Some of the writing/drawing apps are designed to allow resting a hand on the surface while using the pen to draw elsewhere.Pazuzu9 said:I made my own capacitive pen to try it out, and I didn't get on with it. I rest the side of my hand on the surface when sketching, and this mucks everything up. To make it feel anything like my Wacom tablet, I need to wear a glove to guard against unwanted multitouch. And that's just not practical for me. I'm sure the Bamboo stylus is nicer to hold than my homemade effort, but it'll still suffer the same issue.

I'm guessing no.
Sketchbook Pro doesn't have it... and that's definitely the one I'd like to use.Charred Greyface said:Some of the writing/drawing apps are designed to allow resting a hand on the surface while using the pen to draw elsewhere.

Yeah, white looks fine to me. Gives it more of an old-school Apple vibe.Cromat said:White used to be the default Apple color but somehow it switched up.
I'd go with white because there are less of these.
Just don't bother with the Smart Cover or its clones, it's really unnecessary imo (especially if you are going for the screen "cleaning" feature which is a total crock).Tabris said:Is there a case like the Smart Cover that cleans the screen without the folds (don't care about stands, I got an iPad2 dock) as I keep on reading that the Smart Cover leaves 3 lines where the folds are that don't get cleaned.
Don't listen to Tobor, the lines thing is ever present and wiping with the smart cover itself isn't that great.Tabris said:I just got 2 different stories. My iPad is a fingerprint magnet and I don't want to have a lint cloth with me. If a cover can accomplish what a lint cloth will, then that's exactly what I want.

Nah, not having to deal with a lockscreen or manually sleeping your device is nice.Teddman said:Just don't bother with the Smart Cover or its clones, it's really unnecessary imo (especially if you are going for the screen "cleaning" feature which is a total crock).

Of course. Apple likes money.Stat Flow said:Anyone think there'll be a new smart cover with the iPad 3 next spring?
I think they may rejigger iPad releases, too. Maybe not this year, but maybe it'll release during WWDC next year. If you look at sales charts, the iPhones used to always sell the lowest in the 3 months before June/July. If the iPad follows that trend and keeps releasing in the Spring, that means people buy the fewest in the holiday quarter, which is when Apple would want the most sales.bathala said:if iPhone is fall.
so yes iPad next year spring.
Seeing as the smart covers are selling better than the iPod socks ever did... lol... iPod socks... Speaking of Apple flops, I watched Kick Ass last night and the bad guy had an iPod HiFi on his desk.NYR said:Of course. Apple likes money.
The hifi's still fetch a decent price on eBay.Jasoco said:Seeing as the smart covers are selling better than the iPod socks ever did... lol... iPod socks... Speaking of Apple flops, I watched Kick Ass last night and the bad guy had an iPod HiFi on his desk.

brotkasten said:I hope apple will offer the iPad 3 32GB for $499. I never wanted to believe it, but 16 GB isn't enough if you install many apps and games. I deleted few games and have about 2 GB free now. I have not one single music or video file stored on it (I stream everything over wifi), it's crazy.
I would be totally down with this because it would mean I could get 128GB at the high end. Yes, I could use it!brotkasten said:I hope apple will offer the iPad 3 32GB for $499. Get it from the Apple Store and try it out for up to 14 days. I tested like 3 colors this way.Gloomfire said:Amazon reviews say the smart covers fall off all the time - true/false?
Mine hasn't fallen off once. Those people must be swinging their iPads from the smart cover or something.Gloomfire said:Amazon reviews say the smart covers fall off all the time - true/false?

iPhone 4 can share it's 3G connection with the iPad--you just need the iPad WiFi model. Your carrier needs to support tethering though (if there is a "personal hotspot" somewhere in the settings, that should mean your carrier supports it). In the US, carriers charge an extra fee to allow this, but I think most other places it is free.BeeDog said:Sorry for bumping this topic again, but I have a question since I'm planning on getting an iPad 2 soon.
I already have an iPhone 4 using a 3G subscription, but I was planning on buying the Wifi-only model of iPad 2. My question is:
1) Is it possible to make the iPhone 4 share its Internet connection with the iPad 2?
2) If yes, does it work on the Wifi-only model too, or do I have to get the Wifi + 3G model for that?
3) Is anything else required to enable Internet access if sharing's an option?
Thanks in advance, and sorry if these questions are stupid.

To be safe, I would double check with the carrier to make sure it is free. Just so I'm not to blame for extra chargesBeeDog said:Thanks for the fast answer. Set the language to English on my phone and found the "Personal Hotspot" setting, so I guess I'm good to go.![]()

There's going to be lots of one-star reviews from confused customers. All of these apps are free, right?Heres the old version of the Hulu Plus subscription app for the iPad:
