god, I love this game, but I have a lot to learn.,these guys are freaks

Who's the commentators for this match? I just tuned in SM4SH but they have some good energetic bursts, not usually a fan of the esports side of the commentary spectrum but they got some bursts of info and better than that the transitions between both of them are damn smooth.

What eSports do you usually watch? I'm enjoying this too, most fighting game commentary I've heard before seems to just be a lot of yelling.

The quality today has reminded me a lot of tastosis from sc2

his mario was way better.

damn my 2 mains link and falcon seem to be getting wrecked this whole tournament.

That Diddy was more fun to watch than any other Diddy I saw earlier, including M2K. Mixing up moves other than just spam grabs and up airs lol.

Hopefully people start to learn the Diddy matchup better over this upcoming year as, while Diddy has some objectively great moves/combo setups, I feel like a lot of his current domination is just people getting completely flustered by the moves and allowing themselves to fall into almost every combo attempt. Especially a ton of people just let themselves get stringed with 3 up airs when they are down thrown instead of learning the proper DI. Also, Diddy has such a gimpable recovery but it seems like a bunch of people just let him jet up without any contest at all.

I'm admittedly not very good at the game, but Diddy seems like he has a few glaring weaknesses that I'm sure people will learn to adapt to as there are more tournaments and Diddy won't be such an undisputed force in Sm4sh. We've already seen a lot of good people playing other characters contesting Diddy, and a lot of them just seem a few more techniques away from making it a more even contest.

From Team S00pky stream

Sfz95: Is this the eSports? Or is this just fantasy? Caught in a Smash 4, no escape from the Melee. Turn on your Wii U. Pick Diddy Kong and seeeeeee. I'm just a monkey, I need no nerf baby. Because I'm easy come, easy go, Easy grab, then down-throw. Any way I Hoo-Hah, doesn't really matter to me. TO ME. Mama, just killed a main. Grabbed him by his head, did the Hoo-Hah now he's dead. Mama, meta had just begun. But now I've gone and thrown it all away. Mama, hoo-hah. I don't want a nerf. I sometimes wish i'd never been buffed at all.

Look at how HUGE the venue is goddamn: https://twitter.com/Smashboards/status/561591985375838208

Lol the guy with the red sweater on the Smash 4 stream. Standing with his back to the camera the whole time between sets so we can see the company info on the back of his sweater.

Wow, this is a very technical Shiek. Never seen gsmVoid play before but from the little I've seen so far he seems like has very solid execution of his character.

So have been watching the stream for a while now and have no idea how this works. Is it a points system or a knockout tournament?

Knockout. Best of 3, double elim (so if you are in winner's side and lose you get knocked to the loser's bracket and if you lose that you're out of the tournament).

I think it's a blessing in disguise that they had to move to the convention center. Now they've established they can run it in a huge space. There's a ton of people there, but there's also a ton of more room for expansion. I'm sure they'll try to get into a big convention center again from the get go next year, especially with how quickly Smash seems to have picked up its growth again.
