Apple iPad 2 |OT|

Assuming prices hold up by the time I get my iPad on Monday, I'll basically be paying $1200+ for this damn thing taking into consideration the opportunity cost of eBay profits. And yet I think I'm going to just keep it and use. WTF is wrong with me.
 
So, I'm heading up to the states in May, and I'm wondering: Would I be able to use my ipad at all on the trip or would I have to wait until I fly back to utilize it? My apps and music (and my year old iPhone backup) are on a desktop, and I don't want to buy a tablet to have to just carry it around as dead weight until I get back.
 
So ATT has dropped the original iPad another $100 making it a discount of $200 off the normal price. I'm not sure if the iPad2 is really worth waiting and paying extra for with this deep of a discount.

The main selling point on the second one is the HDMI out. Has anyone used it on the first iPad for netflix?

You just have to have access to a computer with iTunes to activate it. Or ask for it (activation) on the store where you buy it.

And then access the internet on the iPad at least to get some apps.

They'll activate it for you in store if you buy at an Apple store, not sure about anywhere else. Put any files you need from your desktop in a Dropbox folder and you can access them on the iPad when you get it. You can re-download any apps you had for the iPhone.
 
Just installed iCarbons skin. The installation is fairly easy.

People don't really think like this do they?

Please tell me they don't.
 
Did anyone exchange their ipad because of the bleeding issue? It doesn't really bother me but if the process isn't a huge hassle, I'll do it
 
Hmm...decisions.... Earlier the Apple store near me said they would be selling the iPad tomorrow morning. I called them later tonight and was told that nobody knew if they were getting any shipments in or if they'd sell any tomorrow. Do I wake up early and give it another shot, or do I pass?

I'm 99.9% sure they'd do it even if you bought it elsewhere. At least I would have had the iPad been out when I was working there.

Would they even have stock right now though? And I'd feel like a huge jackass if the new one had it worse. Mine is quite minimal and only noticable on dark borders

If you can live with it, I say wait. If the ones are experiencing issues, why trade in a new one for basically the same thing?

I exchanged mine 2 days ago. New sealed replacement, but still have small leakage. make sure to make an appointment at GB because the greeter told me they r out of stock, but the gb checked n got one in stock
 
Yeah, I'll exchange mine months from now when the problem is more likely fixed.

You'd barely make anything on eBay. At most, $120 premium before fees.

Will BestBuy exchange stuff after 14 days though? Or can I do this via Apple?
 
woot, got my $304 from Ebay instant sales and now on the hunt for the ipad2. Do any covers cover the entire back or the edges always going to be exposed?
 
at least it photos in red, but it's actually pink. My plan is to get a smart cover in the color preference of every member of the family until I can get an iPad for everyone. My daughter won the first draw.

I didn't want to be the one to say it but yes, they look bad.

I want something thing for the back, but nothing that sticks to the back like those skins.

For now I have no problem either laying on it's face (smart cover) or laying the back on a magazine.

No idea. Downloaded fine for me. Debating about downloading the iPhone one as well. It is $1 right now fir iPhone. What is the normal price?

I don't think the sale actually starts til 12am West Coast time so that's probably why. I'm getting the same error. The sale is for 48 hours, so there's no rush.

I will be checking my receipt once it shows. It said $2 when I downloaded. It better not have charged me fullprice dammit.

Shortly after i posted that i updated iTunes and it worked :P

Hopefully I didn't get charged multiple times. They're pretty fast with the receipts either way so I'll find out.

I am just thinking of something to play at random times, like in bed. Which I am doing now posting from my iPhone. Honestly I have played more angry birds on my phone in bed than my iPad elsewhere
