Salty suite for Melee was scheduled to start tomorrow night at 9 PM but that will likely change with the new schedule (whenever it gets released...)

Ah okay so they haven't finish rescheduling. Here hoping everyone has a smashing fun time with all this drama at this year Apex.

Remember, Apex is doing a 2v2 tournament as well. 2 teams from Apex will get flown out to Chokaigi to face the japanese winners of Tokaigi.

smash wii u seems like it should migrate to a team game... nothing wrong with that it just seems like it would be a better fit.

also how is the japan smash scene? I hardly hear about it

It thrives and is pretty healthy. They get about 100+ at most of their tournaments for Smash 4. Melee... is actually smaller over there. Brawl never actually fell off in Japan like it did in America -- Melee didn't have the same resurgence we have here in America so Smash 4 is bigger in Japan than Melee in Japan is.

They had some really good Brawl players who have transitioned over to Smash 4. I won't be surprised if quite a few of them are in the Top 8. Melee has some heavy hitters from Japan, too, like aMSa who mains Yoshi and wrecks everyone. Unfortunately, probably the best player in Melee from Japan couldn't make it out (Flash) even though he won an Apex qualifier iirc.

huh? Flash didn't even win the Apex qualifier, and the guy who did made it out here lol
 
So when is the special announcement supposed to be? And when is the stream starting tonight? Or is it not starting until tomorrow? :x

This is all so confusing...

No tournament streams tonight, those start tomorrow morning officially. All we have tonight is the Smash 4 Salty Suite (which is late because Max is stuck checking into the double tree hotel). If you're not interested in that then you should probably go to bed at whatever time you usually do.

Announcements aren't going to happen until the finals day.
