Yeah, rumor is that iPad 2 is going to stay at $400. That's really going to hurt iPad 2 resale value for sure. You've got 2 weeks.

Thankfully a family member is going to take mine off my hands so I'm not in a huge hurry. I was a week or so ago when I wasn't sure who would buy mine (less of a resale market for the 64GB version). That said, I'll wait until the end of February and mail it off. If the iPad 3 goes on sale around March 16th, that will only be about a 3 weeks without one. I can handle that.
I can see how it's actually cheaper if you upgrade yearly since you can sell it right before the new one comes out with only $50-$100 loss.
Just sold mine two days ago, engraved and with the smart cover, for $400. I kinda felt bad, but I really wanted to sell it before people got smart.

For some reason, it can't connect. It gives me an unknown error whenever I try to download anything. I got the app (Gyakuten Saiban 123 HD) onto it from my computer, though IAP requires use of the store. I bought the IAP on my phone (it's a universal app,) but I want to use it on the iPad. Do I maybe have to log out of iMessage, iCloud and all that first?

If it's just that one application that is giving you trouble, it may be an issue on Gyakuten Saiban 123HD's end. I know I had a hell of a time getting the IAP to register, but I chalked it up to the server issues with the iTunes store (and then the whole having to download a new pack several times throughout each chapter really soured me on the whole thing).
I've occasionally run into being unable to connect to the App Store app (both the US and JP stores) on devices before, but the issue always seemed to sort itself out after a few minutes to an hour. I don't have my iPad at work but was able to connect to the Japanese store on my iPhone just now.
Yeah I suspect the launch hype to follow the iPhone's pattern where it just gets crazier every year. I stood in line for the first iPad launch (well sub launch, 3G model) but hell with doing that again. Ordered the 2 at midnight and got it a few days after launch and will probably do the same again. There was a little scare cause the initial delivery estimate said like 2-5 weeks but it came quickly.
Was it an iMac or Mac Pro? That's weird since I've heard about mailing computers in for repairs, and sending out advance replacements if you want, but that may just be for smaller devices.
I don't think I could sell early (cause my only other portable device is my iPhone) but I'm assuming if they do keep the 2 around at $400 or whatever, it'll be the 16GB model. I figure I could at least get a little premium since I have a 32GB and hope people don't care too much about the warranty ending soon.
you might get a little extra but dont expect too much. Granted, I dont have a lot of data to back this up but when I sold my iPhone 4 in the summer, I got a lot of people referring to the new 8 GB models price despite the fact that mine was 16 GB (and factory unlocked, and had around 8 months of applecare left on it)
I tend to notice that asking prices of the higher GB models shrink much more than the base model. maybe youll get an extra 40 to 60 bucks?

When I was in Shinjuku this past weekend, it seemed like most of the big electronics stores were focused on getting rid of their iPad 2 stock. With the announcement of iPad 3's potential date, I'm not surprised as all.
Anyways, gonna reserve one from Apple's site as soon as I can. Waiting to see storage options before I bite the bullet. Hopefully they all receive a nice storage bump (please please please?).

So what are we estimating the cost for the 64GB 3G model will be? Same? I have to start calculating the import costs, things are usually 50-100 bucks more here due to them being imported and all that.
Definitely going to get 64GB, not making the same mistake with my 16GB iPad 1... And i'll be using my 3G data plan, i'll just take out the sim from the USB dongle and put it in the iPad whenever I go out.
Unless it's mini-SIM... then i'll need an adaptor or something for it to fit in my USB dongle.

I would have kept the smart cover, supposedly it will work with iPad 3.

