Going order a premodded GC (gave away my GC and all my games to a less fortunate family member over the holidays) and I was contemplating picking up these two imports.

Now they are both #3 in the series, is there any point getting the prequels?

Thanks

I own the 2nd Naruto game, and it was fun when I got it this past summer, but from what I hear, if you're just getting into the series, you might as well go with 3. It's supposed to have more or less everything from 1 and 2. Don't know anything about One Piece though.

Get Naruto 3. There's no point to getting 1 or 2 since each sequel just takes everything from the previous games and builds on it.

Avoid One Piece completely. That goes for the shitty "Treasure Battle" game as well. :P

Jarrod: I read that it was Treasure Battle coming Stateside, not One Piece Grand Battle 3.

One Piece Grand Battle 3 is really that bad?

Looks like a simple PowerStone knock off with a One Piece license, can't be that offensive.

Any other GC Japanese imports worth looking into?

What exactly is different in Drill Land from the other Mr. Driller games? Does it have adventure game aspects, or is it another version of the puzzler?

It's more like Smash Bros. (all 2D) with really shitty game play. Don't bother. Admittedly, I haven't played GB3, but I played the first two, hated them, and read that GB3 was exactly the same, just with better visuals. You have been warned. :)

Bandai announced Treasure Battle way back in early 2003 but nothing ever came of it. Recently though Grand Battle 3 was revealed on their site, likely because it's multiplatform.

That definitely makes more sense. Is the One Piece cartoon even that popular in the U.S. yet? If they're going to bring out one of the games here, why not bring out one of the Naruto titles as well?

Naruto 3 is pretty fun. It's made by the same developer as Bloody Roar, and the engine is very similar, although I prefer Naruto's setup. It's easy to pick up, not too hard to learn, and the characters all vary making for some interesting fights. 4 Player mode really shines, and if you're a fan of the anime it's even more enjoyable.

So Naruto is a go (great show btw just got done watching DVDs of the 1st 100eps) and no one likes One Piece. Well I have never been one to turn down a poor game involving a license I like so I'll get it any way :D

Now any other good GC imports? Mr. Driller is fun but I have it for the DC and going to get it for the DS, do I need the GC version?

Go for Naruto 3. Nothing like sending a shit load of Itachi clones after an opponent. If they manage to survive that and actually hit you they'll probably have a water clone explode in their face :D

Groove Adventure Rave: Fighting Live is another good fighting game based on an anime license. It plays very similar to Powerstone 1 with up to four players at the same time. It's all fighting, however; no objects to pick up and throw or anything like that.
