Exactly my thoughts, although the numbers would still be favourable even with the same resolution.

That's too bad. Thanks.Tobor said:No, the iPad 2 has magnets installed in the side and face that allow the smart covers to work. Also, the hinge is designed to fit the new body design.
My iPad has two scratches too. Straight vertical scratches, one on one side & another on the other side. I doubt it's a problem on my end since I've only set it on a couch. I'm gonna to bring it up to the Apple Store later today.Sh0k said:Don't know how but my shinny new iPad has two small scratches in the back already and that's laying the iPad on my table on top of a micro fiber all the time and using it while laying on my bed.

For just downloading a few apps you can sign out in the App Store app and sign in with your (or whoever's account) to download. I think you only have to authorize iTunes if they want to back up those apps. For mass app exchange you can do Home Sharing and copy stuff over the network, or maybe just copy the ipa files (I think either way involves authorizing iTunes).X-Frame said:What's the easiest way to share apps between family members?
Just authorize their main iTunes computer and then they can download the app I already have?
It gives me portable modern Cave shooters for a few bucks, and it seems to be their main portable target system, I can't complain with that.MikeE21286 said:ehh, iPad will never really be a "gaming machine" to me. It has nice games, but not as good (IMO) as dedicated gaming platforms (or devices that are first and foremost gaming platforms)

How is this shit still tolerated? This isn't even the gaming forum.Ulairi said:Have fun with your bite size games with little substance and depth. Handheld games > iOS games.

He's clearly being a douche, but does it make me a douche if I kind of agree with him? i mean, i love the quick nature of the app store games, but there is just no way I can ever see myself getting hyped for an iOS game. It's just an extremely casual gameplayer, which is fine by me, but the notion that it's better than a dedicated handheld is ridiculous.bob page said:How is this shit still tolerated? I dunno, I was pretty hyped for Infinity Blade. Besides, I find that iOS gaming is more suitable for my lifestyle now that I'm older- I definitely play portable games on iOS more than on my PSP and DS.MidnightCowboy said:He's clearly being a douche, but does it make me a douche if I kind of agree with him? i mean, i love the quick nature of the app store games, but there is just no way I can ever see myself getting hyped for an iOS game. No.MidnightCowboy said:I'm not huge into the Apple scene, but if the 3DS is successful, which I'm certain it will be, do you guys think Apple will hop on the 3D train?
Nostalgic Nightmare said:Well I cant find this thing anywhere at a brick and mortar so I pre-ordered at Best buy as the Apple store said 3-4 weeks plus 5 days for delivery. BB said hopefully they will have some next week. Went with the black 16gb Wifi Model. I wish the screen was a bit higher resolution but after playing with the Xoom and the Ipad2 I think I made the right choice for now.
Congrats to everyone playing with theirs now though.
I can't think of one worthwhile reason why they would ever want to.MidnightCowboy said:I'm not huge into the Apple scene, but if the 3DS is successful, which I'm certain it will be, do you guys think Apple will hop on the 3D train?

Yeah, I suppose because I'm only in college I don't have a full grasp of how many people use the iPad for work. I'm sure it's huge for businesses and such.LyleLanley said:It looks like it'll work well on a gaming machine, but I doubt 3D would ever be anything but a hindrance to web browsing, email and work related apps.
Ulairi said:Did you the post I was replying to? Whitta was trolling. I replied in kind. My broader point stands. In the aggergrate, a dedicated handheld offers more and deeper experiences than iOS. I'd love any examples to the contrary. Game Dev Story doesn't cut it for me. I'm not trolling the iPad or iPhone. I'm trolling the idea that they make portable games systems no longer needed.
krypt0nian said:No but for many it's just as good.

The economics? I'm convinced you're throwing in big words just to make yourself sound less ridiculous. World of Goo sales on the iPad blew away those of the Wii. Infinity Blade sold incredibly well, and was build from the ground up for iOS. And what about Dead Space? The list goes on and on.Ulairi said:It depends what you want from the device. For the price most iOS games are fine, some are great value propositions. I don't think anyone will seriously say that the breadth and depth that a defecated handheld offer can be found on iOS. Even if we look at PSP/DS ports thatbrun great on iOS, the economics require a traditional release first.
LyleLanley said:What about GTA? or Phoenix Wright? They are quite literally the exact same game as their DS counterparts.

Nope.MidnightCowboy said:I'm not huge into the Apple scene, but if the 3DS is successful, which I'm certain it will be, do you guys think Apple will hop on the 3D train?
Ulairi said:Show me the content. Again, I don't care what device I play it on as long as the content is good. The economics haven't proven you to be correct but that can change.
So what about "simple" games on the DS? Phoenix Wright? Brain Training? Both have games that you can define as simple or deep, but you're making excessive generalizations.Ulairi said:No. Infinity Blade is not a deep experience. It looks good and is fun but it's a simplistic experience.

LyleLanley said:What about Plants Vs. Zombies? Originally a PC/Mac game that came to iOS, sold a ton and then eventually got ported to the DS?
LyleLanley said:I've found that I'm enjoying simpler experiences on the go, I may be unusual in that sense, I like playing my deep intense games on my xbox/PS3. Not to say that there isn't a place for deep games on the go as is the case with GTA.