Yeah, ComicGlass is still the best. It has filters, zoom lock, loads the fastest, and has the best overall reading experience. Zeal's reading controls haven't been updated in a year and a half, it still doesn't even do auto two-page view when the iPad is rotated to landscape. Bookman is good but doesn't sharpen when custom zoomed, so the image is all blurry.
For a free reader, CloudReaders is great.
As for getting files into the readers, I recommend an app like FileBrowser or FilesConnect. Just use those to browse your computer or NAS and then open the comics in your reader of choice.
I've been using ComicReader Mobi on my Android devices for the past few months and the most recent release is finally solid and bug free as far as I can tell. It also introduced a nifty new feature for learning languages while reading. Have you checked it out? It continues to provide the best Manga reading experience imo but then I haven't tried the other apps recently...

UI is not just how it looks, it's how it works and feels. The CRM organization options are good enough (folders and a desktop syncing app). That screenshot is outdated by the way, the most recent release looks different. But those controls aren't what you're looking at when reading. It's not a twitter app. You can read for over an hour in both CRM and CZ without encountering the 'ugly' or 'beautiful' UI—which is the whole point, you want to be immersed in the content and not be distracted by buttons.
Fair enough, I still think CZ is wonderful and a great reader and collection organizer, it just gets bad slack since it's the dominant comic reader out there, and we all love to hate what's big and bad, etc.
If we're talking iPad though, "myComic" is a pretty awesome option.

Nope, i'm still waiting for this.
Check out the video there, it's awesome, and it's the only stylus I can really see myself using tbh.

I don't like the dongle, it seems laggy in the video and it's not an universal solution, so it's useless for OneNote.
Other than that it's pretty cool and probably a joy on the iPad 3.

Maybe you could actually articulate why CZ is better than Glass without resorting to "haters gonna hate". Not why you think CZ is good, why CZ is better. Like, explain in detail why the organization methods in CZ are better than in Glass.
If you go to the apps section of your iPad in iTunes, you can drag and drop files into ComicZeal to bulk add.

I love CZ, even though the price is hefty, I really use it a lot so I can't complain. The thing I like the most about it is the interface including the new "tab" on the right that allows you to drag and drop multiple comics as well as put in dividers in specific folders. Really useful for organizing comics that have different volumes under the same title (ex: you can have an Avengers folder and have it divided so all of new avengers/mighty avengers are separated)
I also really love that you can organize into folders that look like longboxes almost.
overall, many people will not think it's worth the money, but IMO it's the slickest comic viewer app out there
BUT, I haven't used ComicGlass, but by the looks of it on the app store, it doesn't have the same features as CZ. Not to mention it's quite new, so I personally am always wary of paying for apps that don't have a lot of reviews yet.
It's been one delay after another though. I'm edging closer to ordering the ByZero pen instead. I hope to get one or the other before the iPad 3 launch.
All the more reason to abandon OneNote. Shitty mobile apps don't even open all the OneNote desktop files properly. I wasted my time investing in that ecosystem. Never again... except perhaps for a 5" W8 tablet with pen...
Anyway, 1 good app with a pen is better than many shitty apps with a universal stylus.
Adonit should be releasing a new pen for the Jot series including a digitizer soon. It'll have bluetooth, rechargeable batteries and pressure sensitivity! too which would make it better than this iPen.

Heh. Well I already did a lot of that, but to me more specific, I think it is better in organization methods and use of that intuitive slider to categorize series or subfolders however you need to.
I just don't see being able to reach that same level of organization using another app, that looks as good at the same time. Just me though, everyone has their own thing.
And I meant iPad-only, since I think myComic is only on iPad.
ComicGlass isn't new, it's been out for like a year and a half. It's the best reading experience with the most options by far. (Not counting CRM, never used that since it's been booted from App Store.)
As far as in-app organization goes, it's really a waste of time, IMO. Your comic collection is likely to outgrow the space limits of an iPad if it hasn't already. You're better off keeping them in folders on a NAS or computer and wirelessly using the iPad as a pure viewer.

You read comics on your phone in portrait mode? It's so much easier to read in landscape and just scroll down. That zoom box seems neat, but I couldn't see myself seriously using something like that, tbh.
PS. I can't wait to read comics on iPad 3's retina display.
