my next gun for sure.

Also, keep the muzzle away from your genitals.

Well I've done a few IPSC matches after doing the holster accreditation a while back and love it - so much better than static target shooting. I do have to relearn some trigger control though - the different environment and faster shooting had me snatching at the trigger.

Also, I'm fully reloading my own ammo. At 9mm, it probably doesn't make much difference in the US, but here I'm saving at least 50c a round and I'm putting together the loads I want. My gear should pay for itself in 2000 rounds (1400 to go). Also, I just like the process.

Seeing some of the guys shoot major has me interested in a higher powered pistol though, mostly because the lead hits the steel so much harder and I like a challenge. Due to calibre restrictions, 357 sig is pretty much the hottest round I can shoot IPSC in this state at the moment, so I might go down that route in Standard division. I've tried to find a 357 sig barrel for a PPQ, but I don't think they exist just yet.

Uncle brought his .357 Colt Python over last weekend and shot a few rounds through it. What a beauty.

I want one, but they run 2500-3000 grand. That's SCAR 17 money, Colt would make a killing of they brought back the snake family revolvers.

The Tavor allows me to cheat during weak side shooting. I can comfortably keep my hands in the same position as my strong side.

Guys I'm itching for another gun....

I'm quickly becoming an HK fanboy.

My current collection

9MM
Walther PPQ M2 5 Inch
CZ-75 SP-01 Tactical
FNS 9C (My CCW)

.40
HK P30L NS V1
Baby Desert Eagle II (Steel Frame)
Springfield XDM 5.2:5

.45
HK Mark 23
Springfield TRP 1911
FNX 45 Tactical

Rifles/Shotgun
Colt LE6940MPFDE
Tavor
SCAR 17s
Mossberg 590A1 Tactical Tri-rail

I'm thinking either an HK USP 9 (not sure if I want the regular, tactical, or elite) or a HK 45 probably HK 45T

Whatchu guys think?

You can't go wrong with either. I love my 45C and have shot multiple UPS's and love those too. I would also suggest the VP9, its easily the best striker fired pistol I have used.

The VP9 is way too similar to the PPQ M2 for me to even consider it. Now if they make a VP45 I'd be game.

Pietta is making a Python clone based on the original. Parts are said to interchange. Should retail under a grand. I'm interested to say the least.

Just bought 2 panels of wall control for my "secret" closet gun storage.

Now I just gotta channel the interior decorator in me to find the best placement of my rifles, magazines, and accessories.

Otherwise hoping to save up cash to build an AK sometime early next year.

Buy a mark23 and give me your old one. I need something I can use as a club when I run out of bullets.

Sorry bro you'll have to get your own. My friend came to the range with me for the first time Sunday and shot it. He was like "I know what I'm buying next". I don't think he has a clue how much it costs.

Finally got to do another range trip last weekend. Spent about five hours just plinking away at 100 yds with the cheapo AR, chatting with the range neighbors and enjoying not working. I wanted to spend some time on the handgun range too, but it was full up all day. C'est la vie.

Still looking for a Scorpion EVO, but it's not like I'm in a hurry.

Well that would satisfy my desires to get a 1911 and get into 357 magnums. It does look fun as hell, but 7+1 wouldn't be competitive. Saying that, I could shoot some matches with it for fun, so I could see myself owning one some day.
Point 1: in pistol IPSC the skill gulf between shooters is so vast that results-wise, equipment almost doesn't matter until you are doing very well. So if you want to own a single-stack 1911 and enter Standard competitions for practice, I say go for it, buy some extra magazines and holsters and don't worry about "competetive". You aren't really competing with anyone except yourself for a long time after getting into the sport.

Point 2: the IPSC Classic division exists specifically to provide an arena where single-stack 1911s are viable, so whenever that division is available you can enter it instead. See http://www.ipsc.org/rules/divlistP.php

Couldn't pass up a HK VP40 (I'll have pictures later).

Went on Armslist. Guy bought a VP40 for his duty pistol. Unfortunately his job wouldn't let him use it. Bought less than a month ago with 40 rounds down range. 2 Extra Magazine, 60 Hornady Critical Defense, and a IWB Holster.

He was asking for $640. For shits I said $500. A few days later he finally says yes. Damn thing is flawless.

Thats fucking awesome man. I would definitely pick one up if I already had other stuff in .40, but I'm not looking to add more calibers right now.

Soooooo how's GunGAF doing these days? Off topic sure is a treat to read....

Rented and fell in love with the M&P Shield 9mm last night, immediately after I finished shooting I went out and bought one. Came with a fantastic green laser attached. Cleaned it last night and can't wait to shoot it this weekend!

So... that proposed suppressor law. Any chance of it going anywhere? I'd like to get a suppressor at some point but the process has me sayin' "meh."

Sup, gungaf. I acquired a cool new rifle. It's a South Korean Daewoo K2 (imported under the AR-100 name).

It uses a very AR-like bolt carrier and works with all AR mags. However, it uses a long stroke gas piston that is similar to an AK. They stopped importing these around 20 years ago, so they're kind of rare these days.

Wow, very cool!

It's worth filling out the form and paying the tax stamp.

Eh, I'll look into it. Would be nice to know if that bill has any hope of passing though so I could save $200 and put that money toward a better gun. Don't have tons of disposable income to spend on this sort of thing like some of you guys do. :p

What's a good price for a used Sig 226, the one with the navy anchor on it? It looks to be in good condition. Local shop is selling it for $800.
