There is a spectator fee, yes. I think it's around $30 for all three days and one day passes are like $20?... Something like that.

Venue movement day of event all that equipment has to get moved and set upped again. A slight set back. Hopefully they stick with it and the tournament continues unphased.

Like, it's good they got the venue but... they need to be FAST to get everyone there and the setups AND set up all the stuff again as well as the streams. They might not be ready to stream or run things until close to around 5 or 6, maybe even 7.

There isn't any doubt at this point that pools are going to basically run all night and probably into the morning if they want to remain anywhere close to their schedule and be done Sunday.

Reading the rest of his tweets indicate that someone on APEX staff (whoever it was in charge of picking the location) did not think this through at all -- like, they didn't expect to get 1k entrants in a single game.
It's discouraging but I think the impossible will happen and this tournament will go on regardless of Juggleguy's pessimism.

He's right, but it doesn't make me not want to #believe in these guys so much right now. Fuck man, I am consistently awestruck by the Smash community's ability to pull together and make miracles. I'll never put anything past them.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see all doubles events and Brawl cut. Maybe 64 too depending on player overlap between that and Melee/Smash 4.
If the community is willing to make it work, it can work.
Maybe Apex can be salvaged yet and still come out as something of a miracle story for the SSB community.

So much for schedules, there's enough heads tho, they should be able to make it work. I get out of work at 7 hopefully they are relocated and set up by then altho that would be beneficial for me as I won't have had missed anything. But I rather them start as normal hopefully before that. I have friends that went to this for the Guilty Gear Xrd hopefully they are updated and can make the additional drive.

Guess they're going to somehow power through it tomorrow at the new venue. Seems like a waste to not take advantage of the venue today. :/

As a former TO for fighting games, this is especially troublesome. Why did they continue to work with the venue when the basic functioning needs of the building weren't met?

I was kind of thinking the same thing earlier. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one that decided to move to what was presumably a cheaper venue.
