Anyone tried the Wireless Messenger for GBA?

Does this shit work?

Will the signal really go a fifth the range (about 3000 feet) as the advertisements said it would?

Does the battery really last a week on one charge?

Is this even relevant with the DS and Pictochat?

Man, I wish there was some way I could have my DS inform me that there are other Pictochatters in the area (Xbox Live pop-up style). I don't think that will ever happen though. :(

It was fun on launch day to leave it on and see who popped up in the chat room at work, though. :lol

Nah, it has nothing to do with the DS or PictoChat whatsoever.

But yeah, I leave my DS on just to see who pops up. Only one motherfucker so far. :(

Ja, but every DS comes with PictoChat, but this thing costs money... anyone have a link to it? I tried googling but came up empty.

As far as range is concerned, the GBA one is supposed to totally own the DS and PictoChat. It's advertised as 3 miles in vapor-free, open areas, but I figure a fifth of that might be more realistic -- and even less than that in non-open areas.

So, I'm just wondering what the range is in reality without the PR hype.

Haven't seen the communicator, but I saw the wireless link last night. It purports to work as the 1st party wireless unit really should have -- wirelessly replacing link cables in every game, not just the ones specifically supporting the adapter.

Cheap too -- I think it was only $9.99. [edit: errr, as it says in big bold numerals at the top of the webpage]

Can the Majesco Adapter double up as both a cable-less link cable and something that mimics the Nintendo WA?

It's ugly, but the functionality is pretty fucking awesome. Again, too bad Nintendo didn't do this through Pokemon (GRRR).

Why even bother getting this, it would take forever to type up messages with the d pad
