I have it, it's awesome even if I suck at it. DJ Hero made it look so easy...jon bones said:$15 gift card to itunes... might have to pick up that djay app now
Yes I do, but when a $5 ipad sleeve can handle being taken out of a messenger bag better then an $80 piece of leather, there is a problem.Burger said:Sounds like you need a cover for your cover. You do understand the purpose of a cover right?

No idea. People in the iOS gaming thread might know better. The sale hasn't hit the US yet, but a bunch of Euro stores just had all their EA games dropped to the equivalent of 99¢.commish said:Any idea how it controls? God I loved NBA Jam back in the day. There is a free lite version.commish said:Any idea how it controls? God I loved NBA Jam back in the day. But I loathe virtual controls on anything action...
No idea how it controls on the iPad, but I loved the iPhone/Touch version, though it took a little getting used to. This is coming from a guy who hates virtual controls. Turns out I hated the regular controls on 360 but liked the touch controls. Go figure.commish said:Any idea how it controls? God I loved NBA Jam back in the day. anyone has any experience with this stylus? looks like it's a thin tip pen
yes, exactly, it FEELS more like a real pen. all the stylus(styli?) i've used are like crayons and it's difficult to be accurate with them.Crazymoogle said:Maybe that's enough to get over the cognitive gap though...

I've bought that before (2 years ago?). It's not bad but the stylus is a bit unwieldy. Dagi used to make a smaller version which I liked a lot more but they stopped production sometime last year :/Twilight Princess said:http://www.dagi.com.tw/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=p503&Rcg=2

I actually did my avatar on sketchbook pro with a griffin stylus.Crazymoogle said:Yeah, drives me crazy. Sketchbook Pro feels completely useless unless you like finger painting or doing huge chalk drawings.

I've been using it today and generally like it. The main thing that's been bugging me is that on Google search pages from the search bar (which sometimes have some redirect code) it just doesn't work to open the links for whatever reason. That and I can't get into my school site with it cause it won't load past the expired/invalid security certificate (...which the school should take care of really), whereas Safari and iCab let you ignore the warning and continue.japtor said:Another decent browser just came out, Sleipnir. Technically it came out for iPhone a few months ago but just got an iPad update now it looks like.
Seems kinda nice once you get used to it, at least as a pretty basic browser. You open tabs in the background by holding down on links, it's a quicker process if you do this a lot, but the lack of menu is obnoxious if you just want to copy a link (although you do get a menu when you tap on the address bar). On the iPad at least, you can also swipe left and right (when zoomed out) to switch tabs, and has a gesture to close tabs, all that seems to work nicely.
Again it's pretty basic, but overall feels pretty polished. It could be pretty nice if you want a nicer Safari alternative for tabbed browsing but not that much more (like all the extra stuff iCab has).
Edit: video of it in action does it more justice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmNbZSo3Cy4
And it looks pretty much like the Boxwave and others, the usual nubby ball tip.neojubei said:WACOM is coming out with their own stylus for the ipad.
Where did you get your subscription? Online on its website it is $2+ per issue.commish said:You can get a subscription (print and ipad) for a dollar a week. Well worth it, though I kinda like the Businessweek layout a little more, I think.

That's up to app developers. Learning Chinese is great with Pleco.Bernbaum said:So I'm using my iPad to assist in my plans to learn French.
You know what would be great? If in the Kindle app, highlighted words could be translated on-the-spot.
That would be the most amazing use of the technology for me, and so simple and practical.
As opposed to sitting down with a book and flicking through a French-English dictionary, one can simply read the text in its original language, and highlight words on the fly that they don't know.
In fact, support for learning languages is all round pretty shit on the iPad - such a missed opportunity for the technology.
my girlfriend LOVES scrabble. Also, monopoly.suffah said:Any recs for games I can play with the GF? On one iPad.
Thanks for the heads up! I saw your post earlier and searched for it on my iPad. The search results said $0.99 but when I clicked on the game and went to it's page, the buy button said $9.99. So I went back to the search results page and purchased it by clicking the button that had 99 cents on it. They better not charge me the ten bucks for it or else I'm gonna raise a ruckus!Deadly Cyclone said:Dead Space iPad is 99 cents today, was going to buy it for when my iPad 2 gets here next week but I cannot download itunes. NYR said:All right. Going to try to exchange my red smart cover at the Apple Store. The damage of every day use has made it looked like I have rubbed it against sand paper. I take care of my stuff so well, no rough use at all. The leather is just too soft and susceptible to damage, especially at the price.
If you find anything for French make sure to mention it as I'd be interested as well.Bernbaum said:So I'm using my iPad to assist in my plans to learn French.

Is that the issue where you can't just get the keyboard focus on anything? If so I've seen that before, I think the workaround is to force the focus on something else, like the address/search fields or something in a new tab.Deadly Cyclone said:Also another question, some forums and sites you cannot get the keyboard to pop up so you can type in reply boxes, is there any way around this?
