The line is wrapped around the building so I can't see but if yesterday is any indication.....couple hundred.Tobor said:How many people are in line total?
I wonder if international orders will be delayed again.Topher said:The line is wrapped around the building so I can't see but if yesterday is any indication.....couple hundred.

One angle is good as a movie stand. The other angle is great when using the landscape keyboard. But I find neither of those angles ideal when using a bluetooth keyboard. I've signed up for the PadPivot Kickstarter instead.Tobor said:The smart cover as a movie stand is perfect. I think I can retire the picture frame stand I used for iPad 1.
Wow. 200 hundred more the day after launch. Congrats on getting one today!Topher said:The line is wrapped around the building so I can't see but if yesterday is any indication.....couple hundred.
They're not marketing it as a still camera for a reason.Cloudy said:G]http://oi52.tinypic.com/2qvfma1.jpg[/IMG]

That's the best pic I could take. Tried to take one of the dog running around and it's even granier. This is pretty indefensible IMO

The worlds most advanced mobile operating system keeps getting better. Download the free iOS 4.3 Software Update and get new features that let you do even more with your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The software update is free. Its easy. And you can download it right now.
But when I try to update my iPad (1st generation) from the iTunes, it says I have the newest version installed (4.2). What the hell? Is the 1st gen iPad not getting this update or is it only available for iPad 2 for now and later for the original iPads?
Yes. I have a Waterfield sleeve for the original iPad, and the iPad 2 with smart cover slipped right in. That's what I'm going to use for my bag. Depends on the case, obviously, but it should be fine.Dilbert said:It seems like the Smart Cover is the way to go in terms of screen protection and serving as a functional stand. But it may or may not be enough protection if you were to throw the iPad into a bag with a zillion other things.
Would a slipcase or pouch-style case designed to fit the original iPad be a good fit for an iPad 2 with the Smart Cover attached? Or would it be too big?

Weird. I'm downloading the latest version of the iOs (4.3) for my iPod Touch which isn't even last year's model, but the one before. I will try my iPad again later... :Sstupei said:I know someone with OG iPad who updated it just yesterday. Not sure why it's not letting you, but it's definitely possible.

Did you ever use something like TinyUmbrella that messes with your hosts file? Try updating it manually with the IPSW.Mik2121 said:Wait, I thought the iOS 4.3 was already out? Even on the apple site it says:

Done.Hey Giga, could you put a list of all the bluetooth keyboard hidden tricks in the OP or second post? I just found out what the eject button does

Around 3x faster, and that's being conservative.
I've never done anything like jailbreaking neither on my iPad nor my iPod Touch. Everything I got in both iDevices is 'legal' stuffgiga said:Did you ever use something like TinyUmbrella that messes with your hosts file? Try updating it manually with the IPSW.
Done.
No, it's separate. You're pressing "check for update" with the iPad connected right?Mik2121 said:I've never done anything like jailbreaking neither on my iPad nor my iPod Touch. Everything I got in both iDevices is 'legal' stuff
Anyway, right now it's downloading the iOS 4.3 for my iPod Touch, maybe that will let my iPad update as well?..
numble said:You can also google for direct download links to the update and directions on how to manually update (which is perfectly legal to do and doesn't require jailbreaking or anything).
Well, the video is supposedly acceptable. I haven't shot anything yet, but I'm also not looking forward to holding this thing up like an idiot anyway.kinggroin said:Fair enough, but it would have been nice to have one that didn't look like it can from the late 90s. Considering the video editing software present on this thing, its a shame you nave to resort to importing evrything rather than using the hardware available. Just looking at it from the perspective of convenience.

I think the camera is shit for three reasons:
1. Cost. they have to reach the $499 price point and maintain some margins.
2. Space. Remember, it's thinner than the iPhone 4. I don't know what the depth of these parts are, but it possible they couldn't fit a better part in the case at the right cost. This will get better as cameras get smaller.
3. Priority. They wanted FaceTime and video, good stills was not a primary objective, so combine all three points and make a compromise.
Personally, it's not a big deal. I have an iPhone 4 for photographs, and probably video as well, and I'd rather hold up something that size to shoot extended clips. I'm only interested in the iPad 2 for the editing ability and FaceTime.
EDIT: oh, and the inevitable AR stuff. Should be cool for that.
True enough. I'll try to shoot some video in order to test out iMovie, should be ok for that.kinggroin said:The AR stuff in which you'd have to hold the pad up, like an idiot (wink)? Having a good camera on the tablet is not as awkward as you'd think Tobor. Though its not really worth discussing any further. As you said, the thing wasn't intended to be used for stills or HQ recording; and more than likely for the reasons you specified.
For me, I don't like the cover because it doesn't stick to the back. It just kinda hangs there. Mines going back.bob page said:Why are people so worried about the smart cover not covering the back? You can get a BSE or Zagg back-only for like $15. Perfect combo with the smart cover, IMHO. When I put it in my messenger bag, I just throw it in a 10" netbook sleeve that I had lying around for triple protection.
That's true, but can't you just hold it against the back with your hands?taylor910 said:For me, I don't like the cover because it doesn't stick to the back. It just kinda hangs there. Mines going back.
