Have to wonder what the cost for renting that out would be. I'd imagine a lot more expensive than hotel ballrooms, could be a dealbreaker for going back, but if it's feasible it wouldn't be too surprising. Looks plenty big enough for an even bigger turnout next year.

True. I've heard as much, but he was never very prolific with it before. I guess he just wasn't into content creation back then, so no one really knew about him. Or he's slipped under my radar.

Makes sense. I'm not the biggest fan of his videos, but I do appreciate that he's been pretty dedicated to the Smash scene as of late.

First I heard of him was when M2K started to mention him. Every post-tournament interview, "I'm gonna be moving in with Sky, the League player, and I'm gonna be partnering with him to do a lot of streaming"

People aren't realizing how much it costs to put on a tournament even at a shitty Clarion and how much, much, drastically much more a convention center costs.

Additionally, the hotels around convention centers are usually more than the hotels tourneys usually use and FGC people, even Smashers, aren't exactly top tier when it comes to income on average.

it's a long story but it got condemned by the fire marshal

skim through this thread it's quite the rollercoaster

Massive structural integrity issues and a confirmed cave-in on two occasions forced fire marshalls called into the scene to evacuate the premises. Hotel staff on upper levels getting escorted out into police custody for promises of being able to handle the event despite their building being unqualified for as much.
